Bespoke Post "Shore" Review

This card details the items in my husband's box this month.

They also included this little reminder card for Father's Day. I do think these boxes make great gifts! In fact, I actually purchased this box as a birthday gift for my husband, and Bespoke Post has become my go-to gift shop since they offer such unique, quality items and some great themes!

Gilded Age Vintage Style Board Shorts - Retail Value $89

The main event this month are these great swim trunks. They appealed to me because they are nice enough to wear as regular shorts, but then they still have all the convenient features of swim trunks. They are also made by Gilded Age which is a brand we have received from this box before and been happy with the quality of. These are made of a suede microfiber weave and have tear-resistant fibers which make them tough enough to stand up to the rough ocean waves. While these fit my husband, they are a little bit tight on him and he thinks they are too short. I am hoping they will loosen up a bit with wear and that I can convince him to wear them because I think they're really nice!

They feature side pockets with a mesh liner, a large pocket on the front with velcro closure, and even another pocket on the back with a small velcro closure so you can stash anything you might need inside if you are using these as everyday shorts.

The waistband is not elastic at all and doesn't have much give, but it does have a tie in the front that may help a little with adjustments if needed. There is also a velcro closure behind that along with a fabric panel. I'm not sure if that's to help with the fit or maybe to make sure nobody sees anything they shouldn't? I'm not really well-versed in men's pant, so I don't know the exact purpose!

Propellor Dune Beach Tote - Retail Value $40

Next is this great navy blue beach tote which is a pretty decent size at 14.5" x 19.75" with a 6" depth. It features a velcro closure at the top so that you can ensure all of your beach goodies stay inside. It is also made of a durable, thick nylon fabric that seems like it will hold up well to some beach trips and it also seems like it will be easy to wipe clean.

The inside features one nice sized pocket and a PVC mesh bottom so that any sand that may make its way into your bag can also make its way back out easily. While my husband doesn't usually carry a bag to the beach, I think I can convince him this year since this one is so nice and convenient!

Aerobie Sprint Ring - Retail Value $10.99 (found here for $8.81)

So the real reason I chose this box was because of this toy! Haha. Really though, I had one as a kid and it was my favorite because of how fast and far this thing can glide! It is also super lightweight, easy to pack up and take with you and a lot of fun to play with. My husband and I love playing frisbee at the beach so I knew this would be a hit for him. This one is also light enough that the kids can successfully throw it and play with us, too, so I can't wait to take it to the beach this summer for us all to play with!

Kaizen Translucent Kendama in Red Wine - Retail Value $19.99

The next item is another fun game that I knew my husband would enjoy. He loves a good challenge so I thought this Japanese game would be right up his alley! I have never heard of this game, but I have to say this packaging was really great! It came with a coupon code for 20% off, too.

The packaging itself was really well organized and minimal, but they included so many extras! This envelope had several different ways to play the game listed on it and a really nice thank you note.

They also included SO many stickers and some extra string for our Kendama should we need it.

The Kendama consists of two main parts connected by a string and it seems like it is a nice quality toy. The 'Ken' is the lighter wooden part made of birchwood and the darker ball is the 'Tama' made out of shiny sassafrass. This is a lighter weight version of the game.

The idea is to swing the ball and have it land on the side cups or the spike on the ken. We have not had a chance to play with this yet, but I have a feeling it is going to be harder than it looks! It will definitely provide us with some entertainment and maybe even some friendly competition!

I loved that all of our goodies fit nicely inside our new tote with plenty of room to spare, too.

Verdict: This was another great Bespoke Post box that was full of high-quality items. This bundle was such a great mix of fun and function as well as style. While the board shorts aren't quite my husband's style, I think he will come around to them! Everything else will definitely get used and provide us with a lot of fun as well. This month I was able to find the retail values of all of our items and I was really surprised at what an incredible value we received! The total came to $159.98 which is fantastic for a $51.65 ($45 + tax & shipping) box! While some items might retail for higher than I'd be comfortable paying, I still think it's an incredible value overall. I love the curation of Bespoke Post boxes and the fact that you can choose which box suits you each month. We have come across some great, high-quality items along with some fun and unique ones, too with each box we have received!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, as of publication, this box is still available!

Value Breakdown: At $51.65 ($45 + tax & shipping) for this box for four items here is what you are paying per item:

  • Shorts: $28.73
  • Tote: $12.91
  • Aerobie: $3.55

I love the Bespoke format. It is so easy to skip. Also, the boxes are offered longer than the month they first come out (but can be sold out). I got the “Mellow” box this time around and did an add-on plus an item that was on sale to meet the free shipping.

It really is a great format! The Mellow box looks interesting and those cinnamon shavings sound yummy! 🙂

I didn’t realize this box came with the beach bag – such a fun summer assortment. Just curious what size trunk you bought for your husband. They do look a bit snug and that would not fly with my guy. He usually wears a large but but he has an ample booty (TMI?) so I’m debating if I would need to size up. Thanks!

Haha! I tell my husband he has a bubble butt all the time so I get it. 😂 I ordered him a medium but I really think he was on the cusp of medium and large. He’s like a 33/34 so I probably could have sized up! This is what it says for the measurements on the Gilded Age site: Size S corresponds to waist sizes 30-31, Size M corresponds to waist sizes 32-33, size L corresponds to waist size 34-36, and XXL corresponds to waist size 38.

Hope that helps! 🙂

This is very helpful – thank you! Gotta love a bubble butt. 😝 I think I might just go for large since he’s usually a 35/36. Baggy trunks are just too risky. 😂

I got a similar box a few years ago for my husband. It included the swim trunks/shorts and the Frisbee but not the bag or the toy. I think it came with something else, maybe some sunscreen instead. I would have preferred the bag. It looks like a great bag for the beach or pool or any picnic. I’ll have to see if he needs a new pair of swim trunks!
