The Beauty Report Stop The Clock Box Review
Here is the info sheet for the items included.
Purlisse Perfect Glow BB Cream, 0.34 oz – Estimated Value $8.50 (buy the full-size version for $35)
I am a big fan of BB creams. Here in South Louisiana, anything heavier than light-medium coverage is going to sweat right off my face thanks to our lovely humidity. I thought this did a good job of evening out my complexion and giving a subtle glow, and it didn’t feel greasy on my skin. I would like to get on my soapbox for a second and say that even though this has SPF 30 in it, you still need to be layering a sunscreen underneath for actual protection - the amount of BB cream you would need to use to get the full SPF protection would be way more than you actually would want to wear. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
Grande Cosmetics GrandeMASCARA, 0.13 oz – Estimated Value $15.48 (buy the full-size version for $25)
I don’t know how else to say it: this mascara was awful for me. It clumped like crazy on my lashes, and I definitely didn’t get the “extreme volume” promised in the description.
Here I am wearing the Purliise BB Cream and the Grande mascara. If you zoom in (please don’t) you can see that my lashes are clump city. The lipstick I am wearing is Bellapierre in Envy from my Naturisimo Blooming Gorgeous Discovery Box (review coming soon!).
Neostrata Repair Exfoliating Wash, 1.3 oz – Estimated Value $12.38 (buy the full-size version for $40)
This exfoliating cleanser provides chemical exfoliation thanks to maltobionic acid (a PHA), but it also has a soothing botanical blend thanks to ingredients like cucumber, chamomile, aloe, rosemary, and rose. This should be a good chemical exfoliant for sensitive skin, and the sample is generous enough to find out if you really like it before committing to the full-size.
Leonor Greyl Bamboo Shampoo, 1.7 oz – Retail Value $19
This is a pricey French haircare brand I have never tried before, and this nourishing shampoo is designed for long, dry, and thick hair - check, check, and check! I can see why this is such a luxe brand; this is one of the better shampoos I have tried on my curls, and while I don’t see myself paying for the full-size I will be hoping this brand pops up in more beauty subscription boxes.
Priori LCA fx130 Eye Serum, Full-Size! Retail Value $69
Oh, HELLO expensive eye serum worth more than double the cost of this box. I was a bit dumbfounded when I saw the price of this eye serum because the packaging is a bit unassuming for a $70 eye cream. This has an adaptive formula that is designed to give your delicate eye skin the support it needs for whatever your skincare concerns are, and the ingredients list includes things like caffeine and their proprietary blend of lactic acid and vitamins A, C, and E to promote cell turnover, hydration, and antioxidant protection. This has a hybrid balm-gel texture that didn’t feel greasy or heavy around my eyes, and I use this in my nighttime routine to try and prevent any signs of aging around my eyes.
Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm, 0.5 oz – Estimated Value $8.52 (buy the full-size version for $60)
I have tried this cleansing balm before, and while it is nice I think there are more affordable options out there. That being said, using this is definitely a luxe experience that melts away any makeup on my skin and leaves it feeling soft and supple.
Orlane B21 Extraordinaire Youth Reset, 0.25 oz – Estimated Value $62.50 (buy the 1 oz version for $250)
I love subscription boxes - I have been slathering on a serum worth $62.50 without any idea just how much this bad boy costs. This is made with 21 amino acids designed to help rebuild your skin and fight the signs of aging, and while in the jar it looks like a lightweight moisturizer, I have been using it as a serum. Using it leaves my skin soft and smooth so I will enjoy this sample while I have it.
Jurlique Rose Hand Cream, 0.5 oz – Estimated Value $7.41 (buy the 1.35 oz version for $20)
I love Jurlique, and my skin loves their products. This hand cream smells like a bouquet of fresh roses, and it is nourishing to my skin without leaving them feeling greasy.
SiO Beauty SiO BrowLift – Retail Value $29.95
These appear frequently in boxes produced by The Beauty Report, and they are the one product I cannot get behind. To use you would apply them at night and wear it while you sleep, but you can’t apply any serums or lotions because then it won’t adhere. I love my skincare routine too much to go without it in its entirety for a night, but your mileage may vary with these patches that are designed to reduce wrinkles and can be re-used up to fifteen times.
The Verdict: I was so excited to see that New Beauty came out with these limited edition boxes – I have really loved every single box they have produced! The Stop The Clock box wasn’t my favorite of the bunch (more so because anti-aging isn’t a big concern of mine, rather than the quality of the items sent), but you can’t deny this has an incredible value. Value-wise, I calculated a total value of $232.74 for everything, which absolutely blows the $24.95 cost of the box out of the water.
