All He Loves Box May 2019 "Outdoor" Review

We received this insert that tells us our theme which is "Outdoor" and gives a brief description as well as retail values for each of the items in our box. This month's theme is one that definitely suits my husband so I was excited to see what they had in store for him!

Coalatree Loafer Single Hammock - Retail Value $39

This hammock is really cool! It simply pulls out from the pouch it comes in and remains attached so you don't lose the bag. It holds up to 450 lbs which is pretty amazing and the seams are triple stitched. This is also from an eco-minded company that works to create environmentally friendly products and they also give back by donating blankets to the homeless made from their surplus fabric. How sweet is that?

Either end has a metal carabiner on it to help secure it while hanging and they included two extra pieces of thick rope for this as well. The fabric itself is super lightweight made from 100% nylon.

I hung it up between the two trees where we normally hang our hammock. Since I know nothing about tying knots I just made something up and hoped for the best! Luckily, it held and my husband was able to relax in the hammock for a minute before dinner...

...until this happened, at least! It does have a ton of fabric and seemed pretty comfy. Clearly, it is easy to wrap yourself up in for a cozy nap or night of sleep while camping!

Outdoor Element Firebiner - Retail Value $14.95

This Firebiner is such a great multi-purpose tool! In addition to having a fire wheel, it also has a screwdriver, bottle opener, and a utility blade for cutting. It holds up to 100 lbs of gear and is made of stainless steel with a titanium coating that won't corrode. It is also incredibly lightweight and pretty thin for all that it does so it can easily be packed up to take anywhere or even to keep with you for emergencies.

Gear Aid Cooling Towel - Retail Value $17.95

This next item is great for summer camping trips or just summer in general! This cooling towel seems nicely made and is a unique item to both my husband and me. It is made of water-activated cooling mesh that can cool your body for up to 2 hours.

The towel is made of microfiber and is antimicrobial meaning there will be no odor with use. It is a decent size at 15"x36" and its long rectangular shape makes it ideal for wrapping around the back of your neck to cool you down! I tested it out by adding some cold water to it and it definitely stayed cool. I liked that it had a snap strap attached which makes it easy to hang for drying.

The towel packs down nice and small and fits inside this great little pouch featuring a mesh front. It also has a snap strap where you can add your name and also use it to attach it to your bag or bike depending on when you use it!

Green Goo Bugs Be Gone Bug Spray 4.5 oz - Retail Value $11.95

If you're spending time outdoors, then bug spray is a must where we live! I have heard of this brand before, but never tried it. I like that it is free from petroleum, parabens, deet, and even citronella, and instead, it contains essential oils to keep the bugs away. The smell was actually nice for a bug spray and I'm happy that it is a safer version we can feel okay about using on the kids too!

Vega Sport Protein Bar in Mint Chocolate - Retail Value $2.49 (found here for $1.87)

Vega Sport Protein Bar in Peanut Butter - Retail Value $2.49 (found here for $1.87)

I have just recently been getting into protein bars and have been surprised by how low the protein can be in some, but these pack a nice amount at 20 grams. My husband let me try the mint chocolate chip and both of us agreed it was pretty delicious as far as protein bars go! They are vegan, non-GMO, and made with plant-based protein.

Verdict: I was excited to see what my husband would receive in this month's All He Loves Outdoor themed box and it did not disappoint! The hammock is great and can be used anywhere at any time while the bug spray, protein bars, and Firebiner are all incredibly useful items for camping or spending time outdoors. The cooling towel is sort of a novelty item that I think will definitely come in handy at the beach or even when mowing the grass or doing yard work in the summer heat. The total retail value came to $88.83 which is really great for a $50.99 ($45 + $5.99 shipping) box that included so many unique and useful items! This subscription is so fun each month with the varying themes and I think I enjoy the boxes just as much as my husband does!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
