The Clean Beauty Box April 2019 Review feat. Wabi-Sabi Botanicals

You'll find a booklet inside with the month's theme which is "Balance".

The Clean Beauty Box always features a new design each month on the box and info booklet. April was created by Zoe Wodarz, based in Minnesota.

Inside you'll find an overview of the included products.

As well as an introduction to the featured brand: Wabi-Sabi Botanicals (which is a super fun name to say). They donate 10% of their profits to Kiva micro-loans for women. The back explains that you can enter to win your next box for free by tagging them in your photos of the box on Instagram. There's also a 15% code for their online shop.

This month has two products to discover!

Wabi-Sabi Botanicals The Giver

Wabi-Sabi Botanicals The Giver Illuminative Ritual Cleanser & Makeup Dissolver, 1.69 oz. - Retail Value $60.00

While I don't always love an oil cleanser, after using this one I can see why some really love them. It promises to melt away the most stubborn makeup so I decided to try it up against an especially wild palette and dark lipstick that is tough to get off. I added two pumps of product to my fingertips and massaged it into a dry face (as directed) full of makeup and watched it literally dissolve it away. The heavy makeup was no match for this formula of sapote fruit oil, rosella hibiscus oil, moringa oil, and fragrant roasted coffee bean oil & cacao. The most satisfying part was taking a damp cloth to wipe away all of the glitter and smeared plum lipstick from my face to leave well-moisturized skin. The roasted coffee bean oil does have quite a strong scent to it so if you're not a coffee lover, this may not be a product you'll love using.

Wabi-Sabi Botanicals Balancing Act TIger's Eye Roller Ball

Wabi-Sabi Botanicals Balancing Act Intensif Serum No. 2 with Crystal Roller - Listed Retail Value $52.00 (Similar item here)

The other featured product this month is an exclusive pre-launch for a new larger bottle of Wabi-Sabi's Balancing Act Serum that includes a beautiful Brazilian Tiger's Eye roller ball applicator. Like The Giver, Balancing Act has a unique brown color and the roller ball allows you to gently roll it straight onto oily-prone areas of our skin that need it most without overdoing it. The amount of product dispensed is minimal so you can really roll to your heart's content until you find the correct amount to smooth in. It has a light nutty, almost smoky scent to it that I find quite nice. While guava seed, sacha inchi seed, and borage seed oil work together to soothe, protect, help reduce scarring and wrinkles, and balance your skin, the tiger's eye roller balances hormones and promotes self-confidence. What a great way to begin or end a day during your beauty routine!

Verdict: The two products from this month's Clean Beauty Box are probably the most unique I've received from them (or many other boxes). The unlikely scents I discovered were quite different and offered new ways to use common products (like cleanser and serum). While the cleanser won't be an everyday product for me, I love how well it hydrated my skin while dissolving tough makeup. As for the serum- I'm excited to use it more and put that tiger's eye roller ball to work!

I like to reuse containers when I’m done with them especially beautiful ones like the tigers eye. Do you think these are refillable?

Great idea and question re: refilling, Cary! It looks like if you’re so inclined, you may be able to pop the plastic part (that holds the roller ball) off of the glass bottle to refill.
