Sweet Sparkle Review March 2019 - Kokie Brow Mascara Top

Kokie Brow Mascara, Clear - Retail Value $7

I use the Anastasia brow gel daily, which does a pretty good job holding my brows in place without making them feel stiff, but I think I like this formula more! It has a little bit more hold throughout the day while maintaining a soft, touchable texture. I didn’t have any trouble getting any product on the brush, which is something I struggle with from Anastasia. This is definitely a winning find for me this month!

Sweet Sparkle Review March 2019 - Luna by Luna Eyeshadow in Plum Box TopSweet Sparkle Review March 2019 - Luna by Luna Eyeshadow in Plum Open TopSweet Sparkle Review March 2019 - Luna by Luna Eyeshadow in Plum Uncapped Top

Luna by Luna Eyeshadow in Plum - Retail Value $15

Luna by Luna is a brand I’ve become familiar with thanks to beauty subscription boxes. This single shadow in Plum has a smooth, almost creamy texture and applied nicely using my fingertip. The color payoff is decent, considering this is a lighter hue, and I didn’t experience any fallout during application or wear. This frosty pink makes a great all over lid color, add some liner and you’re ready to go!

Sweet Sparkle Review March 2019 - LARITZY High Gloss TopSweet Sparkle Review March 2019 - LARITZY High Gloss Uncapped Top

LARITZY High Gloss, Clear - Listed Value $16

I am always looking for the next best glossy lip, but this no-frills clear gloss is really taking me back to the basics. Its smooth, non-sticky texture moisturized my lips and left them shiny with a sweet coconut scent. I had to dip into the gloss several times to build up the coverage I wanted, so this is definitely not an easy one swipe and done type gloss. I couldn’t find this exact product on the LARITZY site, so I am wondering if this formula may be retired.

Sweet Sparkle Review March 2019 - J. Cat Beauty Love Struck Powder Blusher + Bronzer in Babe TopSweet Sparkle Review March 2019 - J. Cat Beauty Love Struck Powder Blusher + Bronzer in Babe Uncapped TopSweet Sparkle Review March 2019 - J. Cat Beauty Love Struck Powder Blusher + Bronzer in Babe Uncapped Closer Top

J. Cat Beauty Love Struck Powder Blusher + Bronzer in Babe - Retail Value $3.99

Bronzer is a must to bring some life to this pale girl’s complexion, and this cute J. Cat compact came in the nick of time for Spring. I like the mix of pink shimmer with this reddish bronzer shade, BUT the shimmer only lasted for one swatch and it was gone! I am disappointed by the misleading shimmer, and although it is less exciting now, the satin bronzer still functions as such.

Sweet Sparkle Review March 2019 - e.l.f. Cosmetics Volumizing and Defining Mascara Package TopSweet Sparkle Review March 2019 - e.l.f. Cosmetics Volumizing and Defining Mascara Uncapped Top

e.l.f. Cosmetics Volumizing and Defining Mascara - Retail Value $2, Listed Value $3

e.l.f. Volumizing and defining mascara promises to create full and defined voluptuous lashes, which was not my experience. This waxy formula made it difficult to build up volume in multiple layers, and after just two or three coats I was left with lashes that stuck together. I combed through them with a Real Techniques lash brush to no avail, but I will say that this mascara held a curl all day long.

Sweet Sparkle Review March 2019 - Selfie 1 After Using Products Front

Here is the look I came up with using all of the products from this month’s box - it's a pretty neutral look since I only had a few colors to work with. I used the J. Cat bronzer to bronze my face and to deepen my eye look at the outer V and under my eyes. Also, please note my lashes! I will say that this mascara held the curl of my lashes all day, but I prefer a mascara that will separate so I can fan them out a little bit.

This picture gives you a nice look at the level of hold the brow gel has; I am impressed! You can also see the nice color the bronzer gave to liven up my complexion.

Verdict: Sweet Sparkle has brought another vast array of products to the table. This month was really lacking color, but I do appreciate some of the staple products that were sampled. My favorite find has to be the Kokie Clear Brow Mascara, which is a new must-have for me. I also enjoyed the gloss and eyeshadow, which are basics we can all use more of. All in all, I continue to enjoy coming up with a cohesive look using all of the products sent monthly, even if it did turn out to be more of a wearable (read: boring) everyday look.

I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

I used to get this box, but when I had to trim down for financial reasons, this was one of the first I cut. I did, and do, like the box. They do a lot of jCat and Kokie, which I like. But, as most of you have already said, it’s overpriced for what it is. This should be about $14.99. Yes, it’s full size, but mostly cheaper products. I haven’t liked anything I’ve tried from LaRitzy.

To be fair, it’s usually a nice box, with a complete look, but it’s just a little overpriced.

I agree with everyone else, this is not a $25 box. Way too much money for what you’re getting. If you’re looking for a box in this price range, I recommend Ipsy Plus or even Boxycharm.

I agree, over priced. Brands like Elf in my boxes especislly..

Another plus about the kokie is that it’s SO much cheaper than Anastasia!

By beauty subscription box standards this box seems overpriced.
Perhaps $10-15 would be a better price point?

Agreed. I pay $25 for 5 full-sized, high-end products that exceed $125 (at the very least) with Ipsy GBP. Paying the same for this? Nope.

I was thinking the same thing!
