Le Tote is a clothing rental service that allows you to wear and hang on to clothing and accessories as long as you'd like with no commitment to buy them and starts as low as $69/month for just five Clothing Items. If you do happen to fall in love with something, you can purchase it at a discounted rate (as well as take advantage of "tote sales" that make them even cheaper). In addition to their regular subscription, they also offer Le Tote Maternity and both come in several levels from 8-15 pieces at a time (all of which you can change at any time). You don't have a stylist, but their system will suggest items based on a series of questions when you first sign up as well as items you've favorited. The best part is that you have full control to swap out anything you don't like before it ships. I usually choose ALL of my items, but Le Tote has made a few good suggestions that I've kept in the tote.

How Le Tote Works

If you're curious as to how the signup process works, I wrote a more in-depth article back in October when I received my first delivery and walked through every step of the way. If you're new to Le Tote, that's a great place to start! I also wrote some tips on how to get the sizing right, and how to style your items with your existing wardrobe.

Le Tote Plans

As a quick guide, here are all of the different subscription options now available. You can go clothing only, or a mix of clothing and accessories. All subscriptions are only 1 tote per month except for the bottom two that are marked "popular" in which you get 2 totes per month.

Le Tote Info Sheet

You'll receive a personalized pamphlet with your clothes.

Items listed on Le Tote Info Sheet

Inside, it goes over what's in your tote and all of the prices. There's often an additional tote sale price marked in red. This month, two of my items have an additional discount.

Le Tote Return Mailer

You'll also receive a pre-paid mailer to return any of the clothing and accessories you don't end up purchasing.

This Month's Le Tote Clothing & Accessories

While the colors I chose this month don't all scream "Springtime", I opted for a lot more single outfit pieces than usual. I went for two dresses, a romper, and a jumpsuit that are all complete on their own without needing to mix and match tops and bottoms. Now that it's getting warmer out, I like the idea of throwing something on, grabbing a jacket, and heading out the door. Let's dive into my April Le Tote review!

Le Tote Jewelry Bubble Pouch

The tote package I subscribe to includes three accessories. If you choose jewelry pieces, they'll come in their own baggies, tucked inside a bubble pouch to keep them safe. It's helpful to point out that when "swapping out" items in your tote before they ship, you can only swap accessories for other accessories. Clothing is counted separately.

Gorjana Coil Ring back of Gorjana Coil Ring Gorjana Coil Ring on model

Gorjana Coil Ring in Silver - Retail Value $45.00 (Le Tote Price $36.00)

This delicate silver coil ring is right up my alley. The more delicate, the better in my world. I love stacking rings and mixing finishes as well. Since it's bendable, that also means it's adjustable to make sure the size is just right. It's really easy to wear and I often almost forget I even have it on since it's so lightweight. This simple piece can be worn with casual outfits or dressier ones so it's quite versatile.

Gorjana Hammered Curved Bar Necklace close up of Gorjana Hammered Curved Bar Necklace Gorjana Hammered Curved Bar Necklace on model

Gorjana Hammered Curved Bar Necklace in Gold - Retail Value $60.00 (Le Tote Price $48.00)

I know, this looks a lot like the necklace I got last month in my tote and it's made by the same company (which also made the aforementioned ring). I guess I have a type, huh? While the necklace last month was wavy, this hammered gold number is simply curved, like a smile. I like it for its understated appearance which makes me feel more silently classy as opposed to a louder statement piece (which don't get me wrong, I still like). I'll be wearing this one with solid colors instead of patterns so it doesn't get lost visually.

Rebecca Minkoff Convertible Star Choker close up of Rebecca Minkoff Convertible Star Choker Rebecca Minkoff Convertible Star Choker on model

Rebecca Minkoff Convertible Star Choker in Silver - Retail Value $68.00 (Le Tote Price $54.00/Tote Sale Price: $14.00)

I don't know what got into me ordering this since I have been vocal about my hatred of chokers in the past, but here I am. Rebecca Minkoff generally knows what she's doing and this silver choker made of stars is on a stretchy band to make it super adjustable. In the photo, I'm not wearing it very tight or high on my neck, but a bit lower where I find it more comfortable. Since I lived through the 90s as an angsty teen, I don't normally feel the need to relive some of the fashions. This choker is pretty cute though and reminds me of a star bracelet my BFF made me in high school. That might be what drew me to it.

Kaia Collective Bodycon Tank

KaÏa Collective Bodycon Tank in Black, size large - Retail Value $58.00 (Le Tote Price: $48.00)

I feel very "Rock N Roll" in this pic! I clearly should've gotten a smaller size so that this bodycon tank would have fit more tightly and not gotten all wrinkly as the photo shows. Once the cold weather disappears and the sun comes out, tanks become part of my uniform instead of tees. This one is made with 80% polyester and 20% spandex which makes it stretchy and a little shiny, almost like a bathing suit. There are details that look like underwires on the chest that don't really seem to do anything for me, sadly.

Summer & Sage Sleeveless Midi Dress slit in Summer & Sage Sleeveless Midi Dress

Summer & Sage Sleeveless Midi Dress, size medium- Retail Value $58.00 (Le Tote Price: $48.00)

I've been eyeing this dress for a while because it looked so comfy and easy to wear. I was right! I'm only 5'3" so I was a little unsure about where this dress would hit me in the legs but I'm kind of warming to it, looking at the photo. I don't love wearing dresses, but you can't beat the ease of throwing one on and walking out the door if it's nice out. The weather in Pittsburgh is finally being kind of nice (if it weren't for all of this rain!) which means I can get away with wearing something like this tank dress more. The fabric has sort of a velvet-ey feel to it and it's hella stretchy so I was able to get a medium that hugged my curves. I'll be tossing a jean jacket over this and maybe even wear it with sneakers as a casual lewk.

Kaia Collective Bodycon Cut Out Dress zipper on back of Kaia Collective Bodycon Cut Out Dress

KaÏa Collective Bodycon Cut Out Dress, size medium- Retail Value $58.00 (Le Tote Price: $48.00)

This cut out dress was another wild card for me. I think Spring has got me a little more into colors and this fuchsia mini dress spoke to me. I'm no Kim Kardashian, but I'm surprised how well I pull this one off. The front has a cut-out piece right above the tummy while the back has an exposed silver zipper that goes from the neck down to the waist. I thought this fit well everywhere except the bust. It's not super apparent in the photos, but the top was a little large on me (business as usual) and gapped at the sides a bit. I might be able to get away with wearing a jacket over this to hide that aspect.

Summer & Sage Tie Waist Romper zipper on back of Summer & Sage Tie Waist Romper

Summer & Sage Tie Waist Romper, size large - Retail Value $58.00 (Le Tote Price: 48.00/Tote Sale Price: $29.00)

Ooof- this romper was a mess on me. It's much too large and the fabric is so light that it just sort of drapes really poorly and looks baggy. It's made of a cream waffle material not unlike a thermal shirt, has a tie-waist, and a zipper down the back with a hot pink zipper pull accent. I should have gotten a medium and could possibly even squished into a small since this sort of just drooped everywhere. Sadly, I won't be wearing this one and it will just wait to go back with the others when I'm done.

BLK LT Mid Rise Pleat Front Elastic Trouser close up of back of waist on BLK LT Mid Rise Pleat Front Elastic Trouser

BLK LT Mid Rise Pleat Front Elastic Trouser, size large - Retail Value $70.00 (Le Tote Price: $58.00)

I really like these pants a lot and they remind me of ones from JCrew that I already own in two colors except that they taper slightly at the bottom. I like to eat and have been wearing a lot of high waisted jeans which means they start to get tight and squeeze my will to live. These babies have an elastic waist though, so I can eat to my heart's content and not feel the pressure to undo a top button. The waist was a little gappy in the back but I needed the size large for my hips. The slit pockets on both sides are a great addition and these trousers will be a good option to replace jeans that I wear every day.

Noir Paper Bag Short close up of Noir Paper Bag Short

Noir Paperbag Short, size large- Retail Value $58.00 (Le Tote Price: $48.00)

Again, these are somehow a little too big even though I almost always wear a large. Since the paper bag waist also has a tie, I'm able to fudge it a little, but these would be a bit more flattering in a smaller size. They have pleats and pockets just like the pants before them but the tie at the waist gives them a slightly more femme look. I think these shorts would be work appropriate with the right top and a nice warm weather option for the office.

London Times Polka Dot Tie Waist Jumpsuit

London Times Polka Dot Tie Waist Jumpsuit, size 10 - Retail Value $76.00 (Le Tote Price: $58.00)

The last item brings us to my absolute favorite of the month! I am totally in love with this sleeveless polka dot jumpsuit! I find the wide pants to be super flattering and the keyhole at the chest is super cute. There's a thin rope belt with metal ends at the waist to cinch everything plus- POCKETS! This is actually navy blue instead of black so I can feel like I'm not as dreary as normal, and the polka dots are really fun. This would be perfect to wear to a baby shower or even a Spring wedding. A jumpsuit like this is truly my ideal "dressy" outfit.

Verdict: Le Tote rented me 10 items (3 accessories, 7 clothing items) this month that are ready for warm weather. While I struck out on a few sizes, I was at least happy to report that they were a little too big instead of too small. I'm most excited about the polka dot jumpsuit, but also the grey midi dress and black pants. As always, if you're looking to cut down on how much is in your closet or don't want to pay full price for clothes you may only wear for a month or two before the season changes, Le Tote is a great option!

Hi Marne! I have a question about Le Tote and would love any insight you may have. I was a Le Tote subscriber for a long time but took about a year off from the service. I am thinking about reactivating my subscription, but when I logged in, I saw that the plans have drastically changed. It now says you have the option of getting one or two totes a month. When I was a member it was unlimited. If I wore everything right away and sent it back quickly, I could usually get 3 totes a month. Are you truly limited to 1-2 totes or can you get more if you wear/return quickly?

Hi Crystal-
Happy to answer this!
Sadly, there is no more unlimited Le Tote. 🙁 All of the options are only 1 tote per month EXCEPT a version where you get 2 totes per month with 3 clothing items & 2 accessories for $79/mo (or a non-accessory version where you get 4 clothing items for $89/mo).
There are so many options that I’ll take a screen cap of the lists and add it to the review under “How Le Tote Works” near the top.
I thiiiiink that any existing members that signed up when there was unlimited may have been grandfathered in, but I’ll try to reach out to be sure.
We’re always getting new coupon codes for Le Tote so keep an eye on the site (or sign up for Le Tote notifications) to check out the next one if you do decide to sign up!

Hey Christina!
Like most of my shoes, they’re from Nordstrom Rack. The brand is 1.State and these are called the Saffy Block Heel Pump. 🙂
