Kinder Beauty Box Natural Beauty Subscription Box April 2019 Review
Each box comes with an info card that has each product pictured with a short description and listed value, so you know what each product is worth.
Rustic Maka Deodorant – Retail Value $11
I am always on board to try new natural deodorants! This one is baking-soda free, and it is potently fragranced with lemongrass--perfect for Spring! I wore this all day without reapplying, and even after a long walk on a sunny afternoon, I could still smell the pleasant lemongrass freshness neutralizing any odors.
Deodorants with this thin-yet-pasty texture seem to work the best, like Schmidt’s for example, but they are also a little more difficult to wash off (not a dealbreaker for me). This formula is aluminum, paraben, and GMO-free and, of course, cruelty-free as well!
Flower Mill Beauty Vitamin C Facial Serum – Retail Value $75
Vitamin C skin care products are beneficial for lightening dark spots caused by acne, which is always a head-turner for me. This serum has a light, initially oily texture that dries down into a smooth, velvety finish.
I liked the silky feel this serum gave my skin, but the heavily fragranced essential oil blend is simply too overpowering for my taste. This serum is comprised of coconut, hazelnut, and essential oils, too, which is a red flag for me; coconut oil is comedogenic, meaning it just sits on top of the skin instead of penetrating the pores. It is known to clog and inflame pores, which is something I can’t risk.
GLOV On-The-Go Makeup Remover – Retail Value $12.99
I tried the mini GLOV in the past (thanks to sub boxes!) so I was happy to give this full-sized one a go. I love the idea of an item I can just wet and wipe makeup away with, and this glove is extra soft so you don’t have to be afraid to use it on the more tender areas around your eyes.
I saturated the GLOV with warm water, and using very little pressure, wiggled the cloth around my eyes and all around my face. It did a pretty good job at removing eyeliner and mascara, but I had to go in with a cleanser afterward to finish the job.
Andalou Naturals Apricot Probiotic Cleansing Milk, 1.7fl oz – Estimated Value $3.96 (Buy a 6 oz bottle here for $13.99)
Show me a product with milk in the title, and I am in! This gentle cream cleanser smells like soft apricots and feels luscious on the skin.
I massaged a pea-sized amount into my skin, basked in the fragrance for just a moment then rinsed to a fresh, glowing complexion. Sometimes cleansers meant for dry skin leave a film or residue behind, but my skin felt totally clean and moisturized after rinsing.
PBH Ethical Beauty Lip Crayon in Tiger Lily – Retail Value $13.38, Listed Value $11.50
Creamy and pigmented, this lippie pencil glides on and wears like a dream. I used a balm to prep my lips, then filled them in with this fun shade. That is all I wore on my lips this morning, and the color (not the shimmer) stayed on my lips for a few hours without any touchups.
I also love this unique shimmering coral shade in Tiger Lily that was sampled this month (colors may vary)!
Verdict: Kinder Beauty Box sent a great array this month! This box has a value of $116.06, which is great for a $24 box; however, the highest ticketed item that made up over half the value of the box really isn’t a good personal fit. I was happy to discover a few other favorites, though, which made this box totally worth it for me.
