The first item on the top of the box is this inviting postcard stating the theme of this month's curation. The back features all of the contents included in this particular box. I love having a content list, just to make sure I received everything I was supposed to!

Ignite English Review March 2019 - Paper Towns by John Green Front TopIgnite English Review March 2019 - Paper Towns by John Green Back Top

Paper Towns by John Green - Retail Value $10.99 (Found here for $6.49)

The book this month is a young adult novel written by the fabulous John Green, who writes delicately and truthfully. I found this book to be well-written, sweet, and light. It is about a teenage boy, Quentin, who lives in Orlando, Florida, and has suddenly found himself in a mystery regarding his high-school crush Margo. These high-school students start as little kids, and by the end, seem so grown up. It is a book about true friendship and true love. My kind of novel!

Book Summary:

Winner of the Edgar Award for Best Young Adult Mystery
#1 New York Times Bestseller
USA Today Bestseller
Publishers Weekly Bestseller
Now a major motion picture

When Margo Roth Spiegelman beckons Quentin Jacobsen in the middle of the night—dressed like a ninja and plotting an ingenious campaign of revenge—he follows her. Margo’s always planned extravagantly, and, until now, she’s always planned solo. After a lifetime of loving Margo from afar, things are finally looking up for Q . . . until day breaks and she has vanished. Always an enigma, Margo has now become a mystery. But there are clues. And they’re for Q.

Printz Medalist John Green returns with the trademark brilliant wit and heart-stopping emotional honesty that have inspired a new generation of readers.

Ignite English Review March 2019 - Mystery Item2 Not Opened Top

No cheating! This mystery item shouldn't be opened until you reach page 42!

Ignite English Review March 2019 - Yippee & Co. Artisan Fish Shaped Soap Front TopIgnite English Review March 2019 - Yippee & Co. Artisan Fish Shaped Soap Back Top

Yippee & Co. Artisan Fish Shaped Soap (2oz.) - Estimated Value $8.00 (based on a similar item found here)

This mystery item has the quote “Margo: Your Friendship sleeps with the fishes” and happens to be an adorable blue swirled fish-shaped bar of soap! The ingredients include coconut oil, castor oil, shea butter, olive oil, mica colorant, orange oil, lavender, and spearmint. It is very hydrating and smells divine! This is a fun little addition to the story, and makes the whole experience very exciting! I love that they used an Etsy-based company with products made in the USA!

Ignite English Review March 2019 - Mystery Envelope Front Top

This mystery is to be opened when you reach Page 115 in the book. I will try my best not to give away any spoilers!

Ignite English Review March 2019 - Mystery Letter Front TopIgnite English Review March 2019 - Mystery Letter Back Top

Inside the envelope is a printed excerpt from a poem. I don’t want to give away too many details, but it is printed on old fashioned looking paper and coordinates with the story perfectly. It helps with the mystery, and was fun to open!

Ignite English Review March 2019 - Novelly Yours Paper Towns Lemon + Ocean Breeze candle Top

Novelly Yours Paper Towns Candle, Lemon + Ocean Breeze

This item wasn’t a mystery gift but was a fun item to include in the box. It looks to have been specially made for this box, with the book's title “Paper Towns” printed on it. It has a very clean and beachy scent to it. I like how it goes along with the story perfectly and creates the perfect book reading atmosphere!

Ignite English Review March 2019 - Baggage Keychain In Box TopIgnite English Review March 2019 - Baggage Keychain Out Of Box Top

Baggage Keychain

The next included item was a silver-toned, metal suitcase keychain. It was packaged in a cute little box with a bow, in case you would like to re-gift. It isn’t the most quality keychain I have ever seen, but it is cute and ties in well with the story.

Book Gizmo Book Sleeve, Paper Airplanes  - Estimated Value $2.25 $15.00 (a similar style found here)

This is my FAVORITE bookish item in the box! I have never had a “book sleeve” before, and I don’t know what I did before getting one! It protects my book and helps me keep my book, pen, and activity guide together! It is suuuper well made, and is simply adorable! I love it!

They also included this bookmark (in case you have to put the book down for some crazy reason!) It features a quote from the book, and ties everything together very nicely.

Ignite English Review March 2019 - Activity Guide Front Top

This next item is the activity guide I have filled out. If you don’t want to see any spoilers for this particular box, I suggest you skip this part.

I wanted to save the activity guide for last because I didn’t want to spoil it for anyone who wants a surprise. Since this box was created to improve literacy, they have put together a wonderful activity guide to fill out as you are reading the book. In this guide, they have listed the main characters, explained literary elements seen in the book, asked discussion questions, and included activities to help build your understanding of reading and writing. There is also some exclusive online content for additional vocabulary practice if wanted. They include an access code to join. I haven’t taken an English class in over 10 years, so this was a great refresher!

Ignite English Review March 2019 - Cheat Sheet Front TopIgnite English Review March 2019 - Cheat Sheet Back Top

The last item in this box was a cheat sheet for the book. It lists each part of the book and gives a summary of what happens in each chapter. This is a great tool in case you have to put the book down for a couple of days, or in case you want a little refresher.

Verdict: This was my first box from Ignite English and I must say, I love it! I am 30 years old, but 17 at heart, and love a good young adult novel. The whole concept of this box is wonderful. Not only did I love the book, but I loved the quality and thoughtfulness of the bookish items as well. And if that’s not enough, the activity guide really dives in deep and helps you understand parts of the story you may have missed otherwise.

I am really impressed with the quality of the items they sent, and it really was a great experience. At $34.99 + $9.99 shipping, it might be a little on the expensive side, but it all ties together so well that I feel it is worth it.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Boxes ship between the 20-24th every two months. Since this is a bi-monthly subscription, you must order by the 15th to get the current box on months that they ship new boxes.

The Book Gizmo Book Sleeve XL is $18 + shipping. I went on the link above since the $2.50 price above is crazy good and that is the price of a small item like a bookmark not the sleeve. 👍

Thank you for reviewing this. This would be awesome for kiddos who homeschool.

I read that book several years ago and LOVED it! Honestly I haven’t read a book by John Green that I haven’t loved. The book sleeve was a wonderful and unique and now I think I need one too! I always throw my book in my bag and it never seems to fail that my bookmark comes out, causing me to waste precious reading time trying to find my place. This sub is definitely on my watch list!!

Thanks for commenting! It was such a good book! And I recommend those sleeves to everyone- they are such a great idea- my book edges look brand new after being tossed around in my bag all day! My other books sometimes look like I pulled them out of a dumpster!

“Quentin goes to school like usual”? “They become increasing excited”? “Pours himself over the poem”?

Um, English… This isn’t the Allure beauty box insert. Isn’t the English language (and literacy) part of the point here?

To clarify before other commenters jump down my throat: I’m quoting from the cheat sheet that Ignite English put together, not from text written by the reviewer.
