D1 Milano Marble Face Watch - Retail Value $158.00

(Subscribers could pick between black and white)

While this watch isn't normally my style (I have an Apple Watch that I am quite partial to) I was surprised at how much I ended up liking it. While it looks bold and sturdy, it is surprisingly lightweight and the artist in me can't help but appreciate the marble face, each watch different and unique. It features a soft touch finish that feels great against my skin. It was way too big when I opened it, but thankfully it came with a very helpful link removal tool which was very simple to use, as long as you pay attention to the little arrows on the inside of the watchband which tells you what direction to remove the links from. The presentation was beautiful, and the watch itself came with a warranty card, though I have no idea how you would estimate the 1-year warranty since the date on the card was blank.

Purpose Planner Acrylic Weekly Calendar - Retail Value $64.00

(Subscribers could pick between horizontal and verticle orientation.)

So I have to say that this calendar truly should have come with a dry erase marker. I don't just have those hanging out in my home so I will have to make a little trip to buy some. This thing is pretty big, measuring 23.5 inches tall and 8 inches wide. It is actually a really beautiful addition to my home office and I plan on jotting down little notes to myself on it so I don't miss anything super important deadline-wise. I like how minimal and clean the clear acrylic is, and the brass corner bolts are very unique and pretty.

Issac Jacobs Stackable Acrylic Tray - Retail Value $24.00

(Subscribers could choose between silver, gold, or rose gold metallic accents.)

I am assuming this tray is meant for office supplies or makeup but if you are a weirdo like me, you will probably fill it with crystals and stones then proudly display them on your desk. This tray is really well made and heavier than it looks The low profile should fit easily into many drawers and give you a stylish way to display your rocks or lipsticks!

Happy Rebel Washable Paper Bags - Retail Value $56.00

These were easily the most interesting thing in this month's box for me, and I know you guys will have sizing questions so I took a photo holding them for reference below. I wish these bags looked closer to the images shown on the product website, but I think mine just need to be beaten up a little more. Since they are washable, I plan on maybe wetting and scrunching them to loosen them up and achieve that slouchy look. Bags like this are actually pretty useful in my house because I like to stash my plants in them as a very stylish pot. I actually have something similar made of cork that I have a Fiddleleaf Fig resting in. The large one is actually almost big enough to be a desk trashcan!

Here I am holding the small and large bags.

Just a quick shot of the smallest bag holding one of my desk plants. Don't plant them directly into these bags, but rather set their pots down inside. I would also recommend taking them out of the bags when watering or wet.

Verdict: This box has a retail listed value of about $302.00, which is great for a $100 box. I will say that these are items I don't think I would have bought individually, but I do love them! The watch is a great edgy choice for those days when my Apple Watch is dead (happens a lot because I am bad at charging!) and the marble face is very pretty. The wall calendar is so clean and modern and makes a great addition to my home office that makes me feel much more put together than I actually am. My new crystal tray is just gorgeous! I also weirdly love the metallic bag trio because they are kind of like a modern upgrade to the baskets I keep around my house and they have so many uses. I am overall pretty happy with this box!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, your first box will be the summer box. Don't fret though! If you have your heart set on the Spring box, you can buy it here for $115.

Value Breakdown: As this box costs $100, here is what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Calendar $21.19
  • Tray $7.95
  • Bags $18.54

Alternatively, each of these 4 items has an average cost of $25.00

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Where are the summer spoilers? It’s almost summer and not one spoiler!

I was wondering the same thing!

Marie

I’m wondering too, I just emailed them cause charges happen on June 1, and I’m not sure if I want it. 🦗🦗

Michelle

I don’t understand the bags at all. They are just shiny grocery bags aren’t they? Why do you have to take the plant out each time you water if they are water proof?

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

Hey Michelle! The boxes are probably going to be hit or miss depending on your decor style for sure. I love metallics with an organic twist and I tend to hoard baskets and bags to fill with craft supplies, plants, magazines, you name it!

@HappyRebelBox

Hi Michelle! Unlike regular grocery bags, these are washable and reusable, and while they can be washed, they are not waterproof. When using with an item like a plant, we recommend first placing a dish inside the bottom of the bag before the plant to protect the surface the bag and plant are sitting on, and the bag from deterioration from constant contact with moisture over time. Hope this helps!

Nice review! Not a fan of the hero item, but really like the other three, even more after reading through the review.

Thanks Bethany! The watch is a little out of my style comfort zone but I am impressed with the unique marble face for sure.

Carrie

Totally in love with those odd bags.

Megan K.

I have been slowly beating them up over the weekend and they do only get better with wear.

I’m on the fence about getting this box! I purchased the mystery box with the kiko black camera bag for $50. I was impressed with the box. I’m going to sound weird – I only want the acrylic tray and the bags! Lol. Yes, I want those bags. I already have a very expensive ceramic white designer watch and no need for a planner as I prefer a paper wall one. But not worth to buy the tray and bags on their own. First world problem. Lol.

Thank you Happy Rebel! You are officially my favorite box! I’ve subscribed to over 30 different boxes so this is a compliment. Customer Service was prompt in replying to my email with a dream come true fantastic curation! I’m so excited.

I’ve collected acrylic lucite items since the 80s. I’m so happy they are the rage now. I’m going to use those cool bags when I go to the marketplace. They’re perfect for my groceries – No ugly woven promotional ones for me.

Cynthia

Oh, wow this box would be a huge miss for me! The watch would be ok, but I cannot get behind the acrylic home decor trend. It just looks like cheap plastic to me…. I can’t be the only one who thinks this, right??
And those bags? I just don’t get the use for them.

cindy

Right there with ya, sister! Not my cup of tea.

Kim

I absolutely can not figure out what to do with the bags.

Kathy

Great idea to use the tray for crystals. I am going to do the same and add a few extra small trinkets as well.

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

I love trinket trays everywhere in my house. I think I am destined to be surrounded by small shiny things forever.

Flora

Megan, great review! You look gorgeous again and that lip color is so pretty on you. Which one is that? That acrylic tray looks the best with crystals in it. I see that Glossybox egg in the window! I love mine 😍

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

Thanks Flora! I THINK it might be RMS Beauty Wild with Desire Lipstick in ‘Temptation’. I got it in the BirchBox Clean Beauty LE a while ago and love the formula!

Allison

I can’t stand weekly calendars that don’t begin with Sunday, lol.

Christy

Seriously great idea to use the bag as a planter! THis is exactly why I need these reviews.

Did you actually try to hang the wall planner? I got the maintenance guy at work to hang mine in my office and he said it really wasn’t meant to hang on drywall; it was more meant to hang on wood. What?!

I wondered if my maintenance guy just doesn’t know what he’s talking about, or if anyone else had this problem. He ended up hanging it, but he had to drill giant holes in the wall and inject them with silicone so it would stick.

I am soooooo glad I didn’t try this at home.

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

I have not hung it yet because the walls of my office are 100-year-old plaster and I am a little afraid. I currently have it leaning on a shelf where it still looks shockingly good. I know that these types are generally hung via some sort of screw into your wall, then you attach just the ‘bullets to them, then twist on the tops after you put the actual clear part on

Reply ButtonReply

LB

I haven’t actually hung mine yet but I’m not sure why you wouldn’t be able to hang it on drywall. The “kit” is missing anchors and screws to mount the standoffs to the wall using the anchors, however. I have plaster walls in my almost 100 year old home so I am more worried about hanging it, though. I might just leave it resting, propped up somewhere or take it to work.

Mary

I didn’t get the box, but from looking at the review, I’m curious about hanging the calendar too. It doesn’t seem to have anything to attach it to a wall.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

I used to forget to charge my Apple watch but I bought a charging stand for it and my phone and I just throw them on in the evening.

If it weren’t for the bags I’d have ordered this for my mother.

Reply ButtonReply

Janie

I swapped for the watch and I absolutely love it! Got the white version and it has replaced my beloved Halcyon Days as my everyday watch. It’s one of the few watches I’ve seen that I will actually pay RV for if mine ever breaks!

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

I can’t get past the $56 RV of those bags. They are such a big part of the box – size-wise/take up a chunk of the picture. And so it looks like you’re paying $100 mainly for trash bags.

Reply ButtonReply

Sammee

I’m sure that the majority of people pay more attention to the RV of the items as opposed to the size of the items to determine if the cost of the box is worth it. For instance, a lot of boxes send out large beach towels but they rarely serve as the hero item.

kateC

I guess I don’t understand this comment. So you don’t like the composition of the picture? Because value wise they’re a small percentage of the entire box. I loved this box.
