Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Cream Shadow Stick in 'Stone', 1.25 g - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $22.00

(All subscribers get this item, but it looks like there might be shade variations.)

So I have to admit that I thought this was a lip crayon and wore it around the office. It isn't for your lips but I did get a compliment from Marne, so it must have still looked pretty nice! It is a very pretty smoky brown with a hint of pink in it. While it didn't have a ton of staying power on my lips (likely because it shouldn't have been there) it wore much better on my eyelids. The cream is very blendable and the 'Stone' color I received works well with my skin tone and was a great fit with my natural makeup vibes.

It has great coverage.

John Masters Organics for Normal Hair with  Lavender & Rosemary Shampoo, 2 oz - Estimated Value $4.75 (Buy a full size 8 oz for $19.00)

(I believe all subscribers get this item.)

Goodness, this shampoo smells amazing. I love a rosemary + lavender blend. It left my hair squeaky clean, just the way I like it! This formula features rosemary oil and in addition to the wonderful fragrance, this oil helps your hair grow long and strong. It lathered great and filled my shower with such a nice scent.

Glossybox April 2019 conditioner Glossybox April 2019 conditioner back

John Masters Organics for Normal Hair with Citrus & Neroli Conditioner - Estimated Value $4.75 (Buy a full size 8 oz here for $19.00)

(I believe all subscribers get this item.)

I liked this conditioner just as much as the shampoo. Scented with citrus and neroli oils, it left my strands feeling silky and healthy. The fragrance blended well with the lavender and rosemary from the shampoo and my whole bathroom was just heavenly. I only use conditioner on my ends and this let me easily detangle my strands just with my fingertips while still in the shower.

Derma E Overnight Peel, 0.25 oz - Estimated Value $2.25 (Buy a full size 2 oz for $18.00)

(I believe all subscribers get this item.)

I love a good peel, and this one is a really good price for what it is. This formula has a 5% AHA blend which is wonderful for removing dead skin cells from your skin. Simply apply this at night and let those acids do their work while you sleep. I always apply a moisturizer after using a formula like this because they can be drying. You will also want to make sure to wear some sunscreen if you are using anything with AHAs since your skin can be especially sensitive to the sun. If you are new to AHA formulas maybe give this one a shot every other day to see what you think!

BYBI Plumper Natural Lip Balm, 0.35 oz - FULL SIZE! Retail Value $11.77 (£9)

(I believe all subscribers get this item.)

This lip balm promises fuller lips and contains both peppermint and chili. You can absolutely feel a tingle when you wear this and a little bit of burning. This sensation is not awful, and though I didn't notice a huge difference in my lips (they are pretty full without much help) I liked the velvety feel of this gloss and it did leave my lips incredibly hydrated.

Glossybox April 2019 kiehls cream Glossybox April 2019 kiehls cream back Glossybox April 2019 cream detail

Kiehl's Glow Formula Skin Hydrator, 0.17 fl oz each - Total Estimated Value $7.60 (Buy a full size 1.7 fl oz for $38.00)

(All subscribers get this item.)

I am going to admit that I am a little sad we didn't get a full-size Kiehl's product since it was the really exciting teaser int he booklet last month. At least they sent along two mini samples. This formula looks orange until you apply it, then it disappears. It does give your skin a nice glow without adding color and the finish is satin and looks very natural. It smells really great and absorbs easily, meaning your foundation will sit on top of it beautifully, giving you a radiance from within look. You can also wear this on your bare face in the summer for a healthy glow.

Verdict: GlossyBox was all about clean beauty this month. My favorite item would have to be that spicy lip plumper. I can never have enough lip products. You should see inside my purse! The shampoo and conditioner sets were both very nice and smelled wonderful. The peel is a great little size for travel or if you are new to AHA formulas and want to give t a try without an investment. The eyeshadow stick was a lovely color on my lids and my lips. I still feel a little 'meh' about the Kiehl's samples, but the cream is a solid product and I am happy to get two. This box has a value of around $53.12, which is good for this $21 box.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Glossybox is a terrible company with horrible customer service. Do not give them your credit or debit card. They will automatically charge you even if you cancel. Read their terms of agreement and be ready to get a new debit card if you order and cancel your trapped. Not a good business and terrible to target young girls.

The quality of Glossy Box has really declined over this past years, and this was the worst of all. To be honest, I’ve kept my subscription only because of the quality of the box the items come in. We used to get almost all full size products. Now very rarely. We get repeat items within a couple months of the last ones. None of these items are expensive and even one full sized item would have barely exceeded the cost of th he box. I’ll give it one more month and then will cancel if it continues like this.

I just subscribed to this box to try it with the one month free and I am VERY disappointed. These are “free” sample sized items. I saw the Glossy box exclusive to the U.K. and it was far better than what this box had. If this is what they will be sending I will be canceling my subscription shortly. ☹️

I disliked everything I got in my box and such tiny sample size , glad I cancelled my sub with them .

I really think this box needs to consider lowing the price to the $15 range. I see it more comparable with Macys & Allure subscriptions. I don’t see the value along side subscriptions like boxycharm, beauty fix, glam bag plus or beauty test tube. The products are the same type of brands in almost every subsciption box. A few of those products I have received in Allure previously.

I guess I’m weird, but this is the first Glossybox I’ve been interested in since forever ago. Tempted to buy with the discount, but I don’t want to get stuck with another month’s box.

The nice thing about this sub is that you can cancel online.

Analeesa

Glad I canceled!! Yes, it was easy and now even easier to not re-sub. What I do not understand is why the UK version is incredible and the one is now such a disappointment,

Deborah

This box is disappointing. I received Glossybox for a few months but stopped because I thought the value wasn’t there. I think including trial size shampoo and conditioner as 2 of the 5 box items is totally chintzy..They need to keep up with the pace of their competition or they will be out of business..

I don’t like Kiehls or dermaE but the other items look great.

Same here. I don’t like Kiehl’s and Derma E, and I try to avoid them in any Beauty Box.

If you’re a box that’s in the $20 range you’re up against boxycharm and ipsy plus which give only full size items that being said a deluxe sample isnt bad if it’s a high end product like the 111skin serum in the regular ipsy bag I’m getting that full size is $350 and my sample size is one third of the size making it worth almost $100.

Here the samples are of products that aren’t that expensive to begin with or even new releases to at least bring a little excitement. Overall it feels blah.

If this box wasnt sent to you for free would you subscribe to it if you had to a actually pay for it?

I love your reviews! Seeing the products dispensed out on a tray is so much more helpful than just swatched on an arm. I am really picky about product consistency. Thanks!!!

Thanks so much TK! I love that we do that now too because I am also rather picky. 🙂

That box value was nowhere near $53.00 . More like $15.00. I get better stuff from Ipsy.

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

Hey Sharon! We try to break down the values based on the actual retail values and calculate those down proportionally based on the size we receive! Hope that gives a little clarity of where those numbers come from. 🙂

What happened to Glossy box? I used to subscribe about 3 years ago and I loved it. I think it’s really gone downhill.

With coupons I got glossybox for $13 a box. Not bad at all. So I signed up for an annual sub.

I do agree this month’s box is not great. I HATE getting shampoo and conditioner in boxes!! I love hair masks, but shampoo and conditioner are just too personal to get in a beauty box without extreme beauty profiles that they actually follow. That is my number one most hated item. I sure wish they would stop this, I have such long and thick hair that I can get maybe one use, if that, out of them and I don’t like to try new shampoo and conditioners. I love my Aussie moist so so much I’ll never stray. Plus the Theories charcoal bamboo detoxifying hair mask (that I think I got in this sub) really just makes my hair look beautiful and has so much more body and just life. But if you use this, do not put it on your roots! It will give you the worst dandruff ever, and I’ve never had dandruff in my life. I didn’t realize that until I read the directions! LOL. You think a hair mask is a hair mask. But when used mid shaft and down, OMG it’s wonderful. I have 3 holy grails and this is one of them. Drunk elephant babyfacial and Estee lauder double wear foundation are my other two.

Anyhoo, I do not think that glossybox has completely gone to heck. I think that it is not worth $21 most months but it’s most definitely worth about $15. They have so many great deals so if you’re interested, just keep a lookout. I’ve seen them on Groupon, and MSA also posts lot of them too. I got 30% off an annual subscription (3 and 6 months were 30% off too) so that’s wonderful.

I am extremely happy with glossybox at that $13 price. Although their sister company, look fantastic, is probably a little better for a lot of people.

But I personally usually prefer glossybox because of the variety and the fact that they don’t put in too much make up in. I really overdid it with beauty boxes and I have so much make up that it’s obscene. I’ve donated so much to local charities I mentor at too. With skin care and hair care, I tend to use them up so much quicker.

I had used a discount code too but only got my per box amount to ~$14.50. I think there is value to me but not for the full $21 per box price.

I had been pretty content with most months I’ve received so far, but this one is definitely my least liked. I am not a fan of shampoo/conditioner in my subs as I have a brand I’ve used for years and while I’ve tried others, I’ve just never found any that could replace my brand in effectiveness and price. Also, my shampoo came with the cap loose and spilled 1/3 of it making a mess. I sent a message to customer service so I’ll see if they respond.

I plan on only keeping 1-2 items from this box and giving away/swapping the rest which is definitely the worst month so far.

Courtney

Wow

amarante

Not one of their great boxes either in curation or value.

The Juice eye shadow stick is the only item that is real value so if you are underwhelmed (as I am) by it, the rest of the items don’t make up for it.

While shampoo is nice, I don’t find $19 bottles of shampoo and conditioner to offer a better hair experience so I value tiny bottles of any shampoo at about 50 cents :-).

I also am quite disappointed that the Kiehls item was two samples versus one full size item. If that had been included, the box would have been the normal value Glossy Boxes generally are.

Tina Ames

I also feel the value this month was not good, usually Glossybox has a value of 75.00 or more,50.00 is way on the lower end for this box.

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

compared to normal is was a little low, but I am always comfortable with a box that gives me at least double value of the cost.

I just came back after a long absence.. guess it was the free month and discount for Easter and Mother’s day. Guess its just me but this box is boring for $21.. compare it to Ipsy, Boxy, Beautyfix and it loses.. even Allure and Birchbox at $10 to $15 are more interesting and frequently have a higher value. Will be gone after my 3 months

Reply ButtonReply

Lulu

I think Birchbox/Ipsy have better sizes at this point.
