Bonjour Jolie March 2019 "Hello Spring" Review

The theme for Bonjour Jolie this month is "Hello Spring" and we didn't receive any insert describing the products like we usually do.

Let's start with the goods. All of your menstrual products will come in a discreet bag that fits in with the theme and this pink floral bag definitely feels like spring!

When you sign up, you can choose up to 20 different menstrual products in any combination of tampons, pads, and liners. They offer a great selection of items from brands like Always, Kotex, and OB. You can check their selection out before you commit though, in case you are someone who has a preferred brand.

U by Kotex Click Regular (10)- Buy 18 for $3.89

U by Kotex Overnight (7) - Buy 28 for $6.99

Kotex Long Liners (3) - Buy 16 for $0.99

You can change your selections at any time by editing your profile, but keep in mind there might be a delay if you need to switch up your needs each month. The ability to switch it up is what I really like about this box and the fact that you can try new things without committing to an entire box of products. This month I received 10 tampons, 7 pads, and 3 liners.

Summer's Eve Cleansing Cloths in Aloe Love (2) - Buy a box of 16 for $5.94

Cleansing cloths like these seem to be in every box which is nice because I have a great little stash for when I might need them to freshen up.

Advil to Go Packs (2) –  Buy 50 packets for $9.98

These little packets each have two pills, just enough to help with cramps or headaches while on the go.

Curly Cues Boutique Hair Ties (set of 10) - Estimated Value $8? (pricing for these on Etsy is all over the place, but I went somewhere in the middle since these included a few patterned and shimmery styles.)

These hair ties are great for spring and summer! I love the cheery colors and all of the shimmer they have to them. These stretchy hair ties are super comfortable and they are cute to wear around your wrist too, and not quite as tight as traditional elastic hair ties. I love that they included 10 of them and in several different colors.

Bonjour Jolie Lip Balm in Shimmer Berry - Estimated Value $3.99 (In the past this is what their lip balm has retailed for, but I couldn't find it on their site for sale any longer!)

I have received lip balms from them before and they are always decent quality and I like that they are made from natural ingredients. This one contains organic sunflower oil, olive oil, and avocado oil along with nourishing ingredients like cocoa and shea butter. It smells like strawberries and has the slightest hint of shimmer to it which is barely noticeable.

Blissful Apothecary Flowering Bath Tea - Estimated Value $8? (There is no sizing on this, but it looks like this would be about three tea bags worth so I went somewhere in the middle of the $5-$13 range I was seeing!)

This flowering tea bath is so pretty and I love that it comes with three tea bags to use! It makes it so much easier to indulge and relax since you won't have to clean flower petals out of your drain. I love all the bits of whole flowers including jasmine, hibiscus, calendula, chamomile, and rose petals which all make for a beautiful spring-inspired mix. The smell is nice and relaxing, too.

Skinny Pop Popcorn in White Cheddar (0.5 oz bag) - Buy 12 - 1 oz. bags for $14.99

This skinny popcorn was actually a nice treat! It didn't taste fake or too chewy like some other healthy popcorns I have tried, but instead, it just had a very light flavor to it. Unfortunately, my son is a popcorn fiend so I didn't get to enjoy this bag by myself, but at least I know there is a healthy version we can all enjoy next time!

The rest of our goodies all came packaged together in this pretty pink mesh bag.

Lorna Doone Shortbread Cookies (6 pack) - Buy a box of 30 for $13.99

I am not a big shortbread cookie fan, but I do appreciate that they included a classic brand like this. The package is pretty generous with 6 cookies inside and my kids were all too happy to take them off my hands!

Annie's Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks in Berry Patch and Summer Strawberry (1 each) - Buy a 12 pack box for $8.24

I was actually happy to see these two packs of fruit snacks in my box because I had been thinking of trying them for the kids, so this was a great way to test them out! The strawberry flavor was really strong and good, but something about the texture of these was a little bit too gelatinous I think? I didn't care much for the berry flavor, but fortunately, the kids both liked these so now I know they will make a good organic treat for them in the future!

Almond Joy Candy Bar - Retail Value $0.89

Whenever we get a full-size candy bar I get excited - probably because it reminds me of what it was like to get a full-size candy bar on Halloween when I was a kid! Even better, Almond Joys are one of my favorites, so this bar will be saved for a day when I am in need of a delicious chocolate fix!

Hershey Kisses (5)- Buy an 11 oz bag for $3.59

We also received a handful of pastel Hershey Kisses. Extra chocolate is always welcome!

Smash Mallow Fun Size (2) in Mint Chocolate Chip and Cinamon Churro - Buy a 25 count bag for $7.00

I have seen these around and have been curious about them! I usually only like marshmallows in my S'mores or on my hot cocoa, but these intrigued me! I opted to try the mint chocolate chip one first and while I liked the bits of chocolate, it wasn't my favorite. The mint flavor was really subtle. The cinnamon churro one was actually better to me with its nice crunchy layer of cinnamon and sugar on the outside. I don't think I'll be buying these for myself any time soon, but I can't say I would turn another one down!

Davidson's Assorted Organic Teas (3 bags) - Buy a box of 8 teabags for $2.95

I love that they send a few tea bags every month and that there is always some variation in the flavors they send. I love rooibos chai so I am excited to try that one, but I was in the mood for the lemon mango tea at the time and it did not disappoint! It was very flavorful and definitely something I'd purchase!

Verdict: This month's Bonjour Jolie box was a bit heavy on the snacks, which I didn't mind, but it also wasn't as wonderfully curated as previous boxes had been. I still liked it and thought that there was a good spring theme, but it didn't wow me like they have done in the past (see my November and January reviews for example). As for value, I really have no idea if I am even close, but I estimated about $30.74 for this box that costs $24.48/month ($16.50 + $0.99 tax + $6.99 shipping). Since that is a really rough estimate, it might make more sense to take the average of the 15 different items which would mean each type of item costs about $1.63, which sounds like a pretty decent value to me! There is also the added convenience of getting your monthly products delivered to your door along with a few sweet surprises.

Do not subscribe to Bonjour Jolie. I have now been subscribed long enough to have paid for four boxes from them and I haven’t seen a single one. The first one I contacted Bonjour Jolie and received a tracking number for, and it got stuck in a warehouse somewhere in Florida. The rest I have heard and seen nothing about. The Bonjour Jolie customer service team is practically unreachable. After giving me a tracking number for my first box they have refused to contact me. In refusing to contact me they also refuse to unsubscribe me from their service.
They are stealing my money. Absolute scam. I need a refund and I need to unsubscribe. I ordered my first box on March 7th and still have not seen it 2 months later. I began emailing them asking for a replacement on April 21st and have received no reply for a month. I asked to be unsubscribed on May 5th and have received no reply for 10 days. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO BONJOUR JOLIE.
