Sudsy Club April 2019 Review
Here is the info booklet for the box. Sudsy is a new subscription that officially starts with the month of April, but they sent the box early for review. If you sign up now, however, you will be able to get your box early and you’ll be entered to win two free years of Sudsy!
Eucalyptus Lavender Silk Bar – Retail Value $5.95
Right off the bat, I felt fancy thanks to the pretty paper wrapping encasing my soap. Eucalyptus and lavender are a few of my favorite scents, so this was the first soap I tried. I was really intrigued by the concept of cruelty-free silk, too. This bar is made with Tussah Silk, which is harvested after the silkworm has left and abandoned their cocoon! This soap was incredibly nourishing thanks to the shea butter and sulk, and the scent was gentle and not overpowering.
Cocoa Mint Silk Bar – Retail Value $5.95
More silk soap! This has the same nourishing qualities of the one above, only cocoa powder has been added to the mix along with peppermint and spearmint essential oils.
This is definitely the most beautiful soap in the box- look at those color striations!
Lemon Delight Soap – Retail Value $5.95
This soap is the only non-silk one in the bunch, and instead, it is made with French Green Clay. The fresh lemon scent is zesty and refreshing, and the scent really bloomed in the hot water of an early morning shower when I wanted to still be in bed. Even though this didn't have silk, I still found it to be very moisturizing to my skin.
Bath and Body Sponge – Retail Value $6.95
Each Sudsy Club box will come with one non-soap item, and this month it is a sponge. I actually don’t use body sponges often, so I was a bit delighted to see how foamy the soap became once I rubbed it against the damp sponge. This provided a mild exfoliation, and I think I may be a sponge convert.
Verdict: There is no denying the quality of the soaps in this box. All three bars were nourishing and didn't leave my skin feeling tight. All of these soaps were really well-balanced when it came to fragrance, too. Sometimes soaps can be so strongly scented you can leave them on the sink and it'll fill the entire room. These soaps are much more gentle in nature, and they will delicately perfume your skin without smelling harsh. I am happy this is a bi-monthly subscription, too. I definitely wouldn't be able to go through three bars of high-quality soap in one month! The only thing that I find to be a drawback is the cost: this subscription costs $25 every other month, including free shipping, and I calculated a total value of $24.80. There is the added bonus of free shipping when you subscribe, but I think you'll have to decide if the free shipping is worth not being able to choose your soap scents.
