Stitch Fix Kids March 2019 Review

Stitch Fix Kids Boy February 2019 return envelope

In every Stitch Fix Kids box, they include a pre-paid shipping envelope for returns.

I think it is cute that the information sheet has a maze on it for your kid, plus stickers, and the inside flaps of the shipping box have some activities and ideas for how to play with the box, too!

Here's the item list of the clothing they selected for my son, and their individual prices. The items total $219 but with my $20 styling fee applied, and the keep-everything 25% off discount, the total adds up to be $144.25.

The reverse of that card shows photos of each item (which I love because it makes it easy to reference the pricing sheet).

Toms Lenny Mid Top Velcro Sneakers, Navy - Cost to Keep: $38

I like the style of these Toms shoes. The chambray look is cute and would go with just about any outfit. My main reason for not keeping these, though, is that the soles are really stiff. They were hard to bend at all and I know that, with as much as my 3-year-old loves to run, they wouldn't give him the flexibility and function he needs from sneakers and he'd probably end up tripping.

Joules Ben Short Sleeve Graphic Tee, size 4 - Cost to Keep: $16

I love this shirt! I think it's so cute. My dad is a big F1 racing fan so it makes me think of him. The material is also very soft and a nice thickness. You can see this on him below, with matching joggers!

Joules Nico Novelty Cotton-Poly Blend Knit Jogger, Size 5 - Cost to Keep: $24

Matching joggers! SO cute. I love the little novelty applique race car by the pocket. This whole outfit fits Gideon really well and is a comfortable play set. Also, from looking these items up on Joules' website and feeling the quality of this set, I can see I actually really like a lot of their designs. I can add Joules to the list of brands I really like for his Stitch Fix stylist.

Hollywood Alec Short Sleeve Graphic Tee, size 4 - Cost to Keep: $16

The artwork for this tee is adorable. I love all the illustrations related to adventuring, camping, and wilderness. The color's also great. The unique thing about this shirt is that the map and the tent are actually physical flaps that lift up. It's a cute concept but I'm concerned the flaps would curl after washing. He thought they were fun, though.

Hollywood Calloway Poplin Graphic Jogger, Size 5 - Cost to Keep: $20

Another set with a coordinating tee and joggers! These joggers are lightweight, stretchy, and feature a little bear applique that has a mouth that zippers open! There's not really a pocket inside or anything, but it's a cute detail that's fun for fidgeting.

Joe's Jeans Lambert Stretch Twill Cargo Jogger, size 5 - Cost to Keep: $24

As soon as I picked these pants out of the box that they were made well - they have a little heft to them and the fabric is stretchy but thick. I could tell these would wash well and last a long time. Unfortunately, something about the twill fabric meant that it picked up every tiny bit of lint they could find. You can tell in the close up photos of these. We don't have pets, so I don't keep lint rollers handy. I'm all about super low maintenance kids clothes, so I wasn't sure about keeping these, and sent them back.

Tea Collection Gibson Geo Long Sleeve Graphic Tee, size 4 - Cost to Keep: $18

Tea Collection is a great brand. This tee is made with 100% cotton jersey, which I love. The design of this graphic has an interesting story, too:

"Designed in collaboration with Native Artist Jeff Gibson, this one-of-a-kind graphic tee pays homage to traditional Choctaw and Cherokee designs."

Joules Long Sleeve Graphic Pocket Tee, size 4 - Cost to Keep: $20

My son loves all things space and rockets and I could tell he really liked this tee. He had a lot to say about the rocket flying up off his shirt!

Primary the Gym Short, Size 4/5 - Cost to Keep: $15

Primary is another brand that I love because I love their foundational concept: keeping things simple with solids and basic patterns like strips and polka dots. All their items come in a wide range of standardized colors so it's a great resource for coordinating photo shoot outfits or just finding great basics without any crazy graphics or big logos. These shorts feel like a great quality and are very soft. The waistband seemed very comfortable and they feature actual pockets.

The Verdict: This was an awesome Stitch Fix for Gideon this month! I loved the playfulness of this month's selections and we had no fit issues whatsoever. I'm always happy with the quality of everything they send, too. The pieces we've kept over the course of our subscriptions have washed and held up well and have been some of his favorite pieces to wear. I know these pieces will last and get passed down to my younger son. I think the prices are pretty reasonable for the quality. I also like that there are so many items sent - even if you just want to pick one item so you don't lose out on your styling fee, it's not hard to find at least one thing to love without spending much more than you already have with your fee.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what we got, but you will probably get something that fits your child's style and size even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 (styling fee) with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $219. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, and if I keep all items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the box is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $144 if I kept everything. That's a total discount of about 35% off retail.
