Sooni Mask Pouch March 2019 Review
Here is the info sheet for the box, with the length of time you should wear each mask detailed. Also, since I also receive the Sooni Pouch, this pouch of sheet masks was tucked into the larger packaging.
On the other side of my info sheet is a note that my pouch was prepared by Julie!
Nature Republic Real Nature Chamomile Hydrogel Mask – Retail Value $2.90 (currently out of stock)
I love hydrogels, so I was a bit surprised that I didn't love this mask. Usually, hydrogel masks are super cooling, but this one wasn't very cooling at all- and it didn't fit my face well, either, even though it came in two parts. This was soothing to wear, but I wouldn't reach for it again.
Labute Revive the Skin Pink Rose Mask – Retail Value $2.76
I really love rose in skincare products, so sheet masks like these are always welcome. This had a natural rose scent that I found to be very pleasant, and the mask fit my face well. Rose is such a calming skin care ingredient, and my skin looked refreshed when I was done wearing this.
A’Pieu Real Big Yogurt Strawberry Mask – Retail Value $2
I was introduced to A’Pieu through subscription boxes over a year ago, and now I can confidently say they are one of my favorite K-Beauty brands. This mask is made with yogurt, probiotics, and strawberry fruit extract. It smells like strawberry and has a plastic backing that makes unfolding the mask easy. My skin felt nourished when I was done wearing it, and I thought the strawberry scent made it fun.
TonyMoly Fresh To Go Pineapple Mask – Retail Value $4
This mask was an interesting experience. I wasn’t excited to try it, because it has alcohol pretty high up on the ingredient list. But I love pineapple so I gave it a shot anyways. It was pretty saturated with serum, which made it the perfect mask to use with a jade roller. I pulled my jade roller out of the fridge, rolled my face with the mask on it (and it smells like pineapple juice!), and then almost immediately fell asleep because of how relaxing it was. When I woke up my skin was absolutely glowing. I would probably use it again for the results, but I am a bit bummed that Tony Moly felt it necessary to include alcohol in the ingredients list.
Missha Pure Sure Pocket Aloe Sleeping Pack – Retail Value $2.09 (€ 1.85)
Regular subscribers received the honey sleeping pack, but since I got that in a different Sooni Pouch this month they included a note saying they subbed in the aloe version so I wouldn’t have duplicates. I love the portability of these pocket sleeping packs- perfect for traveling, which is usually when your skin needs the extra hydration, too. Along with aloe this mask also has hyaluronic acid and allantoin, so it’s a very nourishing sleeping mask. I also appreciate getting a sleeping mask among the sheet masks this month, as it adds some fun variety.
Skin Planet Gold Lifting Mask
This mask is made with 24k gold and is designed to brighten dull complexions and hydrate your skin. I am pretty sure that the gold molecule is too big to actually penetrate your skin, but appreciate the fact that it makes me feel fancier. The serum on this was really milky, and it fit my face well. My favorite part was how cooling this was to wear- the cooling sensation is one of my favorite parts of doing a sheet mask!
The Verdict: If you enjoy sheet masking, I honestly think the Sooni Mask Pouch is the most affordable subscription box that exclusively focuses on masks. I thought this month was a good mix of well-known brands (A’Pieu and TonyMoly) and lesser-known brands (Skin Planet and Labute). I couldn’t find a value for the Skin Planet Mask, but the value of the other five comes to $12.85, which is more than the cost of the box. Considering the price per mask breaks down to $1.67, it is hard to be unhappy even if not all masks are a great fit.
