Sephora Favorites: Pro Artists Picks Kit Review

Sephora Glow Box March 2019 - Bag Top

Here is the bag the items came in- I absolutely love it, and honestly a big part of me wanted this kit for the bag alone.

Sephora Glow Box March 2019 - Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder In Illuminati Top Sephora Glow Box March 2019 - Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder In Illuminati Open Top

Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Illuminati, 0.04 oz – Estimated Value $6.75 (buy the full-size version for $27)

This is a new brand to me, and I was excited to try it. This is a loose powder highlighter, and the tiny sample packaging didn’t do the product any favors in terms of how difficult it was to get the product out. That being said, I liked how subtle this could be applied- but the pointy end of a damp beauty blender added a wow factor real quick.

Sephora Glow Box March 2019 - Benefit Cosmetics High Beam Liquid Face Highlighter Front Sephora Glow Box March 2019 - Benefit Cosmetics High Beam Liquid Face Highlighter Open Front

Benefit Cosmetics High Beam Liquid Face Highlighter, 0.13 oz – Retail Value $12

In a world of so many highlighters, I was surprised by how much I liked this little guy. It starts off sheer and then can be built up, and it blends out beautifully. The glow this gives is subtle, too- there are no large chunks of glitter anywhere.

Sephora Glow Box March 2019 - Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops In Moonlight Front Sephora Glow Box March 2019 - Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops In Moonlight Open Top

Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in Moonlight, 0.1 oz – Estimated Value $8.40 (buy the full-size version for $42)

You know the feeling that you get when you buy something from the vending machine and two items pop out? That’s how I felt when I realized, by mistake, there were two Cover FX drops in my bag. This is a shimmery liquid that can be used as a blinding highlight, and I like using it in eyeshadow looks too. Moonlight gives a soft, silver glow, and if you are scared by the intensity of the glow I suggest adding a few drops to your liquid foundation instead!

Sephora Glow Box March 2019 - Fenty Beauty By Rihanna Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick In Starstruck Front Sephora Glow Box March 2019 - Fenty Beauty By Rihanna Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick In Starstruck Open Front

Fenty Beauty By Rihanna Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in Starstruck, 0.1 oz – Estimated Value $10 (buy the full-size version for $25)

Considering how often I am at Sephora, this is my first ever Fenty product! Starstruck is described as an iced-out pearl, but it definitely has some golden undertones. I was a bit at a loss at how to use this on my face considering the warm bronze undertones- it is too light to be a true bronzer, but a touch dark to be a highlighter for my face. My solution was to blend it out on top of my matte bronzer that I applied in a halo around my face, and I was happy with the very subtle warmth this gave my face.

Sephora Glow Box March 2019 - Milk Makeup Luminous Blur Stick Front Sephora Glow Box March 2019 - Milk Makeup Luminous Blur Stick Open Front

Milk Makeup Luminous Blur Stick, 0.20 oz – Retail Value $14

This is an oil-free primer designed to blur the look of imperfections, and unlike most other blurring primers this is also silicone free. I want to love it, but I actually miss the silicones- they work well for me, and without them, this didn't have the staying power to not be wiped off my cheeks towards the end of the day.

Sephora Glow Box March 2019 - Glow Swatch

Here are the swatches. From top to bottom we have the Fenty, the Benefit High-Beam, the Artist Couture Powder, and the Cover FX. Underneath that is another Cover FX swipe, but blended out to show you its versatility.

Sephora Glow Box March 2019 - Glow Selfie

Here is the look I did with three of the products. After doing my base of foundation, I took my matte bronzer (NARS Laguna) and dusted it around the edges of my face and the sides of my nose, I then took the Fenty and swiped it on top before blending it out with the round end of a damp beauty blender. I used the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Eyeshadow Quad on my eyes, and then I took the Cover FX drops and applied it to the inner third of my eyelids to brighten it up (almost in a quasi cut-crease). Finally, I took the pointy end of my damp beauty blender and applied the Artist Couture highlighter to my cheekbones and the tip of my nose. I finished with my holy grail mascara, Benefit Bad Gal Bang. I loved the finished look, and I attribute 75% of it to the Glow for it Kit and 25% to my iPhones natural lighting portrait mode.

The Verdict: This kit was already a winner because of the amazing holographic bag, but I was surprised by how versatile the products were - it is easy to create a subtle, glowing look while using multiple items in one go. The Milk primer was a miss for me, but other than that everything else was a winner. Value-wise, Sephora promised a $55 value, and by my math, this kit has a total value of $51.15.

You’re dead on with the artist couture container being too small. I put it in an old stellar powder container I had. Much bigger and so much easier to use. I have this set and absolutely love all items.

Me: I do not need any more highlighters. I have a ton. In fact, I got one today in my Look Fantastic box. I really shouldn’t buy this.

Also me: but they’re so pretty! And I don’t have any in these particular brands. Sooooo. Decide to head to Sephora’s app to buy more highlighters.
