Orglamix is a vegan and cruelty-free beauty subscription containing loose shadows, glitter pigments, aromatherapy roll-ons, and more. Many of the items in the subscription will be unique tov the subscription and not available in the Orglamix shop (although they will have the same great formula).

They are now doing custom box prints every month and they’re quite pretty.

Orglamix kindly provided this box at no cost for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Orglamix March 2019 “Goddess” Box Review

This month’s theme is “Goddess.” Let’s see how Orglamix incorporated that theme into the month’s items:

The box came with an information card detailing the items and theme for January. It sometimes also lists ingredients, which is nice since these items aren’t typically available in their online shop.

Aphrodite Whipped Blush – Listed Value $18

This looks like a light color but it is best to apply it with a light hand. Because it packs way more color than you might expect. I got it right for my first cheek when I tried it out but I got a little too much on the second cheek and it was like instant clown face and I had to put more foundation and powder on over it to tone it down. But I am super pale and if you have a darker skin tone this may not be an issue for you.

Iris Soy Candle – Listed Value $12

I think this might be the first time I got a candle from Orglamix. It burns pretty evenly and you don’t realize it at the time, but the scent does fill up at least a small room. (I put it in my basement exercise room, which tends to get a bit musty because the air doesn’t circulate well, and it definitely helped improve things down there.)

Nyx Lip Balm Butter – Listed Value $7

Haha, my dog is named Nyx. I wouldn’t want her making lip butter. But this is nicely moisturizing and does not have any tint to it and I will probably mostly be using it at night, before bed, because you can kind of pile on a lot since it comes in a little jar.

Persephone Hand and Body Scrub – Listed Value $18

This is a pretty color. It has kind of a fruity/herbal tea scent that I find pleasant. It is very low on oil, which I also appreciate. Scrubs are some of my favorite bath and body items to receive in beauty subscription boxes so of course, I was happy to see this. I tried it out on my upper arms and I think it was effective at exfoliating. (I am not going to use a scrub on my hands; they are cracked and bleeding from cold and low humidity. But it’s a good body scrub!)

Orglamix “Goddess” Box Review March 2019 - Eos Natural Eyeshadow TopOrglamix “Goddess” Box Review March 2019 - Eos Natural Eyeshadow Swatched On Hand Top

Eos Natural Eyeshadow – Listed Value $12.50

Something was wrong with the little sticker that covered the holes in this shadow, so when I opened it, I got powder everywhere, and in my haste to clean up, I guess I forgot to take a picture of the open shadow. But you can see the color (top) in the swatch photo, which also shows the blush (bottom). The shadow is a medium pink that’s not too highly pigmented. These eyeshadows blend well and don’t irritate my sensitive eyes, and this is the only time I’ve ever made a mess opening one.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $67.50 for the March Orglamix subscription box. The items this month were all exclusive for this box, so I had to rely a lot on the information card but they seem in line with past boxes. I thought the colors were wearable and that the overall variety of items was great. I will use everything (which I can’t say about every beauty box I receive!) so the value is definitely there for me.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, this was March’s box and they say they ship around the 10th (in practice, it may be a week or two after that before the box actually ships, although this month’s box was received somewhat later than usual). You’d probably get the April box as your first one.

Value Breakdown: At $34.95 per box, here’s approximately what you are paying per item:

  • Blush $9.32
  • Candle $6.21
  • Lip butter $3.62
  • Scrub $9.32
  • Eyeshadow $6.47

I was curious because I never received any tracking or box for February. I wrote to them around the 2nd week of March and was told that there was probably one left that they would send. It was described as a box of “Cult Favorites but for me seemed like leftovers and duplicates.

Did you receive a February Box?

Ragan

No, I didn’t.

But since they send this to me for review, and I am not a paying subscriber, I usually just figure they sold out or forgot if I don’t see one. If this is not the case, and any subscribers are missing February boxes, please let us know in the comments. Thanks!

Shame, because it looks like a nice box.
