Lola Sexual Wellness Kit + Guide Review

Everything comes in this really nice reusable "keepsake" box which has dividers inside and can be used as a pretty handy bedside organizer.

There's a short info card that gives you all the info you need on how the subscription works, as well as a coupon for $5.00 off.

Lola Guide to Sexual Wellness

I think this guide is the star of the box. Even as a 38-year-old woman (who admittedly isn't the most sexually educated) I learned quite a few things from this 51-page booklet, written by the Lola team along with two female Doctors (one a gynecologist, one a naturopathic doctor and medical researcher). It spans basics like the anatomies of the male and female reproductive systems, forms of birth control, and common STIs, to more nuanced topics like masturbation, how to talk to your partner about sex, and foreplay. While this guide doesn't have a value attached to it, I find it to be super helpful to all levels of sexual active parties: new or advanced.

Lola Travel Pouch

Including a carryall pouch is a great idea! This little rubbery zipper bag is 6 inches wide and stands up on its own due to it's 2-inch deep base. It has a sturdy plastic zipper with a branded metal pull that keeps everything inside secure. The inside is also made with a slick rubbery material so any messes cleanup easy. This has enough room for everything from the kit (except the book) with plenty of room to spare for makeup, contacts solution, or anything else you may need for an overnight stay.

Lola Personal Lubricant, 1.7 oz. - Retail Value $14.00

Lubrication is, of course, an important part of sex. Lola knows this and has included one of their 1.7-ounce bottles in the kit. It's small enough to travel with or stash in a bedside drawer but holds plenty of product to last many eventful activities. What I really like about this bottle is that it has a slick locking pump so if you do toss this in a carryon, it won't accidentally get squished and leak all over everything. The lube itself has a viscosity that's thick enough to hold shape when pumped out but is incredibly slippery and even smells a little sweet like vanilla. This is due to the organic vanilla and organic lemon for naturally infused flavor, even though upon a quick taste test I didn't get much of either. It also happens to be ultra moisturizing, so once the fun is over, your skin is left feeling super soft (probably due to the organic aloe leaf juice ingredient). Overall, I find this to be really high quality and luxurious!

Lola Ultra Thin Lubricated Latex Condoms, 5 ct - Estimated Retail Value $5.45 (Buy a box of 12 for $11.00)

You can't have a sexual wellness kit without condoms. Lola has its own brand of these as well made with natural rubber latex and pre-lubricated with 100% locally-sourced, medical-grade silicone oil. The matte bluish-grey packaging begs to win some sort of design award and matches the included pouch perfectly. You get 5 to try in the kit, but they come 12 to a box if you decide to subscribe to their replenishment service.

Lola Cleansing Wipes, 5 ct - Estimated Retail Value $5.45 (Buy a box of 12 for $11.00)

The final product of the kit is Lola's own cleansing wipes. Sex isn't always tidy, so these little wipes can be stowed in your bag or in a drawer to clean up afterward while maintaining a healthy vaginal pH balance. They're made with 100% bamboo soaked in a purified water solution, biodegradable (although not flushable), hypoallergenic, and Gynecologist approved. Not just for the most sensitive area of your body, they can be used anywhere you want to freshen up so they can even be used at the gym after a workout. It's about the size of a tissue, so there's just enough surface area for smaller jobs. I'm impressed with the strength and integrity of this wipe and appreciate that it's free of any fragrance.

Verdict: I think Lola's Sexual Wellness Kit is a wonderful introduction to the world of sex as well as an ally for those who are more seasoned veterans. The design is outstanding, the included products are essentials, and the guide is full of useful and interesting content that covers a large variety of topics. I can see this being a great gift to someone just starting their sexual journey, or someone who is simply interested in trying Lola's products and may want to learn a few things as well.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! This is always available to order on their site for a one-time fee.

Having a naturopath as a consultant makes me not want to subscribe…

Packaging is really plain too. We need to take some inspiration from k and j beauty brands and liven up this box!

I was kind of expecting some sort of toy in here for that price….just a few condoms, wipes and a little tube of lube?!?!??! Seriously? Way over priced. No thanks.

Meh.. overpriced, drab and depressing packaging.. that’s definitely a No Thanks for me

But silicone lube breaks down natural condoms?? Why would that ever be sexual wellness if I’m risking a bursting on condoms? This is incredibly irresponsible.

Aesthetic marketing aside, maybe they should spend more into R&D…?

I’m just hoping someone corrects me, but this is what I’ve known for years.

It’s water based, it’s not a silicone lube

Jen

Silicone lube does NOT damage condoms. That’s oil based lube you’re thinking of. Please don’t contribute to false information.

I tried posting earlier, but it didnt work…anyway, silicone lube is completely safe to use with condoms. Ot is preferred by many people because it stays slicker longer and doesn’t get sticky. In fact, many pre-lubricated condoms have silicone lube as it doesn’t dry out as easily. It is OIL based lubes that you can’t use with condoms, like olive oil, baby oil, or massage oil. So, never use oil based substance with latex condoms. I am a sex educator, so I know TOO much about lube😘

That’s a water based lube.

$34!?! Yeah, no. That’s ridiculous! You’re paying $30+ for their packaging/branding/shipping, and then they tossed in some freebie samples.

Seems a bit over priced to me.

All of this stuff looks like the kind of promo stuff you would get for free at a health expo or women’s convention. Paying for this box is ludicrous.
