Norlii Scandinavian Home and Lifestyle Box March/April Review

One side of the info sheet talks about the workspace collection for Spring.

The other side details each item and its retail value. I have noticed that the listed prices here tend to be under the cost I can find them for online, so the box has a higher value than listed.

Kähler Unico Vase - Retail Value $62.00

Oh my, I love the color of this vase! Such a pretty soft lavender/pink that really kicks off this Spring box well. What's extra exciting to me is that this was designed by Anders Arhøj whom I am a big fan of and already own some pieces from (you should check out the Studio Arhøj Instagram)! The round vase is about four inches in diameter and stands roughly five inches high on its small cylindrical base. At the top, you'll find a one-inch opening to drop in flowers or any kind of fun plant you may find so that you may decorate your workspace! I grabbed this greenery from outside the office and it brought a little nature in! It has such a cool lightly crackly glaze to it and brings some minimal elegance to my office! Love love love this!

Inside the box, you'll find a little catalog for more Kähler items. Very cool!

Normann Copenhagen Paperclips in Magenta, 30 ct - Retail Value $9.00

If you've read my older stationery reviews, you know I love well designed minimal office supplies. These rounded triangular paperclips have a metallic magenta coating on them to make them really stand out as part of Normann's "Daily Fiction" series. Depending on which side you have facing you, the clips can look triangular or round (as shown on paper above). I don't need to clip as many papers as I used to but these are handy for keeping tax documents and receipts organized.

Normann Copenhagen Brilliant Box in Purple - Retail Value $35.00 (similar found here for $32.00)

If you need somewhere to put all of your colorful clips, look no further than the glass "brilliant box". Coming in a complimentary purple color, the smooth lid to this pretty container has a polka dot stippled treatment on its clear base. If you'd rather, this can be used to house jewelry in the bedroom or even bobby pins in the bathroom. The box measures 3.5 inches across and almost 2.5 inches high so even though it's small, it can house plenty small items and is super sturdy to boot.

Normann Copenhagen House Sticky Notes - Retail Value $12.00

Another item from the "Daily Fiction" series is this long pad of sticky notes that allows each sheet to fold cleverly into a small house! Even the front doors open to a two-toned pink place of residence. This is such a cool idea and one I would never expect from a simple pad that you can write a grocery list on. The package says "There's no place like home" (to quote my Mom's favorite movie).

BONUS GIFT Normann Copenhagen Flock Pencil in Magenta - Retail Value $3.00

It's hard to tell from the photo, but this pencil is velvet to the touch! I've never come across such a luxurious feeling wooden pencil, so this is a first. The bright magenta color matches the rest of the desk accessories perfectly. I almost don't want to use it because it's so lovely. This has a $3.00 value but is listed as a free gift which is very nice.

Verdict: I really loved this month's Norlii box! The office theme was right up my alley and they chose beautiful colors to welcome Spring in and brighten up any workspace. As always, they do a great job curating special Scandinavian items I can't easily get my hands on here in the states. I am especially over the moon about my new Arhøj vase and can't wait to fill it with pretty things!

This month's value totals $121, which exceeds the $76.95 cost of the box ($69.95 plus $7.00 shipping).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Sadly, orders for this box is closed but you can sign up today to get May/June as your first box (which should arrive May 18th). Keep your eyes peeled for spoilers with this link.

Value Breakdown: At $76.95 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Vase: $39.43
  • Glass Box: $22.26
  • Paperclips: $5.72
  • Sticky Notes: $7.63

This box does not speak to me. I’d never use most of these items in the box. I feel like it would be tossing $80 out the window. I can live without this subscription.

I enjoyed reading the review and seeing the items. Would enjoy having the items but way too expensive for my budget.

I’m going to need those sticky notes in my life.

Just don’t order them through the link provided! The sticky notes cost $12. The shipping charge that they add on (to an order for just one of those) is $32! What planet are they on???

Angie

They’re shipping from Denmark. International shipping can be incredibly expensive.

Marie

Wow! I am NOT going to need those sticky notes in my life, lol

Julia

Waaaayyyy overpriced.

Definitely.

I’m glad to see authentic Scandinavian items. The heima box disappointed me when I saw everything was made in China and it was just the “style” that was Scandinavian. This seems more legit.
