Kidbox is a kid’s clothing box that "combines cool brands, meaningful savings and a mission to clothe children in need.” KidBox ships 5 boxes a year (spring, summer, back to school, fall and winter) but they will notify you before they ship in case you want to skip a box, change your child’s sizing or even their style preferences.

Kidbox offers a few options: the Baby by Kidbox for sizes Newborn-24 months, Kidbox for sizes 2T-14, and a new Kidsentials, socks and underwear on-demand service.

This review is of the Girl's Spring Box by Kidbox in size 6X.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Kidbox 2019 Spring Box for Girls Review

Inside our box were a bunch of extras and a bag for us to use for exchanging/returning items with a prepaid label.

The box comes with a mini newspaper that has information for both parents and kids. The parent side had a note from the CEO and some advice on talking to kids about charity.

The kid side featured a few articles in addition to some ideas for smoothies, a little leader update, and a fun word search on the back. I love that they always include this kid-friendly mini newspaper!

Kidbox Club Free Gift Temporary Tattoos

Each box also includes a free gift and this time we received this set of 10 temporary tattoos that come in their own plastic case.

The designs are cute and they are made with non-toxic, cruelty-free ink! They also included a coupon for 20% off at Inked by Dani.

We received this sleeve which contained a 4 pack of crayons, a sheet of fun alphabet stickers, and our prepaid return label. It also contained a booklet with a note from our stylist that talked about the Kidbox mission of doing good and giving back.

Inside the booklet, they gave more details on their giving back program which was also featured on the bottom of the box. For every full box that is kept, Kidbox will donate a box of clothing to a child in need and now you can go to your account and choose the charity with your child! This is a great incentive to keep your entire box and feel good about it, while also teaching your kids a great lesson on giving back.

The back of the booklet provided information on how their process works as far as trying on the clothes, returning or exchanging them.

Inside the booklet is our invoice which lists the retail price for each item as well as the KidBox price for each item. Our retail price total was $202.90 while our KidBox total is $151, but if we keep the entire box, the cost is $98. Let's see what we received:

Toby & Company Girls Mini Unicorn Purse with Chain Handle – Retail Price: $18, Kidbox Price: $13

I love that they usually include an accessory of some sort and this mint green and purple unicorn purse could not be more perfect for my daughter. You should have seen how she grabbed it and hugged it when she saw it! It looks just like a cute stuffed unicorn, but it has a zipper on it's back that will hold a few items and a nice long metal chain with a purple ribbon wound through it as the strap. It seems to be well-made and is super soft and she loves it!

Jessica Simpson Girls Tie Dyed Maxi DressRetail Price: $36.50 (I was able to locate the big girl's version here for $39.50), Kidbox Price: $27

Sorry for the wrinkles in the photos, but this is something she had to try on right away when she saw it! She loves her dresses and I love this maxi style for her. The soft colors and tie-dye stripes are so perfect for spring. I also love those little tassels at the top of the straps, which are adjustable which is great for a tall kid like her who never seems to stop growing! Sometimes I think it looks a bit like a nightgown to me with the material, length and soft colors, but I think that paired with the right shoes and jacket, it will be even more adorable!

Here it is with her favorite new accessory.

DKNY Girls Hem & Release Denim Skirt, Size 6X – Retail Price: $32, Kidbox Price: $24

This kid-sized denim skirt looked so tiny to me when I pulled it out, but it actually fits her really well lengthwise. I love the dark wash and that it has some fun details like those metallic embellishments and the braided string.

It is definitely a bit loose at her waist, which is usually the case when something fits her lengthwise, but luckily it has an adjustable waistband and I was able to get a perfect fit for her. You can see it pictured on her below.

Justice Girls Tie Dye Graphic Tee, Size 6/7 – Retail Price: $12.90, Kidbox Price: $9

I'm not one for phrases on shirts, but I love the colors of this one and I guess if it has to have text, then it should be written in glitter! This is a cute basic tee that will be great for playing in. It's soft and fits her really well.

Here is a closer look at the design. So far I haven't noticed any escaped glitter on my floor, but it's probably because I'm still finding glitter from her Cinderella Halloween costume!

7 For All Mankind Girls Distressed Bermuda Shorts, Size 6X– Retail Price: $39 (Kidbox Price: $30)

These denim shorts are really cute with their rolled up hems. These were too big at the waist again, but they were adjustable as well. I love that they sent Bermuda shorts because I think they are so cute on her (pictured below)! The distressing isn't totally my style, but I don't mind it at all paired with the dark wash. Who knew my 4-year-old daughter would be wearing Seven jeans before I would!

Flapdoodles Girls Ruffle Sleeve Mesh Top, Size 6X – Retail Price: $28, Kidbox Price: $21

This top is the ideal spring shirt for a little girl! I love this pale yellow color on her and I know I never would have thought to try this on if I had seen it in the store. The soft mesh overlay and the ruffled sleeves give it a fun feminine look and also dress it up just a bit. The fit on this one was perfect, too. While the quality is great, it's a little bit more than I usually spend on shirts for her, but that's why I'm glad to have received it in a discounted box like this!

Jessica Simpson Girls Denim Bleach Washed Shirt - Retail Price: $36.50, KidBox price: $27

This last top is a fun one with its bleach wash and those embroidered cut out details on the edges. I can't say that this is something I would ever purchase in a store, and there is usually at least one piece like that in these boxes, but it's still cute and always fun to break out of our comfort zone a bit. She seemed to like it, so as long as she will wear it I am happy! I'm not sure what type of bottoms to pair it with just yet, maybe some white shorts or capris?

Verdict: This Spring Kidbox totally nailed my daughter's style! I kept asking her what her favorite item was and she kept telling me that she loved all of them. I love how excited she was for everything and I am so ready for her to be able to wear it all outside once that warm spring weather finally arrives! For $98 we received seven items in addition to the fun extras like the tattoos, stickers, crayons, and mini newspaper which all make it feel like such a special experience. Some items might have a higher retail value than I would usually be comfortable paying, but with the Kidbox discount, it definitely becomes more affordable, especially when you consider most of these were higher end name brands. We are happy with this box for sure!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Your box will be personally curated for you based on your child's age, style preferences, sizing, and Kidbox's current/featured stock!

LIMITED TIME DEAL: Now until 4/29, use code MSASPRING10 for $10 off the new Spring Box! Free shipping both ways.

Value Breakdown: The retail price of all my items add up to $202.90 and the Kidbox price is technically $151, but with the discount from keeping a full box my total is $98! That's about $14 per item.

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
