I was also disappointed in this box. To me, it is just a box full of plasticy junk that is not worth the price. I hope they consider bringing back some quality to the box.

I’m a little upset. Only 4 items for $100. I don’t think HR has ever done a box with only 4 items. I got my box the other day and while the items are nice, I feel like I could have purchased comparable items for less than $100. I will never order HR again without full spoilers.

The winter box was only 4 items. But that one was well worth the $100 with a leather bag, perfume, nice candle in a reusable jar, and a cute card.

Has anyone figured out how to mount the calendar to the wall?

I used screws (that were not included, but necessary in order to actually hang the thing on the wall), put them through the hole in the larger gold piece…all the way through the back, do all for corners on the wall first…..then when those are all up, get the screw pieces of the gold hangers and attach first one of the little plastic pieces, then your calendar, then the other little plastic piece. Do this on every corner first and then attach the screws to the ones in the wall.

Last night my boyfriend comes home and asked “sooo… what was in that box you were so excited for? I remember there’s a watch, a calendar thingy, and something for your pandora beads. What else?” Obviously I had excitedly shown him every spoiler. “umm… a set of three paper sacks…” He stares at them a little while, “and that whole thing cost $100. Hun, I’m angry for you right now.”

Idk; trying to compare “apples to apples”…Coastal Co Fall ‘18 had a great watch and many other higher quality items (clothing customized for size) and Luxor last year had the Halcyon days watch along with several other items.

This box feels light on quantity and quality.

Oh wow, I am not super impressed.

I know they tried to spin the newly discovered thinness of the planner ina positive light (“it’ll be easier to hang!”) but I am kind of bummed because it really doesn’t feel substantial. And it DEFINITELY doesn’t feel like it’s worth $64 – or anything close to that. I envisioned a really nice planner and that’s not what I got. I was really on the fence about buying this box – I liked the watch but thought (and still think) the tray was lame, and the planner was the item that got me to buy the box and it’s really disappointing that it is flimsy and not sturdy as advertised. And I have to buy my own dry erase markers to write on it.

Three quarters of this box could’ve been bought at TJ Maxx for like $30 total.

Christy

I haven’t seen anyone mention this, but I also thought the watch would be heavier. It feels like plastic.

Reply ButtonReply

Caroline

It is plastic. The frame around my watch face arrived cracked.

I love my box, as usual. I will be hanging the calendar in the entry and placing the bags on the piece of furniture just below with the tray next to them. The entry way tends to get messy because I come in and drop things on that table. The bags are great for controlling gloves, hats, etc., flashlights (I live in the mountains with no streetlights to guide me back and forth between my house and neighbors’ houses). The tray is good for the jewelry I wear daily and the metal part is shiny enough to look in as I’m putting earrings on just before I head out. The watch fits beautifully after I removed six (!) links. The tool works well once you know how to remove the links. If you are intimidated by this, a jeweller can do it in a short amount of time and might not even charge for it. I really like the way Happy Rebel has less items and better quality. I also like that it’s quarterly. I have no desire for a box that comes more often or has a lot of stuff in it. I don’t want that many things accumulating in my home.

Those bags are easy to find for a couple dollars. I literally just saw something like this at the dollar store and TJ Maxx regularly has stuff like this. Amazon also sells them for a few bucks. These don’t belong in a 100.00 box plain and simple.

Aimee

This was my first box. I loved it. Unfortunately, I have chicken wrists and the watch is HUGE on me, which was a bummer because it’s really unique, but one day my son will love it. The rest of the box was a total hit. The planner is AWESOME! And the organizer tray is the perfect size and great quality. I guess I’m in the minority on the bags because they are not something I would ever buy but they are really cool!

Reply ButtonReply

amber

Can you not remove links on the watch? I have chicken wrists too, and always have to go get watches adjusted.

Reply ButtonReply

Danielle

If you read the watch description above in this post it states that the watch is adjustable. There should’ve been a little tool that came with your watch. It allows you to add or remove links so you can get a perfect fit. You could take some out for you, them add them back later if you still wish to give it to your son. If the tool wasn’t included I would reach out to Johanna at Happy Rebel. She’s super nice and helpful. Hope it works out for you!

Reply ButtonReply

Aimee

I did adjust the watch. Took six links out. The tool is super easy to use. But the watch face itself is so large it protrudes over the sides of my wrist and not only looks really dumb but is uncomfortable.

Julia

The white watch looks cute, but my hubby said I’d be picking a Pulsar or Seiko ladies’ watch in a week for my birthday. Still dreaming of having a Breitling one day…

I buy Isaac Jacobs organizers at TJ Maxx for $12 each. They’re nice, but not an item I’d expect in a four-item box that costs $100.

Sally

No words to describe this and not in a good way. I keep waiting for the follow up happy early April Fool’s day post. Just….🤮

Cindy

Oh my. I am sooo glad I didn’t take the leap with this box. Paper bags and plastic tray. No fomo here at all

Reply ButtonReply

Stef

Right !? I was like, paper bags and a plastic tray!?! SO glad i didnt pay 100$ for this box

I was so sad to have missed the last seasons box and had been hoping for a win this season but the watch while pretty sweet looking I would never have worn ( my hubby might literally kill me since I splurged on Tag somewhat recently lol) so i skipped this box as well. Fingers are absolutely double crossed that the upcoming box will be a win for me! Unless there is a bronzer or highlighter, then I’m out! LOL

If anyone has that black handbag from the last box let me know, I am on the swap side of things here. 🙂

Kristin

I have a Rolex and am still a watch whore.

LOL

Zo

I skipped this one since the watch is too large for my wrist but I really want those bags!

Reply ButtonReply

Sally

I saw very similar ones at the dollar store a few days ago.

J

If you search “metallic washable paper bags” on Amazon you’ll find them for $5-$8 each.

Noelle

Ok, so since my initial post, I’ve gotten home, opened my box, and have checked everything out in person. I’m still feeling let down, but not quite as bad. The bags are exactly what I envisioned and they could look nice on my bookshelf in my office to hold some things, but I don’t see them lasting long. The organizer was a pleasant surprise though. It’s sturdier and nicer than anticipated. Plus the metallic part is super shiny when it looked matte on the pictures. I’m tempted to take that into work too to organize and show off some of my cute office supplies.

It’s unfair to compare this box to the amazing and totally customizable winter box. But compared to the fall box, this still falls a bit flat. It just needed something else to round it out, even just some nice markers for the calendar.

Jeannette

Yikes! The winter box was so fantastic. I realize the watch is pricey but the rest of it is a major letdown. I’m glad I skipped. Looking forward to a great summer box.

I just got my box and I really like everything but I love the wall planner! This box seems more modern from a lifestyle and decorating vibe which fits in perfectly with my home style. I put one of the metallic bags in my sewing room to catch fabric scraps and threads. The smallest one I put on the wall shelf behind my couch to hold a (fake) potted plant. Very pleased with the box! Now I just have to figure out out to remove some links from the watch. Anyone know how or where to find it on the D1 website?

Reply ButtonReply

Noelle

The little tool included is easy enough to use. I’ve already resized mine with no issues.

Reply ButtonReply

@HappyRebelBox

Hi, Anna! A resizing tool is included inside the watch box for you to be able to adjust the size of your band at your leisure. Feel free to reach out to us via email if you have any further questions on this. Cheers!

Reply ButtonReply

Jeannette

I would take it to a jeweler. They have the tools and shouldn’t charge you more than $10 to remove links. Some do it for free.

Reply ButtonReply

Julie

This looks more like a decently curated mystery box than a regular HR Quarterly box. Could just be me.

Reply ButtonReply

amyr

Dodged a bullet on this one! Winter box was fab but this one does not match my organizational needs and I never wear watches anymore.

Reply ButtonReply

Ann

I will have the bags up for swap. I got a similar bag in a Trendy Memo box and didn’t keep it. I don’t understand why they didn’t just spoil the whole box instead of all but 1 item. Just 1 marker to go with the wall calendar would have been useful.

Reply ButtonReply

Christianne

I do wish there was at least one more item in the box; however, the curation is fantastic from a style perspective and I will use every item (unlike FFF and other subs that have less thoughtful curation).

Reply ButtonReply

Erika

I agree, this box is impeccably curated. I wish I had the ability to choose styles like this. My subscription ‘problem’ causes lots of piles and sometimes my neighbors cat comes in and knocks them over… so yeah i’m on a different spectrum. I wonder if these few detail items could help me out.

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

I skipped this month, no regrets. Last box looked exquisite, I truly hope summer is WAY better than this or that was $100 down the drain…

Reply ButtonReply

Noelle

Seriously? The only additional item is a set of paper bags? Not gonna lie, I’m really feeling let down by this.

Initially I thought I might be able to use these in my office to organize some of my toys and fidgets (I’m a child therapist) but then I realized these are paper, not cloth. My kiddos would destroy these in no time. Heck, my boyfriend will destroy these if I use them at home. He’s not exactly gentle with things.

I better really love this watch.

I just got my box today. I LOVE the bags and everything else we received. You can crinkle them, squish or straighten them, and roll down the top even more. I find them to be very durable and modern, rustic, urban, edgy, or whatever your vibe may be. I’ve already popped a plant in one of mine.

Reply ButtonReply

Joy

I just got my box and sadly I have to agree. The paper bags are not very sturdy and are not as cute in real life as they look on the blog pic. The stitching is unraveling inside one of them and there’s a conspicuous spot where the metalic paint is missing exposing the plain brown paper underneath. Overall the box feels light like it’s really missing an item, maybe even just markers or something to go with the disappointly flimsy planning board. Ugh.

Reply ButtonReply

pb

have to give an A for very unusual item in sub box though! markers would have at least completed the calendar for sure – xx

Kristin

The planner is not flimsy it won’t even bend.

@HappyRebelBox

Hi, Noelle! I think you’ll find the bags to be incredibly sturdy. The material is more of a fabric with a paper type feel. I think they might work perfectly for you in your office! We hope you enjoy them once you check them out in person. Have a great weekend!
