EXTRA TEA: Premium Green Tea Bergamot Bliss, 10g- Buy 85g for $27.31

My absolute favorite tea is Earl Grey, and this tea really felt like the green tea version! The tea itself is very light and bright, with a super pure taste to it. It has a definite floral note (I wrote down JASMINE in all caps in my notebook) even though there doesn't appear to be any actual flowers happening here. The bergamot fragrance is bold and sunny and complements the tea itself beautifully. Try this one alone or add your fave sugar, just not too much!

Premium Pouchong Tea Plus Belle, 20g- Buy 85g for $44.58

This tea also had a jasmine overtone, but this time with an almost grassy/hay base. It was floral and as described in the booklet, creamy. I enjoyed this tea without any additives because the taste was quite delicate, and I didn't want to mask its beauty.

Black Tea Organic Nilgiri Silk, 20g- Buy 85g for $17.39

These tea leaves were so long that they were difficult to actually get into the provided tea bags without making a mess! It felt like a pretty traditional black tea, and I could imagine my Nana icing it for the sweet tea she always serves to guests. I found that this one needed a longer steep time than the 4 minutes recommended, or it was a little milder than I enjoy. It was very smooth and had a malty flavor.

Green Tea Organic Green Jewel, 20g- Buy 85g for $41.77

This tea had a few interesting descriptive words in our booklet this month, making it the one I was most eager to try. Seawater? Limes?? The first thing I noticed was how tiny the tea leaves were. This made for a super fast brew, which is good because green teas quickly go bitter so I am always paranoid. This green was a little foggy, and did indeed have a slightly briny taste, though I do mean that as a compliment! It reminded me very much of SeaQuench Ale, especially with a little bit of sugar added. You could easily enjoy this one with a lemon slice to really make it tangy! I drew a heart next to this one in my booklet, so you know its good.

Premium Oolong Tea Formosa Bai Hao, 20g- Buy 85g for $37.15

This tea tasted super healthy if that makes any sense. It just felt good for me! It had a really calm and complex hay taste and feel, with a healthy dose of honey flavor. I enjoyed it with cream and raw sugar for a comforting mid-day cap.

Verdict: Field to Cup had some new favorites for me this month. The Green Sea Jewel was so unusual and exactly what I love to get in a box like this. I have never had anything like it! I also enjoyed the multiple jasmine notes happening in a few of these teas, and the complexities of the Oolong choice and the Pouchong. The Nilgiri silk was a more traditional feeling brew, and I plan on icing the rest of it! The variety this month was outstanding, and there wasn't a single blend I am not excited to drink!

Thanks for your great review again! This will be my third month – and these sound exciting to try. I didn’t get the tea pouches in my last box and it sounds from reading this that they’re always included? Anyway thanks again- love reading what I can expect from Field to Cup.

hmm, they should have been included. It might have been an item that didn’t quite make it to your box! This team is fabulous though, and if you reach out to them I am sure they can send some.

Hi Megan FYI the tea bags are only included in the first box for subscribers. They are available for sale on their site.

Shirley at Field to Cup

Hi Megan! Wow, thank you so much for all of your kind feedback on this month’s box. I always enjoy reading your thoughts on each of the teas! One thing I would mention about the Nilgiri Silk, the tea is hand processed, so it doesn’t have the typical look of a nilgiri tea. This will make the cup a bit smoother and lighter than one might expect. I would add a .5 tsp of tea to your steep if you’d like it a bit darker than we recommend!

Also, something to note about our service, we started a new level of service that gives our subscribers the ability to replace teas before or after their box ships using a handy form. We send it out in an email at the start of the month, and also, publish it on our site. We’ve seen more of our tea drinkers using this to customize their box even further!

Just thought I’d pop in to let you know how much I appreciate your thoughts every month 🙂 Cheers, and Happy Sipping! Shirley
