Dia and Co January 2019 - Box Top

Dia & Co
2.5 overall rating
75 Ratings | 24 Reviews

Dia & Co. is a monthly plus size clothing subscription box that is personally curated for you by a Dia stylist. Upon enrolling with Dia, I filled out an extensive survey asking me about my clothing size/weight/height, price range, and also my style likes and dislikes. Every month my stylist selects five pieces that could be clothes or accessories to try out. If I like them, I have the option of buying them. There is a $20 per month service fee, but the fee can be applied to any purchases I opt to make. A 20% discount is applied if I choose to keep all five pieces too!

The items in my box are chosen personally for me dependent and reflective of my style and price preference, so the package you receive from Dia & Co. may be entirely different than mine!

Dia and Co January 2019 Box - Envelope Front

Here is that adorable Dia & Co envelope I look forward to seeing every month!

Dia and Co January 2019 - Letter Front

Also enclosed is this darling message from this month’s stylist, Lisa. She took note of my love of leopard and cheetah print pieces on my Instagram—so attention to detail! She gives great styling tips for each item too—which I also love!

Dia and Co January 2019 - Invoice Front

The other form is an invoice that has a detailed list of the brand, name, color, size, and price of each item she selected for me along with the grand total after the styling fee and 25% off ( if I opt to keep all five items) is applied. My prices aren’t listed, but the total would be $275. After the $20 styling fee and 25% is applied my balance for the entire box would be $191.25! The savings would be $83.75 if I did decide to keep everything! That isn’t too shabby! That would be like getting the City Chic Two Fer top and Thames River necklace for free!

Recently, through writing about a twofer dress for my latest Gwynnie Bee box, I realized the magic of these pieces! For years, I found them to be cheesy like my grandma’s dicky collection of yore - but I have changed my tune. Maybe it is due to being older and always being in a rush, but I love the easiness of a twofer! I don’t have to worry about finding pieces to layer, but still manage like I am put together. Absolutely fantastic! My stylist, Lisa, selected this easy to wear, yet sassy leopard print twofer! I am loving it; this is an ideal item for my office job, especially in cold weather months. I paired this top with the burgundy jeans Lisa also sent my way!

If you read my reviews, you know I love a good skinny leg jean. I also enjoy getting pairs in unique colors like these deep, raspberry-hued ones. The fit is awesome - lots of stretch and the high rise on these pants are perfect! I love how the pants complement the City Chic twofer—they pair well for an ideal work ensemble. I can envision wearing these in the spring with a pastel striped short sleeved sweater, hoop earrings, and lilac jellies or with sneakers and a vintage band shirt. These will be able to be worn effortlessly all year long!

Nothing more classic than a houndstooth print in a circle skirt style, am I right? The beauty of black and white houndstooth is that you can pair nearly anything with it. I opted to pair a golden mustard sweater that I received in one of my past Trunk Club boxes. This would look fantastic with all black and white accessories and pieces, but I love it styled with pops of color to make it a bolder look. The skirt is made from a cotton knit and has an elastic waistband. For a spring look, I imagine pairing the skirt with a black and white pussy bow blouse and saddle shoes. This skirt is incredibly comfortable and easy to wear - it certainly will become a staple for my work-friendly attire!

June Lace Top in Forest Green by KIYONNA Size 2x—Retail Value $69

I had a KIYONNA dress years ago and I was impressed by how it was extremely well made and had a flattering cut. This top has ample stretch and is comfortable. It feels slightly dated style wise, but I appreciate the lace overlay and the awesome bell sleeves. My gut tells me to style this with skinny leg jeans, cowboy booties, and a vintage western suede vest for a tough, yet sassy retro look. However, I loved styling it with simple straight legged pants and flats. This is a look I can wear out and about or to work. The top is so flirty and romantic, one can easily wear it on date night with a mini skirt and heels for a va-va voom ensemble!

Tassel Necklace by Thames River—Retail Value $28

Last, but certainly not least, my stylist sent me this double tassel necklace. I love the design and flair of this piece; it is so versatile that it could pair well with a boho themed outfit or something more modern and refined. In addition, since this is a longer necklace you can either wear it alone or style it with a few other silver necklaces for a neat layered look.

Verdict: My stylist, Lisa, put a lot of effort and consideration into this month’s box. She picked on my fondness for retro style pieces and sent me a lace bell sleeve top along with a cute houndstooth skirt. She looked at my social media and saw my penchant for animal print everything and sent me a cheetah print twofer blouse. I love feeling heard by my stylists and that is why I always tell anyone considering getting a subscription box to give ample feedback. Always provide your Instagram handle and Pinterest info; it will convey your wardrobe goals to your stylist better than words can at instances! I can see the thought put into the pieces selected for me. I also love that you can post your outfit pics on your Dia & Co profile directly and in the community. This allows yourself and other subscribers to pin each other’s pics to use in the feedback as well, but also can give you styling inspiration as well! I can’t wait to see what I get next month!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Dia & Co curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This box has a $20 styling fee and includes free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $275. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20.00 styling fee for the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $186.25 for the whole box. Ultimately, that is nearly a 32% off discount

I love everything. And that’s going some because I hate lace. Either Dia is amazing or you’re making it look good, but either way, I want all of it.
