Crescent City Swoon Subscription Box January 2019 Review

Crescent City Swoon January 2019 - Honey and Champagne Bath Bomb Front Crescent City Swoon January 2019 - Honey and Champagne Bath Bomb Back

Honey and Champagne Bath Bomb – Retail Value $6.95

This bath bomb is scented with honey and champagne, and it is formulated with hydrating butters like cocoa and shea. This is the perfect bath bomb for people who are sensitive to fragrances, as the light champagne honey scent was delicate and not overpowering.

Crescent City Swoon January 2019 - Queen Bee Bath Bomb Front Crescent City Swoon January 2019 - Queen Bee Bath Bomb Back Crescent City Swoon January 2019 - Queen Bee Bath Bomb In Water

Queen Bee Bath Bomb – Retail Value $7.95

This is another delicately scented bath bomb with notes of honeysuckle, honey, and crisp spring air. It is made with coconut and sunflower oils for added hydration, and once it hit the water it started to bubble away happily.

Crescent City Swoon January 2019 - Queen Bee Sugar Scrub Gum Drops Front Crescent City Swoon January 2019 - Queen Bee Sugar Scrub Gum Drops Back

Queen Bee Sugar Scrub Gum Drops, 4 pack – Retail Value $11.95

These sugar scrub gumdrops are so cute, and I loved that while they were an effective exfoliant they also were nourishing to my skin thanks to the hydrating butters and oils used to make these. The individual gum drops mean the rest of the scrubs can stay dry and out of the shower, which is something I occasionally struggle with.

Crescent City Swoon January 2019 - Milk and Honey Party Bomb Front

Milk and Honey Party Bomb – Estimated Value $6.50 (based on other party bombs found here)

These party bombs don’t have the same decorative flair as the fancier bath bombs, but they still have the same hydrating properties that leave my skin feeling so smooth. After using this bath bomb I forgot to apply lotion, and I was seriously amazed at how silky smooth my legs felt later in the evening.

Crescent City Swoon January 2019 - Orange Blossom Beeswax Travel Candle Top

Orange Blossom Beeswax Travel Candle – Retail Value $9.95

These are new! Candles are a new product for Crescent City Swoon, and I was happy to see this cute travel tin in the box. Orange Blossom scent is delicate and fresh, making it a good choice to brighten up a room without having an overpowering scent.

The Verdict: Crescent City’s Swoon Subscription Box spoiled us this month with three great bath bombs and a new candle and sugar scrub. I think my favorite part about this subscription is how hydrating and nourishing the body products are- my skin is always incredibly soft after using, and I can even forget to apply lotion without my skin becoming dry. This month’s box has a total value of $43.30, which is a little above the cost of the box plus shipping. If you appreciate supporting small brands that send high-quality, small-batch bath products than I think you will really enjoy the Crescent City Swoon experience.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? No. If you sign up in March, you will get the April box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $29.71$7.98 shipping ($37.69), which means you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Honey and Champagne: $6.04
  • Queen Bee: $6.91
  • Gum Drops: $10.40

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Thanks for the review. I hadn’t heard of this company before, so I checked out their FB page and website. I spent my college years in New Orleans and am happy to support a NOLA based company. I ended up buying a few items, but not the sub box. On FB, I discovered the company is currently running a free shipping promo.

The products smelled amazing and I really enjoyed them. However the theme of this box which was omitted in the review was Queen Bee. I bought this as a gift for my mom who is a bee keeper and have to say I was a bit disappointed that there was not any bees on anything. Good products, not the most original or creative though in my opinion when compared to boxes like Lavish or Dose.
