BookCase.Club for Kids February 2019 Review

Lionel and Molly Opposites by Joanna Lake - Retail Value $6.99 (found here for $5.83)

This book is a cute story about Lionel and Molly, a lion and a mouse who are quite different from one another. The pages go through a few opposites and each page has some sort of fun texture from glitter flowers to soft, felt bees. This is a great book for little baby hands since they will enjoy the tactile experience, but it's also a good one for a slightly older age as you explore the idea of opposites and even describing various textures.

The Big Book of Silly by Natalie Marshall - Retail Value $7.99

This board book is very large, which makes the silly images feel even sillier. The pages feature bright, vibrant images of goofy things such as a lion playing an electric guitar, an elephant blowing bubbles while riding a unicycle, and even a flamingo in cowboy boots. The silly animals appealed to my kids while I enjoyed their use of different patterns in the illustrations. This is a cute, unique book that we enjoyed reading together.

Wake and Sleep by Sago Mini - Retail Value $6.99

This was definitely my favorite book this month! It is just full of cuteness and the way my 2-year-old responded to it was just adorable! Each page features someone to wake up or put to sleep. We started by waking up Jinja the cat by patting her head. Then we opened the flap to see her awake.

Then we asked Jack to hop up and continued through the book until we had snuggled a robin, whistled for a dog, and tickled a gnome to wake them up for the day. My favorite by far was on the page that we had to sing a gnome a lullaby since my son proceeded to sing Rock-a-Bye Baby to it. He had so much fun reading this book and responding to the prompts and then lifting the flaps to see what was underneath. An unexpected book of cuteness!

Verdict: I was really pleased with our BookCase.Club box this month. The stories appealed to the kids and I really loved the lift-a-flap book that had us interacting with all of the cute characters. I also loved that we received a book that provided a fun tactile experience for my youngest. This box is always a mixed bag and sometimes they don't always send us board books as we requested, but this month was a great selection for us! The total retail value of our books came to $21.97 which is great for a $14.99 ($9.99 + $5.00 shipping) box of books we enjoyed!

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, order before the 25th to get the next box. (Boxes ship on or before the 1st of each month.)

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

Sago Mini also makes great apps for kids – we get them on our Amazon tablet.

Yes! They do! I knew the characters looked familiar, but I didn’t remember until my daughter saw it and reminded me that they are “from her Kindle.” 🙂 They are great!
