The first plant I received is so cute! I love the triangular shape of the plant, the color of the green and the bits of pink on the tips. It’s a very charming little plant. When I looked this one up, it was more of a bright pink. I do not know if mine will end up that way, but if it does, I will post some updated pictures!

This is one of those times where I wish we can do more when reviewing things like offer a smell or touch because the way this plant feels is lovely! It is a velvety plant and is greyish green in color. My plant is really dirty; when I opened up my box, my plants told a story of a long journey and this plant really reflects that. No matter how much I brushed off the leaves, the dirt would not completely go away. I didn’t want to rinse with a ton of water as succulents do not need much. I am going to give it time before I attempt again because I really want to cherish this beauty. Even though it is dirty, I assure you this plant is absolutely beautiful. Like the previous, I hope to post an updated image soon.

This plant is also really pretty. I feel like it looks a lot like the first plant, just of a different shape. They can get pretty tall, up to 18 inches and up to 3 feet wide. I really want these to grow and mature. It would be lovely to have such a big, beautiful succulent.

As soon as I saw this tiny succulent, I was in l-o-v-e. It is so sweet and so beautiful, though only green, but they should turn red in the summertime. I adore this plant; you can see its shape perfectly in the one I received. A mature plant should get a little bigger but look the same.

Verdict:  I think this is my favorite succulent box of all time. I have never received a box where I adored and loved every single plant as I did this one. I cannot choose a favorite and you can’t make me! I really look forward to these maturing and providing an update.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today?  Yes! Your assortment may vary a bit depending on how many plants you choose to subscribe to.

Value Breakdown: This four plant box costs $20.00 (at retail) + $7.35 shipping to Texas, or $27.35 total. That means each plant cost an average of $6.83 after shipping.

I’d love to see what you do with these, do you transplant, leave as is, etc.

I don’t sub to this box, but am a huge grower of succulents and depending on where you live this could be a huge rip-off. I’m in California and you could get any of those in that size for 1-2 bucks each here. Plants this small are also way less likely to survive extreme weather (hot or cold) and won’t get enough sunlight in most of the US (even where I live in the desert my Crassulas can’t get enough sun) so I think it’s pretty much throwing your money down the drain. It’s better to research what kind of succulents fit in your climate and buy the largest version of those you can find. I live in the ideal zone for these succulents and even I lost a TON of them this summer and a few more this winter.

I’m in the mid-Atlantic and where I am, you cannot find this type of thing except in IKEA, or on Amazon. And although I’ve had some luck with IKEA plants, I’m at about 50/50 (half die, half live wonderfully). As for buying succulents on Amazon, I haven’t tried it yet, although I was tempted by the daily deal that previous poster KatS mentioned. But as far as my local independently owned plant store, or Home Depot, or the grocery store, nope, I cannot find succulents like this. So, for my particular geographical area, this box would not be considered a ripoff.

I just wanted to point out that, if you can’t find a plant locally, it probably means it isn’t ideal for your location. Mid-Atlantic would be Maryland and above, which I’m fairly certain isn’t ideal climate for something like a succulent. Something to keep in mind before buying them…

Rachael

I totally agree, this box is so overpriced and they keep reviewing it and saying it’s awesome.

I agree Rachael, I bought 2 plants from them and they are overpriced. Plus 1 of them did have a small amount of scale I submitted a review with a 3 star rating – I love the plant and will treat it and life will go on. But they removed my review so that it would appear the every review is only a 5 star.
