Sephora Favorites: Give Me Some Shine Lip Set Review

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine - All Content Pouch Information Front

This set didn’t come with an info sheet, but the products and their ingredients are listed on the back of the bag.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine - Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss In Venus Front Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine - Model Viewing Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss In Venus Front

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Venus, Full-Size! Retail Value $16

The first of two full-size products in this kit is this lip gloss from Anastasia Beverly Hills. Venus is a clear gloss with “dazzling pink and gold reflective sparkle.” This is a thin gloss, and while I wouldn’t describe it as being 100% stick-free, the stickiness was minimal.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine - Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment in Translucent Front

Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment in Translucent, 0.07 oz – Estimated Value $12.13 (buy the full-size version for $26)

Fresh lip treatments were my first introduction into the world beyond Carmex and chapstick, and I never looked back. This is a clear balm made with sugar (to prevent moisture loss), sea fennel (to smooth fine lines), and orange extract (to protect your lips). This does provide long-lasting moisture to my chronically dry lips, and it is a great balm to wear before going in with a drying liquid lipstick. Plus, absolutely no stickiness!

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine - INC.redible Jelly Shot In Ex Revenge Front

INC.redible Jelly Shot in Ex Revenge, Full-Size! Retail Value $10

The second full-size product in this kit is this fun lip balm! It has real gold flakes inside the balm, a tiny flower at the base, and it goes on clear. I found it to be really nourishing, too, thanks to ingredients like Vitamin E, avocado oil, and rice bran oil.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine - Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea H2O Lip Gloss In Sundress Front Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine - Model Viewing Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea H2O Lip Gloss In Sundress Front

Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea™ H2O Lip Gloss in Sundress, 0.033 oz – Estimated Value $4.64 (buy the full-size version for $19)

I know this is a tiny baby lip gloss, but I really love the attention to detail in this packaging- from the gorgeous ombre lid to the actual flecks that look like water drops, this is a neat lip gloss. Sundress is described as a peachy nude, and it was a little too close to my skin tone to wear alone. I also think this is the thickest lip gloss out of this set, and also the stickiest.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine - Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme in Clear Front

Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme in Clear, 0.05 oz – Retail Value $14

I never have good experience with lip plumpers, but I gave this a try anyway. I only lasted about three minutes before I had to wipe it off due to the intense burning (which is probably why this is called "extreme"), but I will say a few minutes later my lips definitely looked plumper. Ultimately, though, the pain wasn't worth the fuller pout for me.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine - Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Liquid Color Balm in Shade 12 Chase Me Nude Front Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine - Model Viewing Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Liquid Color Balm in Shade 12 Chase Me Nude Front

Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Liquid Color Balm in Shade 12 Chase Me Nude, 0.08 oz – Estimated Value $12.80 (buy the full-size version for $32)

This was the big winner of the box for me! Though it is a liquid, it really feels like a hydrating lip balm on the lips. I found the shade Chase Me Nude to be a really great nude with a hint of pink, and there was absolutely zero stickiness. I am taking my graduation headshots this week, and this is the lip color I will be rocking.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine - Swatched Top

Though you already saw these shades on, here are the Tarte, YSL, and Anastasia swatched next together in fun hearts. Do you know yet what lip color you’re going to be rocking on Valentine’s Day?

The Verdict: I thought this was a great kit from Sephora. This had a good mix of high end and affordable brands, and there were fun textures like the YSL liquid balm and the gold-infused balm from INC.redible. If lip glosses and balms are your thing, I definitely recommend picking this set up. Value-wise, I calculated a total value of $69.57, which I think is fair.

I forgot to add that the YSL looks just beautiful on you and will be a perfect choice for pictures.

I have this kit. I agree on the plumper being too stinging. I was excited for the Anastasia until I realized just how much glitter it has. And I love the YSL and ended up splurging on the full size. A fun kit to try.

Thank you for posting pics wearing the different lip products, it’s a lot more helpful than just seeing swatches.

Thank you!

Dorothy

I’m just curious if your skin tone is the same as mine and those colors will look the same on me.

The heart shape swatches are so cute! You draw it perfectly, Jessica!
I was interested at first, but seems to be too many lip glosses & nude colors…only the lip balms seem to be of any use…not for me I guess… 🙁

I would love to take credit for the perfect hearts but I definitely used a stencil! They make vinyls specifically for searching makeup that are fun to use

Nina

Well just the idea of doing heart swatches was cute! 🙂 So take some credit girl!

Jody

I want to try the jelly shot. Looks totally fun.

Jessica, your face is absolutely radiant & glowing! Did you just use a sheet mask? Oh, and thanks for the review. I found both real wear & arm (heart) swatches to be very helpful!

Lars, you are so sweet! To be honest I don’t remember what skincare routine I did before swatching these.
