We have the theme for the March 2019 OwlCrate! This box is not available yet. If you sign up now, February will be your first box.

The theme for the upcoming March 2019 OwlCrate subscription box is:

Murder and Mayhem!

We are so thrilled to announce the theme of our upcoming March box...MURDER AND MAYHEM!
💀 This box is not yet available. It will be available to order around February 22nd (or if we sell out of February boxes early). If you place an order before then, you’ll be ordering the February Whimsical Beasts box. Please be careful when ordering!
💀 Our book pick this month is an incredible debut that seamlessly blends fantasy, science fiction and a murder mystery into one epic story. The twists and turns had us up all night reading and we simply couldn't put this book down until its shocking conclusion.
💀 The book will be an awesome OwlCrate exclusive edition, which will be SIGNED by the author!
💀 There will be high quality items inspired by books such as Nevernight, This Savage Song, Three Dark Crowns, Game of Thrones and more. We'll post more sneak peeks in the coming weeks! If you love dark fantasy this is the box for you!

What do you think of the theme for the March Owl Crate theme? Any guesses on what the books will be?

If you haven't signed up for Owl Crate yet, it is $29.99 plus shipping ($7.99 to US, $10.59 to Canada, $19.99 Worldwide) Use coupon WELCOME10 to save 10% off of your first month!

Check out our Owl Crate reviews to see what you can expect from this subscription. (It’s one of my favorite book boxes – I highly recommend it!) And check out our reviews of all Book Subscription Boxes, too!

I am trying to choose a YA book subscription box for my 14-year-old granddaughter and it’s very frustrating because EVERY review is written by an adult from an adult point of view, not that of a kid. Owl Crate, Uppercase, Once Upon a Book Club (YA edition), a few others — I can’t find a SINGLE REVIEW of any of them from the perspective of a teenager or the parents of a teenager shopping for their child. I know many adults enjoy YA literature but these book subscriptions are intended for young teens. I would like to know whether the book selections are appropriate and whether a teen her age would appreciate the add-ons – not whether I or a 20- or 30-something would. Just spent hours searching MSA and the whole web and drawing a blank.

Personally I think that the books are fine for a 14-yr-old. But I am not you nor your daughter, so what I would suggest is to visit these websites’ FAQ section; most of them should answer your question there. If not, then you can take a look at their past boxes and then google the book titles to find their recommended age. If you still have questions on this, I would suggest contacting the companies directly, using the info provided on their websites.

Thanks for taking the trouble to respond. I did all of that, actually, and all those things were of course helpful (OwlCrate sent me a very lengthy and thoughtful response) but I was hoping for some actual-subscriber feedback and that is hard to come by. I decided to buy her one non-renewing box from each of several of them, in succession, and see what she (and her parents – this is my granddaughter) think of them before deciding which if any to extend as a subscription.

I like mysteries, so am looking forward to this. I’m especially excited about the travel mug since I’m always losing mine.
