Gwynnie Bee is a clothing rental subscription service that caters to women between the sizes of 0-32. Gwynnie Bee allows you to select items you like and they are put in a virtual closet. The chosen items sent to you are at random, but you can select priority pieces to be sent to you first. I just started using the service a couple months ago and can say I always have a lot of fun with this box!

Gwynnie Bee is a clothing rental service, but they also have a marketplace on their site where you can buy strongly discounted used rental pieces and brand new accessories, underwear, and work out gear as well!

Our Review

This review is of the one item at a time for three items that I received between November 15th through the 28th.

Upon walking outside in this dress, my father said I looked like Mrs. Claus. I didn’t get a holiday vibe from this dress until that moment, but I can see how it could be a great casual holiday outfit paired with cozy tights and booties. The fabric of this piece is rather lightweight, a gauze-like material. This piece can be worn all year in warmer weather with cute open toe sandals or in the winter with comfy, warm layers.

Gwynnie Bee sent me another rustically retro red dress this month as well. I can easily envision a flower child in San Francisco wearing this during the Summer of Love as much as modern day. This piece’s fabric is light and breezy, but also with the appropriate styling can be worn all year long. In winter, pair this with a vintage suede with faux fur trim coat, patterned tights, booties, and a floppy, large brimmed hat for a look that is reminiscent of Penny Lane’s in Almost Famous. Wear this dress at work with yellow flats to bring out that pop of color along with stacked bangles to add flair!

Knee Length Denim Skirt by Modcloth Size 3x—Retail Value Unavailable

Denim skirts are such versatile staples, so I had to try out this Modcloth one! I love Modcloth pieces and have quite a few items from them, but have found that sizing ranges between a 2x or 3x for me in the bottoms. This time around I sense a 2x would have fit me just fine. The skirt has ample stretch but was really long and bulky on my 5’6 frame. On the model featured on Gwynnie Bee’s site, it is above the knee, so it looks rather different on me. I styled the skirt with a sweater from an upcoming Trunk Club review. This skirt would look great with a button down and heels for the office or a fitted t-shirt, leopard print flats, and a faux leather biker jacket for an effortlessly cool ensemble. I sadly returned this skirt before taking down the price—sorry guys!

The Verdict: Gwynnie Bee remains one of my favorite subscription boxes. What I like best about it is that I can try out a variety of different styles without the commitment to buy. Sometimes you simply want to wear a dress for one or two events. No more letting gorgeous pieces rot in your closet or feeling buyer’s regret! With Gwynnie Bee, you can experiment with styles without guilt or having to amass a huge budget for a new wardrobe! You just toss them in the prepaid purple envelope and get your next selection soon after! Plus, you don’t have to worry about laundering the pieces—Gwynnie Bee dry cleans all worn pieces. It is such a convenient service—a true no brainer for me!

To Wrap Up:

Value Breakdown: Gwynnie Bee’s costs range depending on your subscription and how many items you are sent at a time. I have the $95 three-item at a time plan. This includes free shipping and returns. I can get as many pieces as I like monthly, as long as I return each item first. I got three items this month, but I could get several pieces sent to me in a month’s time if I return each piece after wearing promptly. Two of the items totaled to $98.00. The third piece I don’t have the total on, but for the two items alone that is $3 more than my monthly subscription! That is a great value for the two pieces alone. Imagine the value if I had returned these pieces and received even more!
