Good Being February 2019 - Box

Goodbeing
4.2 overall rating
32 Ratings | 9 Reviews

Goodbeing box is a natural and organic beauty box. Each month you’ll receive a box customized to your beauty profile.

Good Being February 2019 - OpenBox

There are now two different categories of Good Beings Box: Beauty or Lifestyle (this option includes beauty/non-beauty items), and a major plus for this subscription box: you get to choose two items each month!

This is a review of the Beauty Box.

Good Being February 2019 - InfoA

The info card features a quote by Rupi Kaur; she is one of my very favorite poets, so I was so excited to see her words featured this month! On the back of this card are a ton of discount codes for subscribers on brands sampled in this month’s box.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Good Being February 2019 Review

Good Being February 2019 - Info1

Every box comes with cards detailing each product.

Good Being February 2019 - Info2

Moving right along to the items!

Good Being February 2019 - Gypsy1 Good Being February 2019 - Gypsy2

Gypsy Soul Organics Gypsy Woman Solid Perfume, .5oz - Retail Value $30

Gypsy Woman is a woodsy solid perfume that is supposed to take on different notes depending on the wearer’s chemistry. It is a rather small tin for the price tag, but a little goes a long way. As far as texture goes, this solid is initially sticky. Some of it absorbed right into my skin, but I still have some sticky spots here and there. This product also has serious staying power; it lasted all night, and I could smell it even when I woke up. I could mostly pick up notes of musky cedarwood and soil on me, but I wonder what if it really does change on every individual.

Good Being February 2019 - Suntegrity

Suntegrity Impeccable Skin Mineral Matte Tinted Coverage SPF 30 in Ivory, .25oz - Listed Value $6.95, Buy full size for $55

I love when foundations or BB creams have an SPF 30 or higher, so this choice was a no brainer for me this month. I applied a pea-sized amount to my face with a beauty sponge, and it built up to a dewy medium coverage. I really liked the wear of this foundation, too. I powdered after application, and my face remained set all day long without touch-ups - no excess oil or dry patches! I tend to reach for items like this in the winter - even though the sun is scarce, SPF is still essential!

Good Being February 2019 - Han

Han Skin Care Cosmetics Multi-Stick in Toasted Nutmeg, .2oz - Retail Value $16

This multi-stick is a dream for dry skin. It is so blendable and soft, and surprisingly easy to control the pigment. At first, Toasted Nutmeg, a true red-brown shade, was daunting for my cool pink skin tone, but I am happy to report, after some easy blending, it gave me a subtle dewy flush.

Good Being February 2019 - Swatches

Here are swatches of the Suntegrity Tinted SPF and Hand Skin Care Cosmetics Multi-Stick in Toasted Nutmeg (finger swatched and then blended out)

Good Being February 2019 - Sade

Sade Baron Body Mist in Autumn, 1oz - Retail Value $9.50, Listed Value $8

I am really enjoying this woodsy face and body mist! I sprayed my face and decolletage after a shower, and I couldn’t believe the softening effects this product had. It is made with 100% natural ingredients and is made with antioxidant and nutrient-rich extracts to give your skin a healthy boost. I also noticed the fragrance dissipating shortly after getting dressed, so luckily it didn’t interfere with my perfume.

Good Being February 2019 - Delia

Delia Organics Dose of C Serum, 1oz - Retail Value $42.99

Dose of C serum is a hydrating gel-like serum that is 18% vitamin C! I love the way this serum made my skin look and feel; I applied two pumps before bed, and my skin looked rejuvenated and bright the next morning, not to mention it felt so soft! This bottle is full size, so with daily use, this should help decrease inflammation, protect moisture barriers and help to lighten dark spots and acne scars.

Verdict: This month’s GoodBeing box was a great match for me! I know I will use all of my new products, and I am really impressed by the $105.44 value of this month’s box. If you are looking for a natural beauty/skincare box, I would definitely recommend GoodBeing. Not only can you choose 2 out of 4 or 5 products sent to you, but they sample products from exceptional brands and a lot of times the items are full sized!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the March box.

Check out GoodBeing’s latest limited-time deals here!

Value Breakdown: Wow, this box has a value of $105.44, which I think is amazing for a $24.95 (+free shipping) box! Here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Suntegrity foundation: $1.64
  • Gypsy Soul Organics Solid Perfume: $7.10
  • Sade Baron Body Mist: $2.25
  • Delia Organics Serum: $10.17
  • Han Skin Care Cosmetics Multi Stick: $3.79

How can I get my refund back from Goodbeing? I received one box and they have 6 months of my money. Please tell me how I go about getting my money back. I know they have closed but they owe people.

Has anyone received a shipment notification of their March box yet? I normally get a notification that they are prepping my box around the 4th. I was able to pick my March choices, and I have two boxes left on my subscription. I see their Facebook page is down and they haven’t updated their Instagram in a couple weeks. I’m getting nervous that they’ve disappeared.

Jennifer

I haven’t received an email and today I went to make my picks for next month an it says no pick window is open even though it should be.

T.Marie

They have closed down so, you won’t be receiving a March box.

Speak of the devil, I just got this email:

First, our sincere apologies for the recent lapse in communication. It’s been a very difficult time as we explored all options to prevent this. It is with heavy hearts and deepest remorse that we write to inform you that due to many circumstances, among them, failed anticipated funding, a slow in business, increased costs and increased market pressure, Goodbeing is no longer financially able to operate and therefore has closed for business.

This is a heartbreaking end to our 7-year journey and mission to support healthier beauty & natural wellness and help customers find better products and companies they love. This is not how we envisioned Goodbeing’s end, but at this point, there are no other options available.

No further boxes will be shipped and no further dues will be collected. If you have paid for service that will not be received, you may be able to file a claim or dispute with your credit card company or bank for the amount paid for services not received, the amount paid divided by the number of months of service not received.

If it is determined that you have paid for services not rendered in full, you will receive further email and/or written correspondence in the coming weeks.

Thank you for the role you have played in growing the natural beauty & wellness market to help support positive change. We are grateful for you prior patronage and for your support and understanding.

Oh no, I have 5 remaining boxes on my six-month sub 😢.

Marion

I’m so sad! I just rediscovered this sub after a while away.

I did immediately file a chargeback with my cc, though.

I’m wondering if they’ll have an inventory sale to recoup some losses.

Andi

I just received this, too. So sad! Goodbeing is my oldest sub, and was always a favorite.

Andi

I emailed their customer service today, but haven’t received a response. I’m due three remaining boxes on my six-month sub, and I hope they aren’t closing down!

Tammy

I emailed last week and still haven’t heard anything. I went ahead and opened a dispute with my credit card company before my dispute period expires. I asked for the proportion of the money back for the boxes that were not delivered. I figure I can always cancel the dispute if I ever hear from Goodbeing, but I don’t have my hopes up.

Mimi

Also, when you try to click “subscribe” or “gift” on their website it goes to an empty page 🙁

Tammy

Oh no! I checked the website this morning when they emailed customer service to find out when they would be shipping. I’m pretty sure those links were working then. They must be actively dismantling everything. 🙁 I haven’t heard back from customer service, but will update if I do.

Mimi

Ohmigosh, i went ahead to look as soon as i read your comment! That’s really unusual for them.

This box is intriguing me. I didn’t like the March choices they spoiled on their website, but I made a note in my calendar to check them out again at the end of March and see if I like the April spoilers. Thank you for reviewing the box every month – it’s good thinking material for me! 🙂

I’m thinking of re-subbing to Goodbeing, but I really want to wait for some kind of offer. I always thought it was fun how we could pick two products out of a decent sized selection of products for our box. I also always felt that they really took my profile into consideration because only in a blue moon would I get a product that wasn’t a good fit for me.

I’m also playing with the idea of re-subscribing to Vegan Cuts. I was already considering this, but now that they’re going to raise their prices soon, and are encouraging people to sign up now to lock in the lower price, I’m even more so debating on whether to re-subscribe sooner rather than later.

T.Marie

They are closed. They aren’t taking new subscriptions and they said no March box either. That’s it for them.

Reply ButtonReply

Danielle

I subscribe to Goodbeing and Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. I didn’t know they were raising prices? Do you know – if I have the one-year subscription, when renewal time comes around will I be paying the same price I paid last year (locked in), or will I be paying the new/higher price?

Mimi

Good being is the only box i managed to stay subscribed to for 6 months straight. I usually just purchase one box at a time if the spoilers entice me. In those six months only one month was a mismatch, which is bound to happen with any continuous subscription, which is why i normally don’t subscribe to any boxes in the first place.

I’ve discovered some fantastic products that i never would’ve found otherwise since i wouldn’t know what to google for. It saddened me to pause the sub since i’m overloaded, but am eager to jump right back as soon as i clear my stash a little.

I was a subscriber from 2014 to 2017, my longest running sub! But I just got bored and eventually I did get dupes (4 rafiki bracelets that went to my daughters). I will probably just sub for a couple of months this time around. There are so many good boxes lately that I have been doing the same, just wait for spoilers to sub and unsub. I’m letting my 2 year Birchbox go too. Trying to stick with boxes like Ipsy and Pearlesque that let you skip months.

I joined at the end of January hoping to get this box but still missed it, my first is March (and I was a prior subscriber so my profile, address and payment was already set up) So if you join now, you may have to wait for April just FYI.

T.Marie

FYI, they just sent an email saying they are closed and you can get a refund through your bank.

I got a very similar box. I picked the Suntegrity foundation & the Han multistick in Dust Rose (GORGEOUS!). I also got the Sade Baron mist & Delia vitamin C serum. My 5th sample was a set of 3 Ursa Major wipes. I love my box!

I am absolutely blown away with the customization & customer service of GoodBeing. When my pick window opened up for March, I immediately found something I’d been wanting to try in the Pick 2 category, but in the Pick 1 category, I was disappointed that all the items were face masks, since I just don’t use them. I emailed to see if there was a chance I’d get a different type of product if I left Pick 1 blank, & customer service immediately got back to me that they could leave a note in my profile to substitute a different item for the face mask this month — and then they asked if I wanted that note left on my profile for all future boxes. I said yes!

This month’s box was one of my favorites. The multistick is perfect color for my lips and is super moisturizing.

Amy

I was definitely bummed they said the Skintegrity was foundation, but it’s actually a tinted moisturizer. Love good being though.

Kris

This looks like a great box!

It wasn’t too long ago that I was heavily focused on makeup, especially cruelty free and this box did not disappoint. The ability to customize my box was one of my most favorite things about it. I have too much makeup now, and have moved on to skin care, so for me that means I have moved on to other boxes. I may add Good Being back at a later time as it really is a great box.

Lori

I got the exact same box, even though I bought the lifestyle box. So far loving all my items!
