Ecocentric Mom January 2019 Review

We received this little card that includes a link to this page where we can filter by age to see the products from our box. This is great to check out if you are considering this subscription as you can see what items you might receive in another age group.

Itzy Ritzy Travel Happens Sealed Wet Bag in XOXO – Retail Value $17.99

I am a big wet bag user and this one is especially nice! It features a nice thick lining inside with an outer fabric layer, which means it will work with the wettest clothes/diapers. The pattern is really cute and the size is great, too. It is machine washable and BPA, PVC, Phthalate, and lead-free, so this is a great eco-friendly option!

It features an adjustable snap strap which is great for carrying or strapping it onto a stroller or bag. I love to use these at the beach or any time really, usually to stash a dirty set of clothes in if we happen to need a change while on the go.

The Wonder Seed Facial Scrub in Water Lotus – Retail Value $14.95

This facial scrub is made with virgin hemp seed oil, which is apparently a “wonder seed.” I had never heard of this brand before, but it is the perfect inclusion in this box as it is vegan & cruelty-free as well as free of parabens, sulfate, synthetics, and made with organic ingredients.

The pamphlet that came with it was very informative on the benefits of hemp seed oil and also highlights a few of their other products.

I was surprised to see that the scrub was actually a clear, gel-like cleanser. The water lotus scent was light to almost non-existent and this was such a gentle scrub with a very light exfoliation that foamed up nicely to cleanse my skin. I liked the clean feel of it and if it really has all of the benefits that it claims, I could definitely see using this on a regular basis!

GoMacro Macrobar Mini in Sun Butter and Chocolate – Buy 24 for $30.95

I love the packaging on this little mini protein bar and the flavor was pretty good with a nice chewy texture. It definitely tasted like sunflower and a hint of peanut butter, but the flavor wasn’t too overwhelming. This 100 calorie bar contains 4 grams of protein and is vegan, gluten-free, and non-GMO. I don’t think I would seek this out, but I wouldn’t turn down another one of these!

Ecocentric Mom Silicone Sippy Lid Set – Retail Value $9.99

This lid set comes in a reusable silicone pouch and features food-grade non-toxic, odorless silicone. I love that they sent us two different types, the spout and the straw-top, and included a reusable straw to go with them. This set will be perfect to throw in the diaper bag for those times when restaurants don’t have sippy cups or straws for your little ones who aren’t so good with an open cup just yet!

Here they are on two different sized cups and they seemed to fit well over both of them. They say these are kid-proof and spill-proof, although they haven’t met my kids, yet! I’m not too concerned with how well they hold liquid though since I’m thinking these will be more of an option to eliminate any major spills in a pinch rather than an everyday lid for us.

Itzy Ritzy Silicone Teether in Ice Cream – Retail Value $8.99

This ice cream teether is so cute and I love the muted blue-gray-green color. The shape and size are ideal for infants Bennett’s age and the different textures and holes are incredibly appealing to his tiny hands and those first two teeth that just popped up in his mouth! This one is made of food-grade silicone which is non-toxic, and free of BPA, PVC, Phthalates, lead, and cadmium.

This is another Bennett-approved teether! It was also approved by big brother who desperately tried to steal this “ice cream” for himself since it is so fun!

Verdict: I really enjoyed this month’s Ecocentric Mom box! That teether and the wet bag were both such great quality items that we have already put to use. I am also happy with the silicone lid set because I know it will come in handy one day while we are out. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the face scrub and I’m always happy to be introduced to new natural skin care! The total retail value of this box came to $53.21 which I think is great for a $32.99 box containing such eco-friendly items!
