February 2019 So Susan Color Curate Review

Each box usually comes with a card detailing the month’s products and prices, but it looks like there wasn't one this time.

Now, on to the items!

Limited-Edition Makeup Bag February 2019 - Retail Value $12.00

CUTE! I love that this bag is repping Galentine's Day! It is just lovey enough without being too cute and covered in sappy hearts and cupids. I fully identify with the girl in the glasses with a huge scarf and bun.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics – Lip Oil in “Watermelon”, 5 ml - Retail Value $21.00

I really like lip oils because they give just the right amount of shine and color for those days when I am wearing minimal makeup. This one has an amazing watermelon smell that I really like. The color is so subtle (and makes my lips look like I just ate a popsicle) and the formula gives my lips a nice boost of hydration. My only complaint would be that the applicator doesn't catch nearly enough product per dip, meaning you have to work a little extra hard to coat your entire lips.

Trifle Cosmetics – Eye Candy in “Baklava”, 3 g - Retail Value $14.00

This color combo is unique but still super wearable. The rose gold pairs really well with the soft green and they are both beautiful compliments to my light brown eyes. I tend to favor rose gold or copper tones shadows but I didn't own one this soft so t is a welcome addition. The green enhances the green ring around my eyes and makes them look much closer to hazel.

So Susan Cosmetics – Stratosphere Palette, 14 g - Retail Value $45.00

This palette is really interesting because while I thought it was an eye shadow quad, it is actually a highlighter palette. I can't say I would wear these as highlighters (I am too pale to pull them off without using the barest amount possible) but I would absolutely use them as eyeshadows! The formula starts out feeling creamy and then turns into a super pigmented powder that blends easily and has some major staying power. I love the bold metallic colors and found that they even worked really well when used wet as an eyeliner.

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics – Diamond Twinkle – Fan Brush - Retail Value $29.00

This fan brush is designed to apply highlighters in a soft and natural way. The delicate fibers pick up the powder and disperse the powder on your skin very lightly. It can also be used to blend your favorite blush. I liked the pretty pink brush fibers and the metallic handle.

Verdict: If you love cruelty-free makeup, the So Susan Color Curate subscription is one you should absolutely check out. They always send really unique shades that are always wearable if you are a makeup newbie or a total pro. The eyeshadow duo and lip oil were my favorites this month, and although the quad is out of my comfort zone in terms of highlighters, I do have a super fancy event coming up this weekend and I will try them out as eyeshadows in a complete look. The brush was a nice little addition this month with a highlighter palette. The retail value of this box is $121, meaning you get a lot of bang for your $20.95 investment.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I can’t wait to get this month’s bag! Like you I am far too pale for the highlighters, but they look like they will be gorgeous eyeshadows! I don’t see anything I won’t use. ❤ the bag as well, it will be a keeper!

Last month was my first month with SS thanks to your reviews. I thank you, my wallet doesn’t though 😉☺ lol

Aww yay Twyla! I hope you like this sub as much as I do! The majority of everything I have ever gotten from them is totally wearable, especially for someone like myself who isn’t into super heavy makeup. Enjoy! <3
