Buttercream Frosted Cut-Out Cookies, 12 ct – Retail Value $29.99

When I want a sugar cookie, I want a Cheryl’s cookie. I don’t have them often because, you know, calories, but when I do I savor their buttery softness and how they feel like a pillow on my tongue. This month I actually received two broken cookies, which is a first since I started subscribing! Chery’s customer service was awesome when we reached out- they offered us the choice of a reshipment with double the number of cookies, a full refund, or a savings pass to use on our next order. This is a popular subscription for gifts, so it is nice to know that the customer service will make sure your gift arrives to the recipient satisfactorily.

The Verdict: I really love these cookies - they're like a box of cheer that arrives every two months. For how much I enjoy these cookies, however, I am not sure if the subscription is worth it with the new pricing model. Previously a box would cost $23.98 ($16.99 + $6.99 shipping), but the cost has increased pretty significantly. Now, a box is $21.99 + $9.99 shipping, bringing the total to $31.98. I don’t feel like you are really saving much by subscribing the way the previous pricing model allowed you to.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? I believe so! Sign up before the end of the 3rd week of the month to get those month's cookies.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $31.98 ($21.99 + $9.99 shipping) and I received 12 delicious cookies. That breaks down to about $2.66 a cookie.

I love these cookies! I usually stock up whenever I see a good sale! I have the passport, since I use it for gifts often… Ships free and saves me a ton.

It makes me so sad that so few people know how to bake anymore. It’s insanely easy to make cookies like these. I never knew how fortunate I was that my grandmother taught all of her grandkids how to bake until I became a parent & saw all of the store-bought junk at the “bake” sales. I passed it along to my daughter, who makes especially wonderful cupcakes from my grandma’s from-scratch recipes. She is mowed down for them at school whenever she brings them in for birthdays/etc.

(Long way of me saying that’s WAY too much to pay for a dozen cookies.)

Off topic, but those plates are great. Are they vintage or replicas? Thanks!

I think I will stick to taking a walk down to Starbucks when I have a deep sugar craving, at least that way I can feel better about having the sugar, not that the walk is far hahahahaha

They often offer a box of 6 cookies for $9.99 shipped. Sometimes, it’s a mixture of different cookies and other times, it’s all buttercream. That’s about $1.65 a cookie. I buy it pretty often, I like most of their cookies.

I have had Cheryl’s cookies in the past and I thought they were okay but nothing to rave about. I then discovered Comfort Cookies. They are amazing. Made in Vermont with more than 40 flavors. They also offer gluten free. The cookies are big and delicious. They too have a subscription offer. Here is the website. http://www.comfortcookiesinc.com. I don’t thinks you’ll won’t be disappointed.

$24 is still too much for cookies. The Great American Cookie Factory has delicious cookies for like $1.50. I’m just not a fan of icing nor would I pay that much for a cookie.

If you sign up for their emails, they offer great discounts all the time, often good just for one day. Yesterday you could send 6 shamrock cookies to yourself or as a gift for $9.99 with free shipping. They often have the cookies that are just past the holiday discounted. I signed up for their passport program that gives free shipping for a year and used it to send several valentine’s gifts of 24 iced heart sugar cookies for $19.99 with free shipping. But that deal was also just offered for one day. You have to be willing to get the emails to keep up on the deals. They are local for me so I can also go to the mall and pick them up. At Christmas I sent a prepaid 24 cookies a month for 12 months for $199 plus $30ish for shipping and they sent a bonus of 24 extra cookies to the recipient in December. That seemed like a good deal. The prepaid subs are cheaper than the pay as you go subs.

I would buy this as a one time gift for someone but too expensive to buy a monthly sub.

I wonder how much longer Cheryl’s will off a monthly sub given the price increase.

Those cookies are about the same price as cheesecake factory cheesecake. As a gift receiver I would be way more impressed by cheesecake factory and you get to pick different flavors each month, not just sugar

I discovered Cheryl’s years ago when they were just starting and sending free samples. Generous ones. I never subscribed but I would order some occasionally if I had a good discount code. It’s been years though. When I saw this review I thought maybe I should subscribe because they’re definitely delicious, although I prefer a variety of their cookies as opposed to just the sugar ones. I can’t believe how much they’re charging now! They are scrumptious and arrive very fresh but almost $3 a cookie? And they’re not even the big ones like you get in cafes? No way would I pay that!

I got to try them as we got a delivery at work and they shared and holy cow what a sugar overload! No way I could eat one cookie without removing the icing but the cookie was awesome.
