Bulu Box February 2019 Review

There isn’t a theme for Bulu Box and there is some personalization involved, so the contents are usually a surprise:

Bulu Box Review February 2019 - Information Card Front TopBulu Box Review February 2019 - Information Card Back Top

Because of the variations with this subscription, there’s not a traditional information card listing the items.

There are also usually some coupons and/or product literature with this subscription. They don’t always relate to the items in the box, although sometimes they do.

Bulu Box Review February 2019 - Mighty Muscadine Seeds and Skins Supplement Container TopBulu Box Review February 2019 - Mighty Muscadine Seeds and Skins Supplement In Hand Top

Mighty Muscadine Seeds and Skins Supplement (60 vegetable capsules) – Estimated Value $32

The product that Bulu Box links you to on their site (and that I link to above) isn’t precisely the same, that one contains only muscadine seeds, whereas this one also contains the skins. But I have given them the same value because they have the same package size and come from the same company. (Muscadines are a variety of grapes in case you didn’t know; they’re all over the place in Georgia but I had never heard of them when I lived in Missouri.) They have just tons of antioxidants including resveratrol, so they’re the sort of thing you can take to hopefully prevent a problem in the future, but you probably won’t see results right away. These are vegetarian capsules, which I appreciate.

Bulu Box Review February 2019 - Fuel EZ Natural Fuel for Life Top

Fuel EZ Natural Fuel for Life (1 capsule) – Buy 6 Capsules for $19.99

This is basically a diet energy drink in pill form, despite all the advertising copy – the ingredients are the same. There is a ton of caffeine in this and then also some B vitamins and vitamin C (but no sugar). They promote being all natural, but caffeine from natural sources is still caffeine. I can’t figure out whether or not this is vegetarian because I’ve looked on four different websites that sell this and not one of them says what the capsule is made of. That kind of puts me off trying it, to be honest, because I feel that complete disclosure of supplement ingredients is absolutely essential, and the capsule has to be made of something that is not in the ingredients list I am finding. This is made in Brazil where labeling laws may be different.

Bulu Box Review February 2019 - Plantfusion Phood 100% Whole Meal Shake in Chocolate Caramel Top

Plantfusion Phood 100% Whole Meal Shake in Chocolate Caramel (1.59 oz) – Buy 16.5 oz for $37.35

This is vegan so I was happy to try it (it is actually free of most of the major allergens as well as artificial flavors and colors). I don’t care to drink protein powders, especially vegan ones, just mixed with liquid, but I was happy to put some of this in my morning smoothie and I think the flavor combination worked well. I’d suggest mixing with a stick blender if you have one available for the best texture. This also has some greens.

This product in a different flavor was also in the weight loss version of Bulu Box this month (review coming soon!).

Bulu Box Review February 2019 - Florastor Plus Immune Support Supplement Box TopBulu Box Review February 2019 - Florastor Plus Immune Support Supplement Container Top

Florastor Plus Immune Support Supplement (30 vegetable capsules) – Retail Value $26.16

This is out of stock everywhere but I’ve linked to a site where you can sign up to be alerted when it comes back into stock. This is slightly different from the Florastor supplements we’ve received in past months. This also has yeast as the main ingredient but also includes zinc, vitamin C, and vitamin D3. Two things I like here are: (1) this does not require refrigeration, and (2) the capsules are vegetarian. I can’t say as of yet what this is doing for me because probiotics can take weeks or months to show an effect, but at least they give you a lot to try.

This product was also in the weight loss version of Bulu Box this month (review coming soon!).

Bulu Box Review February 2019 - Grenade Carb Killa High Protein Bar in Cookie Dough Packet Top

Grenade Carb Killa High Protein Bar in Cookie Dough (2.12 oz) – Retail Value $29.50 (found here for $27.25)

I am kind of sad that this one is not vegetarian (it contains gelatin, which can only come from animal sources). I handed this one off to my husband to try and he was a fan. We tend to stick to low sugar protein bars and this one is low in sugar but has a ton of protein (20g) as well as reasonable amounts of fiber and fat.

Verdict: This month’s Bulu Box had five samples, so they’d average about $2 each. It should be noted that although I had a bit of trouble finding both the muscadine supplement and this particular kind of Florastor for sale at the current time, their combined retail values are close to $50, so you are definitely getting your money’s worth this month (even if you are vegetarian, since both of those come in vegetable capsules). You usually can count yourself lucky with this subscription if you get one large supplement product per month, but getting two is kind of like hitting the jackpot (assuming you’re into supplements – if you’re not, this is probably not the subscription for you, because you will get a lot of them).

I’d strongly recommend using our MYSUB799 coupon code when you subscribe and choosing either the regular or the weight loss box, but not both since there is a lot of product repetition between the two.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, March would be your first shipment. Also, keep in mind that there are variations in the boxes, so your box might not be exactly like mine in any given month.

Wow! You got a good box! I would love to get the muscadine tablets! I did get Florastor, but mine was in a box, not a bottle, but they are called the same thing. I also got an EZ thingy, but mine was for hangovers, which I don’t have to worry about. I also got the Phood although in plain old vanilla. And I’m very excited to try “Cover Three nurtritional brain defense,” which I received a single serving container of in my box.

The Florastor bottle was inside that box that is also pictured. Although Bulu Box seems to be offering at least two Florastor products at this time (I received some others last month, I think). Your box actually sounds like the other box I received (review coming soon). The “nutritional brain defense” is basically fish oil.

Oh, well, now I feel dumb. I didn’t open the Florastor box yet because I am still using my current supply of similar items. I didn’t even read the ingredients in the “Cover Three.” I went to their website and it sounded very scientific. Oh well!
