Bluum January 2019 Review

This Bluum box was sent for my son, Parker, who is 2.5 years old. Let's see what we received this month:

Pull Squeaky Crab by Sky Blue for Bluum - Estimated Value $13 (find a similar toy here)

This is an exclusive item made for Bluum in partnership with Sky Blue. I couldn't locate this exact one online, but similar toys ranged in price from $10-$20. I estimated a little higher than the lower end just because this guy does have some fun moving parts! This wooden crab has eyes that wiggle back and forth and the claws are attached to springs so they can flop back and forth, too. We have two similar wooden pull toys that we've received as gifts so now we have one for each of the kids and they have been having fun pulling them around the house together!

Wooden Xylophone by Sky Blue for Bluum - Estimated Value $10? (similar toy found here)

This wooden xylophone is another collaboration with Sky Blue so I couldn't find the exact one online. We have a plastic xylophone already, but this one is much better because the wooden slats make nice sounds and the stick is not attached to the xylophone so they have full range to really let loose and play. Meaning this will go in our special instrument basket that mommy only brings out on special occasions! Haha. It does seem like a well-made set though and because it is wooden, the sound is not overly obnoxious which I can appreciate.

I actually caught Parker playing this and singing the other day.

Fat Brain Toys Suction Kupz - Buy 6 for $14.95

I love when Bluum includes toys from Fat Brain Toys. They are one of my favorite toy companies because their toys are so unique and really do appeal to kids and meet their needs for entertainment and play! These silicone suction cups are no exception! They have a suction cup on the bottom that will allow them to stick to almost any surface.

And I do mean any surface! This is another toy that the whole family has been enjoying.

Wee Gallery 32 Ways to Dress a Bunny - Retail Value $4.95

They don't currently have the bunny version in stock for me to link to, but all of these Wee Gallery books are equally adorable. This small notebook features different pages featuring bunnies who need some clothing. The center of each bunny is blank so that you can add your own outfit. I love this book, but I wish it was a little bit bigger.

This small notebook can easily fit in my purse for a little entertainment on the go, but it isn't ideal for Parker to use since he isn't that adept at drawing on a smaller scale yet. That's not too big of a deal for us, because big sister was happy to design her own outfits for the bunnies.

Verdict: I thought the toys we received in our Bluum box this month were all great. I like that some of the toys were created specifically for this box, which gives them an exclusive feel and that they were both nice quality wooden toys. I'm always happy to receive a toy from Fat Brain Toys and that bunny book, while small, is too cute! Overall, a great mix of fun items! Since I was unable to find the exact retail value of several of these items, I had to estimate and came up with a total value of around $35 which is right at the box cost of $34 including free shipping. I did estimate on the lower end and I definitely think the value is there for so many great items.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? All orders are processed the first of every month and shipped out on the 9th. If you order today, you will start receiving a box for next month.

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
