Birchbox Sample Box February 2019 Review
Each box comes with a card detailing the items included and some tips on how to use them. Now, on to the items!
Avene Hydrance RICH Hydrating Cream, .5 fl oz - Estimated Value: $12.31 (Buy a 1.3 oz full size for $32)
These cream is made with Avene's classic thermal water, but also with shea butter, too. It felt very hydrating and gentle. I did think the fragrance smelled like baby wipes, though, which I guess isn't particularly bad, just something I noticed.
Nexxus Therappe Ultimate Moisture Shampoo, 3 fl oz - Estimated Value: $3.38 (Buy a 13.5 oz full-size for $12)
Nexxus Humectress Ultimate Moisture Conditioner, 3 fl oz - Estimated Value: $3.38 (Buy a 13.5 ox full-size for $12)
I'm generally excited about getting shampoo and conditioner from boxes when they're in bottles like this and not foil packets. These actually came at a perfect time because I needed new ones to toss in my gym bag! I liked this shampoo & conditioner pair; they smelled nice and did the job. I wasn't particularly excited about the brand, especially when Birchbox offers some really great hair care brands, but I liked them and will use them so I'm not really disappointed.
Sunday Riley Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream, .1 fl oz - Estimated Value: $13 (Buy a .5 oz full-size for $65)
Yay for Sunday Riley! This was my sample choice selection this month. I am not someone who struggles with constant dark circles, but as a mom of littles, I definitely have my fair share of puffy, tired eyes. This eye cream works well! I've used it 3 days in a row and I am pretty sure my eyes look brighter. They feel better, at the very least - less dry/sad when I pat on concealer. I'll take all the Sunday Riley I can get through subscription boxes - I have been really pleased with most of the products I've tried from her line!
MAC Cosmetics Lip Glass in Spite, .08 oz - Estimated Value: $14 (Buy a .1 oz full-size for $17.50)
I don't think I've ever tried MAC's lip glass before, somehow. I actually quite like it! The formula is comfortable and has jojoba oil to help hydrate your lips, too. This color is everything, though. It's call Spite and it's a beautiful, plummy brown. This medium-coverage formula doesn't lean too cool or too warm, and would look good on any complexion, I think. This is a fantastic everyday shade, and this is currently in my purse as my new go-to.
Verdict: I got a good February Birchbox! I'll use up everything, and I'm especially happy with the MAC and the Sunday Riley. The estimated value total adds up to $46.07 - a fantastic value from a $10 sample box!
