I just switched to Birchbox. I’m pleased with most of the samples I’ll be getting, but I never got an opportunity to pick a sample and I *really* wanted that pillow spray…

Liz

I didn’t get a choice to pick last month but I was happy with my box. I would love the curated box this month.

I’ve waited 12 months for spoilers like this so I could re-sub! Finally

OMG… Hard choice… Everything looks great this month. Do all boxes get six items or just the curated box?

Erika

I selected a choice item last month instead of the curated box — and regretted that choice. The curated this month is even better. The other items in my Feb box were uninspired or diminutive. I liked being able to choose something nice, but, not if it means another Eyeko, Perfume Sample and Beauty Protector detangler. (triple repeats for me)

I love that sleep spray too, drat. i know it was in one of their curated Nighttime boxes they put on sale every few months…

Outside of the last box, BirchBox has been my favorite company to purchase from these past few month. I’m amazed at their promotions and generous bonuses. Shipping time is a drag, but seems like all of the boxes are using some awful ‘smart’ logistics company that takes too long.

I want to try that sleep spray too but the curated box does looks great. I can’t stand oil cleansers but that’s probably because I have oily skin. I love the Beauty Protector in the red bottle but I’ve never been lucky to get a repeat of it.

Hi Ladies,

Does anyone out there have the Allure box and if so can you confirm if this is the same eyeshadow duo? Allure’s website makes it seem like a light color whereas BB makes it seem like darker pinks. I have a sub to Allure but very tempted to get this curated box. Is it wrong to resub to BB again and then cancel shortly after?

Reply ButtonReply

Mandie Miller

It is the EXACT same

Reply ButtonReply

Trudy

It’s the same. Just got my allure box and colors r identical.

Reply ButtonReply

Rochelle

Stephanie, I received my Allure box today and the eyeshadow trio I received is Mykonos not Positano as described here. That being said, it does look like the one shown here on this Birchbox post & wasn’t what I was expecting to get in my Allure box. That probably doesn’t help much!

Reply ButtonReply

Kathie

I have my palette from Allure right in front of me. They are both metallic trio palettes that look very similar. But the one in Allure is called: MYKONOS I used one today and it’s very nice.

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

Going to look when I get home. The allure one looks cooler in the photos and this one looks warmer, but it could just be the lighting. It’s probably the same, there is only one option listed on the modelco website (Mykonos, which is what Allure’s is called).

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

And by photos, I mean the ones that pop up if you google modelco mykonos – not the ones on MSA. The photos on MSA do not represent what you receive.

Jess

Its the same in allure

Reply ButtonReply

Heidi

The Allure ModelCo trio was named Mykonos, but it looks identical to this picture.

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

Yep, a little Google research revealed that it is the same palette. And no, start and stop as often as you want on your subs. Whatever makes you happy!

Reply ButtonReply

Li

Same pallate

Reply ButtonReply

Dawn

The eyeshadow palette is not the same collection name as the Allure. It appears more pink than the one I got in both of our Allure boxes. I am going with the curated box this time.

Reply ButtonReply

Bonnie

Ugh…first time EVER I want two of the sample choices. I want the scalp oil and I love the pillow spray. I should just cave and buy the spray.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

It is the first time I don’t want any sample choice lol

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

The curated box is worth it for the Oribe alone!

Reply ButtonReply

Mandie Miller

Omgosh!! The Oribe is sooo expensive!! But, so good!!

Reply ButtonReply

Emily

Hmmmm. Thinking the curated box, but might try the amika. Great options this month!

Reply ButtonReply

Brianna

I recently cancelled my BB subscription as I felt it was lacking in value. Does anyone know if I resub now if I will be able to select a sample for March?

Reply ButtonReply

Stephanie

You won’t get the welcome box if you were previously subscribed, then cancelled and want to resubscribe. I did the same thing for Feb and while they didn’t give me a sample choice (i signed up too late in the month for that) they sent a variety of other samples available in Feb.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

I re-subscribed a while ago, and they sent me the welcome box. Actually, I think mine was called a Birchbox Favorites box. Maybe it’s a crapshoot which type of box a re-subscriber will get?

Debanjali Banerjee

i think. if you resubscribe again, the first month probably surprise. from next month on wards they will let you choose sample. that happens with me when i resubscribe.

Reply ButtonReply

Colleen

But I am not sure if they will send you the February box first? You should call and ask .

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

The first box they chose for you, I think.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

I think you’re right. They call it their Welcome box, or Birchbox Favorites, or something like that.

Frances

Love that they’re giving an extra 6th item in the curated box this month!

Reply ButtonReply

Poppy

Curated box looks awesome!

Reply ButtonReply

Colleen

The curated box looks great.

Reply ButtonReply

Dani

That is definitely an awesome curated box. That is my favorite mascara, and I have a different ModelCo trio that is very pigmented. Plus that Kiehls cleansing oil is amazing. And who doesn’t love Luxie brushes? It’s almost tempting enough for me to resub. Almost.

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

Definitely curated (& six items!!!), though I am intrigued by scalp oil in the future. Eye shadow trio looks similar to the one in Allure’s Feb. box.

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

My thoughts exactly, Jackie. I really want to try the scalp oil, but the curated box looks great this month! I’m confused by the eye shadow trio as, based on the Allure spoilers, I was *not* interested, but based on these Birchbox spoilers, I am very interested. I love metallics! I don’t remember anyone pointing out that the one in Allure was metallic. I skipped this month of Allure because none of the products appealed to me.

Reply ButtonReply

Rochelle

Melissa, the palette that I got in allure, which seems to be the same one coming in this Birchbox, is actually MORE metallic in my opinion than it appears in the photo on this post. All three of the shades have a deeper metallic look than you can see in this photo- even the neutral shade isn’t as matte as it looks here & is very metallic IMO. I’m not an eyeshadow expert at all but I think they are very metallic and you would be pleased.

Luna

The one in Allure definitely had a metallic-like finish to it.

Luna

I was wondering where I got that eyeshadow trio recently from. What’s sad is that I just got that trio only two or three days ago, and I already forgot which box it came in! Lol!!! Struggles of a sub box addict. 😀 Even though I gifted that trio to my mom, she swatched it right away, and the colors were super pretty… especially that red.

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

Well, that’s odd because I did not like the looks of the trio in the Allure spoilers, and I actually skipped my Allure box this month, but now I see this palette in Birchbox and think it’s beautiful and am going to select the curated box. Hmmm – is it just a difference in lighting of the pictures, I wonder?

Twyla

LOL It came in the Allure box. 🙂 I just received it as well. Very pretty colors for me.

amber

I believe it is the exact same one, it’s Mykonos. So either they have the name wrong, or the wrong trio pictured. Though I didn’t come up with anything when Googling Positano

Reply ButtonReply

Becky

Definitely not Positano–that’s a single shade, a shimmery bright turquoise color. Mykonos for sure.

Dawn

I agree. It may be the same renamed for Birchbox. The dark shade at the bottom of the mykonos is a purplish burgundy metallic. Very metallic. The Birchbox looks suspiciously similar.

Jackie

Same, though the other looks a bit cooler than this palette.

Lori

So many repeats…I have multiples of everything in the curated box except the My Clarins. My question is: does everyone get the Luxie brush bonus or is that just an incentive to get the curated box???

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

I believe it is only in the curated box.

Reply ButtonReply

Dawn

It looks like it is part of a six item curated box selection. Let’s hope so for those who choose the curated box. I would hate to see Birchbox enter the world of broken promises that Allure has fallen into. As of yet, I have not received either referral bonus which they promised. Referrals from last year.
