When you sign up, you fill out an extensive style profile. They ask what kind of items you would like to receive along with size, color, style, and price point preferences. Each category is ranked with a like, dislike, or love. There is also a space to leave notes for your stylist. By the end, your stylist should have a very good idea of what you like and don’t like.

Wantable Style Edit January 2019 Review

My stylist was able to include 4 of my requested items plus a few other things she thought would fit well with my current wardrobe. Let's see what she sent!

info packet front Info packet back info packet contents

Wantable recently rebranded and updated their look. They refreshed the logo design and added this little sleeve to hold the invoice, return bag, and any extra info. This month they also included some information about the Fitness Edit side of their service.

stylist note

The info booklet includes a note from your stylist and the invoice. This month, Tatjana sent me 6 clothing items and 1 accessory.

invoice

And here’s my invoice. If I were to keep the entire box, the $446 total would be discounted $109.20 (20% off + $20 styling fee deducted) for a total of $336.80. With this discount, each item would cost an average of $48.11.

pre paid return bag

Wantable also includes a prepaid return envelope to send back any items I don’t want to keep.

waffle knit top front waffle knit top back waffle knit top fabric detail

W. by Wantable, Waffle V-Neck Drop Shoulder Top in Mocha, M - Cost to Keep $58 (Return)

I sent this back and now I'm totally regretting it! 🙁 The waffle knit material is 60% rayon, 35% polyester, and 5% spandex and the perfect weight to be warm and cozy but not stuffy. I love the way the black and tan thread is woven together creating a nice texture. The drop shoulders and split hem give it a casual vibe and it looks great thrown on with a pair of jeans. This was one of the items I requested from the Stream, which has proven very successful.

Kut from the Kloth, Mia High Waist Skinny in Premier Wash, 6 - Cost to Keep $89 (Keep)

Now, I did love these and kept them. 🙂 I recently purged my jean collection and was in need of a solid dark wash skinny. These are perfect as my everyday jean. The denim is made of 91% cotton and 7% polyester with 2% elastane for comfortable stretch. They're nice and thick with a soft feel and are totally matte. I love, love, love the high waist since it smooths out my midsection and covers my whole butt. These are another of my requested items from the Stream.

red sweater front red sweater sleeve red sweater back

Design History, Mixed Media Sweater in Bordeaux/White, M - Cost to Keep $68 (Return)

Another Stream request of mine...this one was more of a whim since it's outside of my normal style. I love the rich red color and the mid-weight knit, which is 70% acrylic, 20% wool, and 10% nylon. The white shirt part, which is just a panel of fabric attached at the bottom, is 97% cotton and 3% lycra. I think the split cuff on the sleeve is interesting, but I'm not sure I love it. I really like the idea of this top and the ease of achieving the layered look, but I wish the white part carried over to another part of the top. Maybe if it was peeking out from the split cuff of the sleeve, it would look a little more cohesive.

black top

1 State, L/S Open Neck Rushed Rib-Knit Top in Rich Black, M - Cost to Keep $59 (Return)

I pretty much knew I wouldn't like this top when I pulled it out of the box. It's a very thin, ribbed rayon/spandex material that is very form fitting. The middle of the bust and armpit area(?) are ruched and shape the open neckline. I've gravitated away from very open necklines like this, so this just isn't for me. I do like that it can be tucked in and layered easily. If it had been a turtleneck, it might have been perfect.

Meritage jeans front Meritage Jeans back

Meritage, High Waisted Button Fly Skinny in Galvez Wash, 28 - Cost to Keep $88 (Return)

Oh, I love Meritage jeans so much. The only reason I sent these back is that I already have a pair of skinny grey jeans similar to these. The button-fly, high waist is supportive and comfortable and the material is thick and soft. These are ankle length and look cute with flats, sandals, booties, and even heels. I'm kinda regretting not keeping them, but I wanted the other items I kept more.

jewelry pouch earrings outside of pouch earrings close up earrings hinge earrings worn silver side earrings worn gold side

Argento Vivo, Two Tone Reversible Huggie Hoop - Cost to Keep $42 (Keep)

The accessory my stylist included this month is another one of my requested items. I don't have any simple, small hoops and I love the look of huggie style earrings, so I wanted to try them. The great thing about this pair is that they are basically 2 in 1 with gold on one side and silver on the other. The hinge style closure creates a streamlined look when worn and makes putting them on easy (from the front or back of the lobe). They are made of Sterling Silver, and I'm assuming plated on the gold side, so they're fine for my sensitive skin.

white tee front white tee side

Z Supply, Side Wrap Tee in White, M - Cost to Keep $42 (Return)

My last item is this super soft knotted tee. I really like Z Supply shirts because they are so soft and drapey. Unfortunately, this one just didn't quite sit right on my body. The knot is a cool detail, but I think it would have looked better if it hit at my natural waist instead of my navel. The drop shoulder effect isn't my favorite here either; it visually pulls me down.

The Verdict: My stylist did a really nice job of selecting items for my Wantable Style Edit this month! I'm happy she was able to include 4 of my requested items plus a few other basics to try. Making choices was tough this month since I liked so many of them! I'm even feeling 'not buyer's' remorse (didn't know that was a thing, did ya?) for sending the waffle knit top back. Since I’m keeping 2 items, I don’t receive the 20% discount, but my $20 styling fee will be applied to my purchase. So the total for the 2 items is $111. For $20 a month (which also includes free shipping and returns), Wantable Style Edit is a fun and convenient way for me to shop for clothes.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Wantable curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This styling fee for this box is $20.00 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $446. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, and if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 20% discount. As long as I keep at least 1 item, my $20 styling fee is applied to my purchase.

I fell in love with the Waffle Knit sweater the second I took it out of the box. Very lightweight, soft and comfortable. I knew it was a keeper. Unfortunately it snagged 3 times within the first hour of wearing.

The Bordeaux sweater is a good color on you. Hope you can find another style in that color.

I agree! You look great in everything! You pull off all these items well! FYI…the KUT jeans are always at Nordstrom Rack for a lot less (wink). Jeans look perfect! Now get the sweater back that you returned 🙂

I really love Wantable and don’t think it gets enough credit among clothing boxes for giving people some input in their boxes and providing really good quality items. I just wish they had more skirts and dresses, and if they had shoes I’d never use another service! Speaking of which–those black and red shoes are STUNNING! Where did you get them!??!?!
