Sugarfina is a gourmet candy company that offers everything from Dom Perignon champagne gummy bears that have a cult following to birthday cake caramels and chocolate bacon pretzel bites.
They recently offered a Fukubukuro Mystery Bag, a $35 mystery bag with a promised value of at least $70 of Sugarfina sweets. They also offered a $50 bag with a $100 promised value.
FYI – this box is no longer available for purchase, but they seem to offer a mystery bag about twice a year.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Sugarfina Fukubukuro Mystery Bag Review
Rosé Roses Taster Packet – Retail Value $3
These are a firm gummy rose that is rosé flavored. These are like a sweeter version of the champagne bears and I liked them.
Ice Cream Cones Taster Packet – Retail Value $2.50
These are interesting. They are gummies, but they have a foamy gummy texture rather than a traditional gummy texture. I didn’t taste ice cream per se, but I did taste yogurt. Ultimately I don’t think yogurt-flavored gummies are for me, but you may have a different opinion.
Disney Mickey Mouse Buttons, Small Candy Cube – Retail Value $8
These cute little candies were made to celebrate Mickey’s 90th anniversary! If you have ever had their champagne bubbles these are essentially the same as they are a firm gummy coated in nonpareils. These are flavored with raspberry (red), blackberry (black), and white currant (white). I enjoyed these- they were tasty and had a fun texture contrast.
Champagne Bears, Small Candy Cube – Retail Value $8.50
I would say these are the most popular Sugarfina offering, but they aren’t my favorite. These are made with real Dom Perignon champagne, and they taste almost like a sprite, only without the carbonation and not as sweet (I feel like I just described champagne, but I have never really actually drank champagne so I can’t be sure). I prefer my candy to have a bit more flavor or texture pizazz, so these are a pass for me. These would make an adorable Valentine’s Day gift, however!
Mama and Baby Bears, Small Candy Cube – Retail Value $7.50
These gummies are just darling- you have your regular sized gummy bear that is the mom and the tiny gummy bears that are the babies, and they’re adorable. They’re also delicious with flavors like cherry, peach, strawberry, mandarin, black currant, and lemon. These are like a really high-quality traditional gummy bear and they are a real treat.
Gummy Eggs, Small Candy Cube – Retail Value $7.50
These are orange juice-flavored gummies, but the orange flavor wasn’t very bright. I like my orange juice fresh, so the flavor on these was a little lacking for me. The white part of the gummy has that foamy gummy texture while the yellow egg yolk is the more traditional gummy. The difference in texture was nice, for sure.
Bubbly Bears, Small Candy Cube – Retail Value $8.50
These are my favorite out of the champagne gummy family! Do you know how I said I wished the regular champagne bears had a little more pizazz? These are those same bears but dusted with sweet and tart sugar crystals. The flavor is really amped up and the texture is good, too.
Cinnamon Cereal, Small Candy Cube – Retail Value $7.50
These are like the love child of an M&M candy shell and cinnamon toast crunch. They’re delicious, and the combination of chocolate and sweet cinnamon really hits the spot when I am craving something sweet.
Sugar Lips, Small Candy Cube – Retail Value $7.50
These are so good! They are sweet and sour gummies dusted in sweet and sour sugar crystals and flavored with strawberry, watermelon, and cherry. The sour is present but not too strong, so you don’t have to worry about your tongue getting weird from eating multiples (anyone else know what I am talking about after a date with sour patch kids?).
Mickey White Chocolate Bar – Retail Value $9.95
Another Mickey treat! This is a basic high-quality white chocolate bar with Mickey-shaped sprinkles on one side. The sprinkles add a great texture to the plain white chocolate, and I love the cheerful yellow packaging.
The Verdict: I think this was a great mystery bag from Sugarfina! I am happy with the wide variety of candies sent, though if you’re not a gummy fan this may have been a miss for you. I calculated a total value of $70.45, which meets the promised value of $70. I think some chocolate taster packets could have been tossed in, but overall I am a happy camper with my mystery bag.
