Stitch Fix Kids is a new styling subscription service from Stitch Fix! After filling out a survey, a stylist will pick items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. If you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all items, you also get a 25% discount!)

Stitch Fix Kids January 2019 Review
In every Stitch Fix Kids box, they include a pre-paid shipping envelope for returns and information sheets.
Here's the item list of the clothing they selected for my son, and their individual prices. The items total $217 but with my $20 styling fee applied, and the keep-everything 25% off discount, the total adds up to be $142.75.
I think it is cute that the information sheet has a maze on it for your kid, plus stickers, and the inside flaps of the shipping box have some activities and ideas for how to play with the box, too!
The reverse of that card shows photos of each item (which I love because it makes it easy to reference the pricing sheet).
Western Chief Dinosaur Rainboots, size 9 - Cost to Keep: $26
These boots are adorable! Gideon loved these, but he already has a pair of rainboots (with sharks, that light up!) so I sent these back. They felt well made, though, and I definitely think they would hold up for a good amount of time.
Sovereign Code Daria Short Sleeve Pocket Tee, size 4 - Cost to Keep: $14
This tee is cute; it reminds me of Smee from Peter Pan. It's a little short, but the main reason I didn't keep it was because the fabric was a little thin.
Kid Dangerous Huxley Long Sleeve Graphic Tee, size 4 - Cost to Keep: $14
This white tee features a little sailboat with a pirate flag and animals with hats and eyepatches. It's cute, fit well, and Gideon liked it.
Primary Thierry Classic Knit Draw-String Jogger, Dark Grey, size 4 - Cost to Keep: $22 (currently on sale for $10)
Primary! I love this brand. Honestly, I'd sign up in a heartbeat if they ever did their own subscription box. I've mentioned my love for Primary in my Stitch Fix feedback and they've definitely listened and sent us a few items by them this month. (If you're not familiar, Primary has basic solid (or sometimes striped) items of clothing in tons of colors. It's great for finding matching pieces for photos, holidays, etc. Their pieces have impressed me with the quality and they always fit Gideon well.
That being said, I love these joggers. They fit perfectly and they're super soft. I love the way they look. When I found them on sale from $22 to $10 on Primary's website, I reached out to Stitch Fix and they said they would price match! Score.
Primary Dex the Classic Short Sleeve Tee, size 4/5 - Cost to Keep: $10
Primary again, this basic tee is great, for all the reasons I stated above. The quality and fit are great. Gideon doesn't have much red in his wardrobe - we usually go for grey, blue, and green - and I loved this on him so we kept it! You can see him model the jeans below.
Lazer Daniel Ultra Flex 5 Pocket Skinny Knit Denim, size 4 - Cost to Keep: $24
I had requested jeans, so his stylist sent these. I'm happy with them! They have some stretch, and the wash and fit are nice. Usually, the waist is too big for Gideon with jeans that aren't elastic, but these work! We kept these.
Joules Ivar Applique Graphic Crew Sweatshirt, size 4 - Cost to Keep: $30
What a cute sweater - it features a bear and a giraffe in a red car, with a flap on the trunk, that reveals a crocodile hiding in it. We liked this, but he's all stocked up on sweaters for the season and I worried he wouldn't wear it often enough for the price to be worth it.
Primary Knox the Classic Puffer Jacket, cobalt, size 4-5 - Cost to Keep: $39
This coat! I love this. I feel like a broken record but it has the same quality I have come to expect from Primary. It's lightweight and warm. Gideon loved this jacket. With it being mid-January, we got him a coat for the winter a few months ago, but I'll definitely keep this in mind if he needs another one next Fall.
Primary Kaden the Classic Pullover Sweatshirt, heather grey, size 4-5 - Cost to Keep: $20 (currently on sale for $10)
A good, basic, solid sweater. Stitch Fix price matches items that are on sale from the brand, so this one was matched to $10, too!
Tea Collection Long Sleeve Graphic Tee, size 4 - Cost to Keep: Cost to Keep: $18 (Currently on sale for $10.95)
Tea Collection is another brand I was introduced to thanks to baby clothing subscriptions when Gideon was little. Their goal is "globally inspired, well made, beautiful clothing." I wish you could feel this fabric. I also love the color and graphic. We kept this! I asked Stitch Fix about price adjusting this, too, but it seems the shirt had gone out of stock on Tea's website by the time they responded, so since it wasn't available they didn't match it.
The Verdict: This was a great Stitch Fix for Gideon this month! He and I both liked so many of this month's pieces. Honestly, I would have been happy to keep the whole box had it not been for our budget and items we already owned (rain boots, coat, etc.) I also have to say that I am very much appreciating the quality of the items Stitch Fix sends in our kid boxes. The ones we've kept since starting this subscription have washed and held up well, and I know these pieces will last and get passed down to my younger son. I think the prices are pretty reasonable for the quality. I also like that there are so many items sent - even if you just want to pick one item so you don't lose out on your styling fee, it's not hard to find at least one thing to love without spending much more than you already have with your fee.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what we got, but you will probably get something that fits your child's style and size even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!
Value Breakdown: This box cost $20 (styling fee) with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $217. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, and if I keep all items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the box is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $142.75 if I kept everything. That's a discount of about 34%.
