PinkSeoul Mystery Box Review

Their regular boxes come with an info sheet, but this mystery box came without. Let’s see what I got!

Pink Seoul Mystery - Heimish 1

Pink Seoul Mystery - Heimish 2

Pink Seoul Mystery - Heimish 3

Heimish All Clean White Clay Foam Cleanser, Full-Size! - Retail Value $12 (found on sale here for $11)

This cleanser is made with bentonite and kaolin clay as well as orange peel and lavender essential oils. This is great for oily and acne-prone skin and didn't cause any sensitivity or breakouts. This is something I actually received in my March 2018 Pink Seoul box, but I am not mad about it.

Pink Seoul Mystery - Hyggee 1

Pink Seoul Mystery - Hyggee 2

Pink Seoul Mystery - Hyggee 4

Pink Seoul Mystery - Hyggee 5

Hyggee All In One Cream, Full-Size! - Retail Value $45

I was excited to see this jar- Hyggee is a pretty popular K-Beauty brand, and I have tried the sheet mask version from this line. The first ingredient on this moisturizer is birch sap, and it also has niacinamide, macadamia seed oil, and cocoa seed butter near the top of the ingredients as well as ceramides and jojoba seed oil. This cream is absolutely luscious- the texture is to die for and it sinks into my skin as I apply it like a cool drink of water on a hot day. I have been focusing on applying this to my cheeks, which are the dry spots in my combo skin, and it hasn’t been too heavy for me nor has it caused any clogged pores. I don’t know if I would reach for this during the humid months in south Louisiana, but it is perfect for what my skin needs right now. I also like that it came with a spatula to keep things sanitary, and a space to write the date you open it so you can keep track of when the product will expire.

Pink Seoul Mystery - Cosrx 1

Pink Seoul Mystery - Cosrx 2

Pink Seoul Mystery - Cosrx 3

CosRX Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask, 2.02 oz – Retail Value $18

I don’t think you guys can know how excited I was when I saw this in the box. The morning this was delivered I actually read a review of this on Instagram and was really into it, so when I pulled this out of the box I literally started shouting “ahhhhhh!” The timing could not have been better, and I am happy to report that it lives up to my high hopes. This has a gel texture that isn’t too thick and spreads out evenly over the skin, and it is made with propolis extract as its first ingredient. This has been a great overnight mask to layer over my Hyggee all in one cream, as well as other moisturizers. I wake up the next morning with firm and hydrated skin, and my redness is reduced, too.

Pink Seoul Mystery - Tangerine 1

Pink Seoul Mystery - Tangerine 2

Re:Cipe Slowganic Sheet Mask in Tangerine – Retail Value $3

This sheet mask is made with niacinamide and mandarin orange extract to brighten the complexion. Other notable ingredients include allantoin and cucumber extract, and this indeed left my skin a bit brighter after using.

Pink Seoul Mystery - Banana 1

Pink Seoul Mystery - Banana 2

Tony Moly Magic Food Banana Hand Milk, Full-Size! - Retail Value $10

Tony Moly is the king of fun product packaging and this hand cream is no exception. It smells like banana candy (remember the banana runts, aka the best candy ever?) and actually absorbed quickly into my skin without leaving it greasy. I thought it would be all gimmick and no action, but this is hand cream that works surprisingly well.

The Verdict:  This was an exceptional mystery box from Pink Seoul! All of the products included are great quality from known K-Beauty brands, and I am really excited to have received a new sleeping mask from Cosrx. I think they hit all the major categories, too, with a cleanser, sleeping mask, moisturizer, and sheet mask! Value-wise, Pink Seoul promised a $60 value, and this box has an $88 value.

The Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today?  Yes, this is still available!

Coupon – Save 10% off your first subscription box with code MSA10!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $41.95 ($35 + $6.95 shipping) and I calculated a value of $88. That means you are paying approximately the following per item:

  • Heimish: $5.72
  • Hyggee: $21.45
  • Cosrx: $8.58
  • Re:Cipe: $1.43
  • Tony Moly: $4.77

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

i have a question. warning, it’s probably dumb. okay, the spatula. why??? i hear people say it’s more sanitary, but i can’t imagine that a utensil that sits around until you use it is any cleaner than your hands after you’ve just washed them before you apply product? the spatula looks cool, and seems good for not getting product on your fingers, but you’re going to have to get product on you anyway when you apply. i did try to jump on the train and use a honey spoon i had for my bum bum cream, and i feel like i just ended up getting more product than i needed and had to put some back. my fingers just seem to work better. they’re clean, i don’t see the issue? someone, please, illuminate me! 🙂

I can’t help since I never jumped on that train either! haha. I’ve never worried about sanitation because I always wash my hands before starting my skincare routine too. I do use scoops, but it’s for things like masks, balms, & cleansing balms. It’s not for sanitation reasons, but for convenience since they’re thicker, and I feel more in control using a scoop, plus I really hate the feeling of product getting under my nail. 🙂

I definitely do not need this but, I couldn’t resist the hand cream. The rest is icing on my cake! You all are horrible for my wallet but, amazing none the less!

Isn’t this their 2019 lucky box?

Luna

Pink Seoul came out with a mystery box earlier this year maybe two or three weeks before they changed the name of it to being their Lucky box. Essentially they’re the same box, with different names. 🙂
