December 2018 "Happy Haulidays" Review

This month I received four high-end brushes for eyes and face. All of these brushes are from either the Artist Series or the Creator Series and have precision synthetic and natural bristles. Let’s see what I got:

The theme this month is "Happy Haulidays".

You can go to your account dashboard to rate the brushes you receive and collect reward points. You can also trade in one or all of your brushes (find out more here).

There’s also a 10% coupon code for MorpheMe subscribers.

The info card comes with a photo and short description of how you can use each brush. Many brushes can be used for many different things, so you can make them work best for you.

It’s good to note that you can check their blog for a video rundown of the brushes and how to use them as well.

M413 Brow and Spoolie - Retail Value $4

This first brush is my least favorite of the bunch. The spoolie is ok and is useful for taming brows and softening the look of brow pencil if needed. The brush end is very stiff and scratchy. I'm not sure why it's made like this because it doesn't work for me to apply brow product at all. The best suggestion for it would be to use it to break up clumps in mascara since it basically acts like a little comb.

M458 1" Flat Contour - Retail Value $10

If you've been reading our MorpheMe reviews for a while, then you know they love to include contour brushes. I don't contour often, but this is my favorite of the ones they've sent to me. It's got synthetic bristles that are soft and densely packed. Here I've used it to apply a bit of contour powder under my cheekbones but it's also great for blending out nose contour.

M531 Pointed Pro Blender - Retail Value $7

The next brush I used is this sable-bristled blender. The long, narrow, dome shape is great for softening lines and diffusing product over the lid. Here I went in with a smaller brush and applied a transition shade. Then I used this brush without anything on it to blend, blend, blend. I'll keep this as my "clean" brush for when I want to move product around without adding more.

M553 Tapered Blush - Retail Value $13

Yay for a big, fluffy blush brush! I prefer this to more precise blush brushes because I like a soft glowy look. The tapered sable bristles pick up just the right amount with one tap into my blush pans. It works nicely as a bronzer brush in a pinch too.

Here's my look using all of the brushes included this month.

Verdict: MorpheMe Monthly Brush Club sent four MUA level brushes this month that have a total retail value of $32.50. I've received similar brushes in the past, so nothing is new and novel here but these are good basics to keep around. Except for the brow brush, I'm sure someone really loves the stiff texture, but it's not my favorite.
