Kidbox Baby New Year's 2019 info 2

Each box comes with a price sheet listing each item of clothing, the retail price, and the price Kidbox will charge to keep that item (which is less than retail). There’s also a plastic mailer and pre-addressed sticker to easily return anything you’re not keeping. Also included were some stickers and crayons.

Kidbox Baby New Year's 2019 free gift

Kidbox Free Gift - Estimated Value: $3?

Every month Kidbox includes a free gift. The one for my 3-year-old had a box of playing cards this month, and they included a little-stuffed horse figure in a pretty print for Jace.

Kidbox Baby New Year's 2019 hat

Toby & Company Boys Sherpa Lined Hat w/ Antlers, 18 month - Retail Price: $20, Kidbox Price: $14

This hat is super cute and feels very nice and warm. Unfortunately, it's too small for Jace's head! Jace is very tall for his age and has a big head (both just like his brother) so hats can be tricky anyway.

Kidbox Baby New Year's 2019 socks

Kidbox Baby New Year's 2019 socks close up

Baby Basics Boys 5 Pack Ankle Socks, 12/24 months - Retail Price: $14, Kidbox Price: $10

I am always happy to get kids socks because I never remember to buy them myself. Also, I didn't, like, sort Gideons socks when packing them up once they became too small (is that a thing you're supposed to do to baby socks??), so I have mostly just preferred to grab a few sets of new socks for Jace. These are soft and neutral and will do the job just fine.

Kidbox Baby New Year's 2019 rocket ship shirt

Lucky Jade Boys 2PC Rocket Print Set, 12/18 months - Retail Price: $38, Kidbox Price: $26

Okay, I freaking love this print and this set! Too bad the shirt sleeves are too short! As I said, he's tall for his age, so that's a common issue for him. The main issue is that Jace's sizing info wasn't updated before this box was sent so everything is 18 months when he really needs 24 months. Fortunately, exchanges are easy so it's not a big deal, but it just means there are a few things this month that are too small out of the box.

Gerber Boys Camo Dinosaur 3 Piece Set, 24 months - Retail Price: $22, Kidbox Price: $15

To be honest, I think the retail price in the info sheet is quite inflated. Gerber is not a brand I think of as high quality. It's fine, but I'm pretty sure a 3-piece set from them would be between $8-12? I'm not seeing any comparable pieces online for more than that range, and Target has it listed at $7.95 but it's out of stock so I'm not sure if that was a clearance price or something before it became unavailable or something.

Anyways, that being said, this outfit actually fits Jace really well! It's the only 24-month outfit in this box, which is the size he needs now. The hat is a little small/tight, but it works. I don't really care for camo, and I'm confused as to why camo is combined with a dinosaur? Are we hiding from dinosaurs? Hunting them? I'm not sure about that but I am sure that Jace looks cute in it so it works for me.

Kidbox Baby New Year's 2019 bear onesie

Little Green Radicals Boys Bear Print Onesie, 12/18 months - Retail Price: $16.30. Kidbox Price: $13

Another super cute print! This is a really nice onesie and I appreciate the quality. It's just a little too short to fit Jace comfortably, so we'll be exchanging this one too.

Asher & Olivia Boys Hooded Playsuit, 12/18 months - Retail Price: $22, Kidbox Price: $15

This poor kid. He's like, "what is this and why are you doing this to me?" I think this playsuit is adorable so I tried it on him and it obviously doesn't fit him in this size. But this suit is another one that has a nice quality feel to it and I think would hold up really well over time.

Verdict: This was a pretty good Kidbox for us, as far as styling goes. Besides the fit issues (which were not really their fault because they sent what was in Jace's outdated sizing profile) it is probably the best-styled box and most in line with our taste than they've sent previously.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Your box will be personally curated for you based on your child's age, style preferences, sizing, and Kidbox's current/featured stock!

Value Breakdown: The retail price of all my items add up to about $130.50 according to the info sheet, but with the discount from keeping a full box my total is $68. That's about $11 per item!

My first babybox came a couple days ago. 🙂 (I’ve gotten a few kidboxes for my toddler, but my second eldest needed some 18mth clothes.) I was disappointed that she got a couple 2T outfits when I picked 18-24mth rather than 2T, and clarified in notes and email that she needed 18mth, either larger 12-18mths, 18 mths, or small 18-24 months. Not sure why they sent the 2Ts. Other items were the right size though. Fortunately one of the 2T outfits was a tunic top that actually fits her as an adorable dress – ended up being my favorite item of the box once it was on her! So I’m keeping rather than exchanging for correct size as I like it as a dress, and she’ll grow into it as a top. The other 2T outfit doesn’t have a smaller 18 month I can exchange it for, but I really loved it (gorgeous Burt’s Bees deep purple top and floral pants) I forgot how much I love Burt’s Bees kid’s clothes, the material is always nice quality! My daughter has loads of 2T clothes (hand me downs from eldest and from cousin) but the outfit is so pretty I don’t mind the sizing issue as much as I otherwise would. Accessory was adorable ruffle tights (I really liked these, and it was new for me since I just don’t normally do tights for my kids since they seem too thin to me. But these were nice and thick knitted ones.)

Also got a onesie set (loved the long sleeves and overall design, but fit was a bit wonky as the sleeves were an inch and a half too long! Plus whites/pastels, which I asked to avoid.) and a Masala Baby dress. (I’d special requested to try one if they had one since I loved the Masala Baby pajamas that came in my oldest’s Dreambox.) It was a lovely blue and white Ikat pattern but unfortunately the fit was just off – it pulled and bunched as the skirt was not made with enough give – so the original rv of $58 doesn’t make much sense. The buttons were well sewn behind a hidden flap, a lovely design in adult dresses that looks professional, but that isn’t the most practical design for an impatient toddler either 😉

So sort of hit and miss, I guess? I kept it since she really needs some more 18 month clothes. But I probably won’t get another baby box unless I have a boy next. But I LOVE their customer service. They are so fast and helpful when I have any issues. I plan on getting more of the kidboxes when my oldest moves into size 5.
