ColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Super Shock Shadow in Sequin Box TopColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Super Shock Shadow in Sequin Top

Super Shock Shadow in Sequin - Retail Value $5

I’ve always been a huge fan of CP’s creme-powder shadows. These work best when you load up the product on your fingertip and apply directly, especially if you want to make the most of their exquisite glitter and shimmer finishes. This warm rosy copper has insane multi-dimensional glitter and virtually no fallout, a dream!

ColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Ultra Glossy Lip in Champagne Mami Top

Ultra Glossy Lip in Champagne Mami - Retail Value $6

I’ve been all glosses recently, especially ColourPop’s Ultra Glossy Lip! I have about 6 different shades, and Champagne Mami may be my favorite of them all! This formula is infused with jojoba oil, which leaves your lips with a glass-like shine and no stickiness. I love this moisturizing gloss and its sheer, rosy gold hue, not to mention its dreamy cupcake scent.

ColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Lippie Stix Matte X in Ziggie Top

Lippie Stix Matte X in Ziggie - Retail Value $5.50

This lippie glided on seamlessly and was opaque at first swipe. I didn’t mind the matte finish because it was comfortable on my lips, but wow, this color is just not me. This dark terracotta would be so flattering on someone with a deeper or warmer complexion, but my fair, cool tones were definitely not vibing with this color.

ColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Ultra Blotted Liquid Lip in Doozy TopColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Ultra Blotted Liquid Lip in Doozy Front

Ultra Blotted Liquid Lip in Doozy- Retail Value $6

Blotted and stained lip looks are so gorgeous, but it makes me nervous that my lips will just look sad and dry. I always get ready in the morning by throwing some Aquaphor generously on my lips to prep for any lip product, and I think that is key to wear this beauty. This warm rose shade is so wearable, and its velvety finish is gorgeous! It felt dry on my lips, but not uncomfortably so.

ColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Blur Lux Lipstick in Solo Top

Blur Lux Lipstick in Solo - Retail Value $7

CP’s Lux line has the best packaging I’ve seen for an affordable lipstick. Look at those stars on the bullet! The Blur version of this lipstick is supposed to deliver a soft focus with a blurred effect, and it has a slight vanilla scent to it. Solo is a blue-toned pinky red that applied smoothly and left my lips feeling very dry. I felt like this lipstick accentuated all of the lines on my lips; I definitely prefer a more moisturizing lip color, and this one was just a miss for me.

ColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Super Shock Eyeshadow in Party of Five In Box TopColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Super Shock Eyeshadow in Party of Five Top

Super Shock Eyeshadow in Party of Five - Retail Value $5

The glitz in the Ultra Glitter Super Shock finish never disappoints! Party of Five has a mauve base and all of the blue/green glitter you could ever want. When I first started wearing Super Shock shadows, I was surprised at how long they actually lasted on my lids, but this color stayed true until I was ready to take it off at night.

ColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Super Shock Highlighter in Pinch Me In Box TopColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Super Shock Highlighter in Pinch Me Top

Super Shock Highlighter in Pinch Me - Retail Value $8

Pink highlights add a bit of whimsy to a makeup look, and this pearly lavender/pink highlighter in Pinch Me really takes the cake. It was pretty hard to build up any color, which would be good for anyone looking for a subtle glow; however, this highlight is loaded with violet glitter (not so subtle). I wore this all day, and by noon I could only see the glitter left on my face. I don’t mind a glittery highlight, but without the pink frost, it just looked like random sparkle on my cheeks. I like to apply this, like all of the other Super Shock products, directly with my fingers, but this can also be applied with a small duo-fiber brush for a more diffused glow.

ColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Pressed Powder Shadow in Snake Eyes In Box TopColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Pressed Powder Shadow in Snake Eyes Top

Pressed Powder Shadow in Snake Eyes - Retail Value $5

This pressed powder shadow is a warm metallic brown with a rosy tint. It is super soft and applied like a dream; this would be a great all over color or used in the middle of a halo eye for a frosty pop of color. I already had this shadow in my collection and it is well loved!

ColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - BFF Volumizing Mascara in Black on Black Top

BFF Volumizing Mascara in Black on Black - Retail Value $8

Yay! I was so happy when I saw that they included one of their new BFF mascaras in this mystery bag! I am always looking for bigger, bolder lashes, and this product is my new BFF! It is a dryer formula, and after one coat, I was stunned at how volumized my lashes looked. As far as wear goes, BFF kept a curl for hours, only leaving a few tiny black flakes under my eyes at the end of the day. There are 6 fun colors also available in this formula, and I think I may have to invest in a few of those for when I am feeling festive.

ColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Swatch Top

Here are all the products swatched, from left to right: Lippie Stix Matte X in Ziggie, Blur Lux in Solo, Ultra Blotted in Doozy, Ultra Glossy Lip in Champagne Mami, Super Shock Shadow in Sequin, Super Shock Shadow in Party of Five, Pressed Powder Shadow in Snake Eyes, Super Shock Highlighter in Pinch Me.

ColourPop She’s A Mystery Box Review January 2019 - Look Selfie Front

For this look, I used Sequin all over my lid (check out that sparkle!), one coat of BFF mascara, Snake Eyes as an inner corner highlight and Party of Five lining my lower lash. I am also wearing the Ultra Blotted Lip in Doozy and the highlighter in Pinch Me (which isn’t apparent in the photo). This is a very wearable look that honestly took me 5 minutes to put together; I love how easy their products are to work with!

I was in a rush to get ready the day after I tried all my new products, and I liked it so much I did the same look again!

The Verdict: I really loved this ColourPop Mystery Bag! I was relieved I only had one item they sent out, and I am also so glad they picked such a wide variety of products, colors, and finishes in this mystery bag. I am really loving my new gloss, ultra blotted lip and their new BFF mascara, especially! This is a great way to try out different products at a deep discount, and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase any future launches.

This box costs $25 + $5.99 shipping (or spend $30 on their site and get free shipping).  I calculated a retail value of $55.50, which falls right within their promise of a $55 value. With 9 items in this box, you are paying $3.44 for each item.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

I got the same variation as yours! I’m loving the ultra blotted lip, been wearing it everyday since I got the bag.

Me too! I love how it is matte, but it doesn’t make my lips feel too dry or cracked. 👌🏻

I skipped this because the last one I got was too monochromatic, aaaaaand…

Stunning on you. I’m loving the pigments. Wow. I missed the mystery bag but ended up spending over 100.00 on their site. I was impressed with the reviews and also the pigments in the shadows. Are they for real? I guess I’ll find out.

I have a lot of different products from them, and I love them! The products are great, and you can’t beat their prices!

Wow, I think you’re the only other person I’ve seen who got the exact variant of the bag that I did! I’m really pleased with mine.

Party of Five is one of my absolute favorite ColourPop products. I got it in the LE packaging from the 5 million followers GWP. I’m glad they’ve added it to their permanent line. It’s so great as a one-and-done swipe of shadow, with a darker, sheer rusty-brick base color & the teal-green shifting sparkly highlights adding dimension. I get so many compliments on it (I usually wear it with the Perilune Super Shock Highlighter on the inner corners of my eyes for a slightly more dramatic look — but any green highlight would work).
