Apocalyptic Beauty Look of the Month Club “Ice Queen” December 2018 Review

Apocalyptic Beauty December 2018 - Apocalyptic Beauty Info

Apocalyptic Beauty included two information cards: the first lists all the items included and all of their ingredients, and the second is a business card listing all of their social media.

Apocalyptic Beauty December 2018 - Items Front

December’s theme is Ice Queen, and the colors are shimmery and sparkling blues and icy whites --- and another loose glitter!!

Apocalyptic Beauty December 2018 - Items Back

Their motto is “Stand beautiful amid the ruins.” --- fingers crossed!

Apocalyptic Beauty December 2018 - Jadis Eyeshadow

Jadis Eyeshadow - Estimated Value $5

At first glance, this seems like a sparkling white, but when you swatch it you will find an icy sheen of blue and silver. Beautiful for a true Ice Queen!

Apocalyptic Beauty December 2018 - Ice Maiden Eyeshadow

Ice Maiden Eyeshadow - Estimated Value $5

Textured with full on sparkle, this shadow is just beaming with pale blue and silver glitters that, in the right light, shift to gold.

Apocalyptic Beauty December 2018 - Beira Eyeshadow

Beira Eyeshadow - Estimated Value $5

This shade is definitely a nod to 80’s blue eyeshadow, except with a sparkly update, and I am totally feeling it!

Apocalyptic Beauty December 2018 - Cryomancer Glitter

Cryomancer Glitter - Estimated Value $4.25

Elsa, eat your heart out! This glitter is full of (huge!) holographic snowflakes, circles and hexagons.

Apocalyptic Beauty December 2018 - Insert Gloss Swatches

Snow Glare Multi Chromatic Lip Topper - Estimated Value $8.85

Apocalyptic Beauty makes one of my favorite glosses. I love the shine, and the consistency is a perfect non-sticky, hydrating formula that glides right over your lips. This shade is an icy, multi-chromatic blue to gold topper, perfect for over a nude lip liner.

Apocalyptic Beauty December 2018 - Look1

I started off with a nude shadow base, then covered my lids with NYX Glitter Glue, since I wanted full color payoff on these glittery shades. I then packed Jadis on the inner corners, Ice Maiden in the middle of the lid for a sparkly highlight, and a darker shadow on the outter V for some depth. I then wet an eyeliner brush and glided the sparkling Beira underneath my eye and blended it out with a navy liner. My first move with Cryomancer was to put it below the arches of my brow, but I don’t think I had enough room there for that.

My second idea for using the glitter was to apply a snowflake where I already have beauty marks on my face, and I really liked this subtle look.

Next, I just wanted it to snow a little on my face. I also enjoyed this look quite a bit! I love playing with makeup and moving the glitter around my face made for a quite amusing afternoon.

The Verdict:  Once again, I had a lot of fun experimenting with my new products from Apocalyptic Beauty. They really killed it this month with the fun Ice Queen theme, sampling icy hues and glitter galore this month. The quality and pigmentation of Apocalyptic Beauty’s cosmetics are really impressive, and I am so excited to see how they curate January’s “Queen of Hearts” theme!

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you still sign up today? No. If you sign up after the 21st of each month, you will receive the following month’s box, subscriptions ship shortly after this date.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $12.50 (that includes shipping), and I received 5 items, which is like paying $2.50 per item. I received three eyeshadows, a glitter and one liquid lipstick which adds up to $31.25. I think that is an awesome value for such quality colors and performance!

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

Glitter can be really difficult to pull off…and you did it perfectly. I love the eyes! I also love the necklace…is that from a sub box?
