Yummy Bazaar Full Experience "Italy" November 2018 Review
As our info sheet tells us, this month we are going to Italy!
Baci Perugina Dark Chocolate with Hazelnut and Cocoa Candies, 5oz. - Retail Value $4.90
These candies were the perfect indulgence for my Monday afternoon. Cloaked in 70% dark chocolate and filled with hazelnuts and cocoa, each little piece was an indulgence. I really loved the cute star spangled wrappers. I plan on having these in a little bowl on my table with other desserts for Christmas dinner.
Maina Mini Pandoro, 2.8 oz - Retail Value $3.95
This slightly underwhelming little cake is surprisingly delicious! It reminds me a lot of challah bread, but sweeter, as a cake should be. It is eggy and light, and I plan on buying a larger one to serve with fresh berries and fruit for New Years.
Dried Spicy Spaghettata Pasta Sauce Mix by Marinella, 1.05 oz - Retail Value $3.95
This mix was too spicy for me to enjoy, but I think the idea is genius, especially if you prefer a lighter pasta sauce. These dried sauce kits are really popular in Italy because they are an incredibly convenient way to cook a sauce for your favorite pasta. You rehydrate the mix in a pan with water, add oil, then toss with pasta. My husband liked this spicy mix but I think I might try out another more mild variety in the future.
Organic Monnezzaglia Pasta "The Leftovers" by Marella, 17.6 oz - Retail Value $9.95
This pasta is s pretty! It has all different shapes, colors, and sizes. This whimsical assortment is in homage to the Italian tradition of keeping all leftover uncooked pasta and combining them together at the end of each week. I plan on serving these little gems with lemon, butter, and garlic, so the beautiful features aren't hidden under a heavy sauce.
Mulino Bianco Gemme Biscuits with Apricot Jam, 7 oz - Retail Value $2.95
These little daisy flowers are very cute. As someone who loves apricots, I was especially excited to try these. The cookie part is super buttery and crisp, while the jam gives it the perfect amount of texture and fruitiness. I enjoyed mine with lots of tea.
Italian Torrone Nougat with Almonds and Honey by Torrone Pili, 3.5 oz - Retail Value $6.95
I can easily devour ridiculous amounts of nougat, so I have already hidden this item from myself after sampling it. It is soft and chewy, filled to bursting with almonds, and had an amazing honey flavor. I am going to try and enjoy this treat slowly, but I make no promises.
Verdict: Yummy Bazaar Full Experience Box was filled with delicious items this month. I enjoyed every single thing, minus the pasta sauce mix. My only complaint with this month's box is that it has a total retail value of $32.65 (calculated from the cost of items from their own website), when the box itself costs $35.95, meaning you aren't even breaking even. I know some of the value of this box is the thoughtful curation, but I prefer to see a little more value. Regardless, this was a great box and I look forward to next month!
