What Is Le Tote?

If you don't know much about Le Tote, they are a clothing rental service that allows you to wear and hang on to clothing and accessories as long as you'd like with no commitment to buy them (although you will be charged each month, regardless of if you send your tote back to get a new one or not). If you do happen to fall in love with something though, you can purchase it at a discounted rate (and I'll mention that they also have further "tote sales" at times). They offer regular and maternity subscriptions in several levels from 8-15 pieces at a time. You don't have a stylist, but their system will suggest items based on a series of questions when you first sign up and you'll also have full control to swap out anything you don't like before it ships.

I thought it'd be fun to get you all involved in choosing my clothing and accessories so I decided to let everyone vote on 6 of my 10 items this month. We posted the choices for the community to vote on via our Instagram stories as to what I should get in my next Le Tote. It stayed pretty consistent the whole time with clear winners and they were added to my most recently delivery! Keep reading to see which of the 6 pieces won and what I will wear for the next month!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

About Le Tote

The Subscription Box: Le Tote

The Cost: $79/month for 8 items, $99/month for 10 items, $119/month for 15 items. Subscriptions get cheaper with the omission of accessories.

The Products: Rent 8, 10, or 15 pieces of clothing and accessories for as long as you like with the option to purchase with a discount.

Ships to: Contiguous 48 States in the USA (no Hawaii, Puerto Rico, APO/FPO, or Alaska, unfortunately).

How Le Tote Works

If you're curious as to how the signup process works, I wrote a more in-depth article in October when I received my first delivery and walked through every step of the way. If you're super new to Le Tote, that's a great place to start! I also wrote a lot of tips on how to get the sizing right last month.

There's a pamphlet that comes with your items that goes over the brands and prices. This is also where you'll first hear about a "tote sale" that further discounts items in your tote.

You'll also receive a pre-paid mailer to return any of the clothing and accessories you don't end up purchasing.

This Month's Le Tote Clothing & Accessories

The tote I signed up for sends me 10 total pieces (broken down into 7 clothing items and 3 accessories every month). Let's check out what you voted on and what I chose!

Clement Screw Detail Bangle - Retail Value $38.00 (Le Tote Price $30.00, Tote Sale Price $15.00)

I chose this bangle as one of my accessories because, once again, it reminds me of a more acceptable way to wear the classic punk accessory: a dog collar. I'm thinking Iggy Pop, but for the office, ya know? It's actually different than what is pictured on their site with smaller silver studs on the oblong gold bracelet, but it doesn't bother me too much. Even though I've written before about how hard it is to type while wearing bangles, I am still drawn to them! This one has a hinge that opens so it can easily be slid on and off with an invisible latch that keeps it simple.

Ava Coral Ring - Retail Value $24.00 (Le Tote Price $18.00)

This gold "coral" ring does indeed look like something from the deep sea and is quite a bit larger than ones I normally wear. I think the Pisces in me was interested in the wave-like design. This will turn out to be a bit more of a statement ring compared to my other simple bands, so it should pair well without being overwhelming.

Noir Luxe Two Tone Bar Necklace - Retail Value $24.00 (Le Tote Price $18.00)

Here's one of the items the MSA Instagram followers voted on! It was between this and a beaded number, so I think everyone took my minimalist style into account when choosing this one (or they just personally preferred it which is also fair). I love mixing metals as you can see from the bangle and if you were to peer at my other pieces of jewelry at home. This thin silver chain supports two metal bars- one silver and one longer gold one, that dangle elegantly from it. Such a simple piece which can be worn with anything.

Summer & Sage Strappy Back Detail Dress, size large - Retail Value $70.00 (Le Tote Price $58.00)

Even though the other dress we posted on our Instagram account for the community to vote on actually won, it sadly was not available for me to get for some reason. Luckily, I chose two items that I'd be happy with either way for the voting, so getting this dress instead was fine by me. I went for its long sleeves and length to cover up for the cold winter. The material is a soft cotton blend with some stretch so it hugs my curves nicely without showing too much. The skirt is lightly lined and the back has really cool details that fit perfectly with the green stripes. I feel like a wintermint candy cane! Even though I paired it with white flats in the photo, I can sport some sneakers with this as well for a more casual look. I'm also fixing to pop a jacket over this as well when I wear it to break up all of the stripes.

Summer & Sage Drawstring Jumpsuit, size large - Retail Value $70.00 (Le Tote Price $58.00)

I'm kind of jumpsuit obsessed right now. Rompers, jumpsuits, even overalls. Anything I can step into and be done with is a win in the morning! This heather grey loungewear number beat out some black cropped sweats on Instagram and I'm delighted! Though the fabric is a super thing jersey so it's not super warm, it IS indeed VERY comfy. I keep my house pretty warm in the winter and am looking forward to lounging around in this. I can always put a chunky knit sweater on over it if I need to leave the house and still stay comfortable. The drawstring at the waist ensures a good fit and pockets are always welcome.

Ava Bow Belted Trouser, size large - Retail Value $82.00 (Le Tote Price $68.00, Tote Sale Price $34.00)

These pants were voted winners over some cropped blue pants, but unfortunately, they do not fit AT ALL. Last month I went through detailing how to get the best fit when choosing clothes and here I have failed. It happens sometimes! I almost always wear a large since I have wider hips and a booty but these larges were just too large in the waist that they barely stayed up for the photos. The belt/tie is sewn on one side and doesn't really offer much help without making the wait super cinched and sloppy looking. What a shame!

August 1 Eight Back Tie Top, size medium - Retail Value $82.00 (Le Tote Price $68.00, Tote Sale Price $26.00)

Another item that was voted on was this blush pink blouse. I really like the tie details in the back even though I'll be wearing it tucked into high waisted skirts and pants. I don't own many blouses, so this is a nice change of pace for me, as well as to pop some soft color into my neutral wardrobe. I maaaay have been able to get away with a size smaller, but as you can see at the back, the top is a little long and becomes a little more tight around my hips. I also like that the sleeves are slightly see-thru even though the body is not.

KaÏa Collective Sheer Sparkle Fitted Top, size large - Retail Value $58.00 (Le Tote Price $48.00)

I love love love this top! I "hearted" it probably in the first month of subscribing to Le Tote but held off until now to add it to a delivery. I actually think it was one of the items they auto-populated for me. Though it's not the most comfortable due to the scratchy gold thread throughout, it fits me really well and I really like how it's (again) see-thru. I also love stripes, so this is win/win for me. This will be great for a holiday party or I can even wear it on under my black fitted overalls to bring a little flair to a regular outfit.

Summer & Sage Bell Sleeve Sweater, size medium - Retail Value $70.00 (Le Tote Price $58.00)

The final item chosen by our Instagram followers was this deep green sweater (instead of a light grey one). I have sooo many grey sweaters, so I think they made the right choice! This thing is SO DARN SOFT! Bell sleeves can be tricky to pull off when you need to wear a coat, but these aren't too extreme, so I think they'll fit. I really like this color and it even inspired my latest nail color! I also enjoy the relaxed fit and chunky ribbed look this sweater has to offer. I'll probably get a lot of wears out of this one.

Essentials by ABS Open Front Duster, size medium - Retail Value $118.00 (Le Tote Price $90.00)

I've never owned a "duster" so I thought I'd try this bad boy since I was really into the texture and color of this one. In my mind, I thought I could wear this around the office in lieu of a cardigan or sweater. It's sort of a jacket, but not heavy enough for cold winters and doesn't have any buttons to hold it shut. While I'm not thrilled by that rear view of this, I like how it looks on from the front and side. It's cozy but I think that it gives off a little more of a professional vibe that a cardigan. I'll probably add some pins to it to give it a bit of my own character.

Verdict: I'm quite pleased with my Le Tote items thus far. Thanks to everyone who voted! I've only had them a week, so we'll see how much wear I'll get out of each piece and how I'll be able to pair them with what's in my already existing wardrobe. The pants were the only things that didn't fit which is a bummer but I'll make sure to triple check the measurements next time.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Le Tote deliveries are based on personal style preferences and will be a totally different experience for each person. Sign up today to see what you could be wearing in a few days!

Value Breakdown: The total retail value of the 10 items inside is $636.00 with an average of $63.60 per item but I got to rent them all for a month for just $99.00.
