Nourish Beauty Box December 2018 Review

There's an info card that lists the included items in this month's box and their retail values which I always find helpful!

Seraphine Botanicals Dandelion + Skin Tinted Primer, 0.68 oz. - Retail Value $25.00

I rarely use primers as I try to keep my skincare regimen simple and double up on things like a moisturizer with SPF or a BB cream but I do tend to love the way primers feel. This one is interesting to me since it comes out sort of an iridescent white but then once you start spreading it around, you'll notice a more golden tone. It forms quite a nice base as a primer should and left my face with a sunkissed look. It's not as silky as some other primers I've tried but I found the rest of my makeup seemed to stick to it pretty well.

Seraphine Botanicals Rose Butter in Rosebud - Retail Value $24.00

If you've read some of my other beauty reviews you know I love a double duty lip + cheek stick. This color is a really bold reddish pink that I just love. It's easy to put on lightly and gently sweep around your face with your fingertips then build up the pigment if you need to. I'll probably end up using this solely as a cheek stain though since I don't find the color particularly flattering on my lips. Maybe it was just too much much for me when wearing it as a blush as well? At any rate, It's highly pigmented so a little goes a long way.

Here are swatches for the tinted primer + rose butter.

Troos Skincare + Apothecary Fine Botanicals Facial Oil, 1 oz. - Retail Value $46.00

Really loving the small batch detail to this facial oil with its hand numbering on the back. It's 100% plant-based and of course cruelty-free. Since it's an oil and not a serum, I found that I didn't need too much to cover my entire face. It has a pleasant light scent that really allows you to smell each ingredient like jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, olive oil, rosehip oil, and French lavender essential oil. It took a little bit for this too fully seep into my skin, but it did eventually drink it up and I can tell it will be a good addition for evenings especially in the dry winter.

Peony Cosmetics Silk Elixir, 1.70 oz. - Retail Value $19.95

This leave-in conditioner smells so wonderful! I actually kind of want to eat it, it smells sweet like a juicy peach! It contains coconut, sunflower, argan, jojoba, and sweet almond oils that really bring the shine and help tame my flyaways. I'm always wary of adding additional products to my thin hair but this didn't seem to weigh it down at all.

Verdict: My first Nourish Beauty Box was a great experience since I tend to love natural beauty and keeping the products I receive to a minimum. Sometimes loads of samples can just get overwhelming, so receiving fewer full-size products is where it's at. I enjoy getting a variety of items from skin and hair care to makeup, so there was a good mix here. I'll say that the cheek tint is probably my favorite of the four but the value of the serum is also nice even though I have so many already in my arsenal. Overall- I liked the variety and brands they served up here since they were all new to me!

I love that line of Botanical Butters from Seraphine. I wish the sticks were a little less chubby, because it makes it hard to apply directly to my lips like a lip balm.

LOVED this box! They sent a lip/cheek stain from the same brand a few months ago, so I haven’t opened this one yet since a little goes a long way, but all of the products were fantastic!
