Mommy Mailbox November 2018 "Give Thanks" Review

Each box comes with a card detailing the month’s products and brands. The theme this month is “Give Thanks” and the featured blogger is Summer Green. Sometimes bloggers are simply promotional sponsors, but other times they may inspire the theme or even curate items for the box that month.

Ocho Candy Bar in Caramel and Peanut- Retail Value $1.99

I have never tried this candy bar before, but I was pleasantly surprised at the yummy flavor! The caramel was nice and creamy and I like that it is organic, gluten-free and non-GMO. I'd definitely be open to trying more flavors of this candy!

Glow for a Cause Facial Scrub in Ylang Ylang and Lime - Retail Value $32

This scrub smells so good! I never really gave ylang-ylang or lime much thought as fragrances until this scrub put them together and now I can't get enough! This scrub is made from Australian clay and apricot exfoliants and it wasn't overly abrasive and it left my skin feeling clean and smooth without taking all the moisture out of it. This scrub is free of parabens, petrochemicals, and synthetic fragrances in addition to being cruelty-free. I also appreciated that this is made by a company that is dedicated to donating to various non-profit organizations.

The Greenish Shop Pom Pom Tassel - Retail Value $7.99

This item is actually from the shop of our Featured Blogger this month, which I thought was fun! This cute pom pom tassel can be tied anywhere you'd like to add a bit of flair from purses to diaper bags to backpacks. I don't know if it's really my style to add this to a bag, but the idea is cute! I think I might actually give this to my daughter to add to one of her bags because she will love it. She is all about style, flair and accessorizing!

Star Stuff Collective Opalite Bracelet - Retail Value $24.95

This bracelet is simple and the translucent color means it will go with just about any outfit. I love the way the beads practically glow with their iridescent qualities. Opalite is supposed to be an energetic stone that is ideal for meditation, which sounds just about right for a mommy box!

Here it is on my wrist. The elastic band makes it easy to fit any size wrist and it doesn't slide much since it stretches to fit.

Papermart Paper Straws 10 ct. - Retail Value $0.89

These paper straws are so festive and perfect for November with their orange color. These are cute and perfect for entertaining. These aren't a high-value item, but they go nicely with the last item in our box!

Slant Give Thanks Napkins 20 Ct. - Retail Value $6.00

They didn't have these exact napkins available on their site, but they did have a lot of other fun ones and all of them were priced similarly! These napkins are also perfect for entertaining and I think they go nicely with the straws. I love the mulberry color with the metallic gold on the front. They are simple and elegant, but then when you turn them over you get a whole new pattern which is equally pretty, but more playful with its checkered pattern.

Verdict: I thought that November's Mommy Mailbox was a good mix of pampering and practical items. The napkins and straws were cute and festive and will be great to pull out for entertaining. I enjoyed the candy bar and I love the facial scrub! Overall, it was a fun curation although it didn't feel like every item quite fit under the "Give Thanks" theme. The total retail value of this box came to $73.82 which is great for a $33.95 box!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

It seems like only the scrub and maybe the bracelet were good items. But the tassel, straws, and napkins?? I’m also concerned with how the tassel only has a thin piece of string for you to tie it to things

My comment about this box which I submitted yesterday has still not posted– was there something wrong with it??

I don’t know how these boxes stay in business. It’s just random junk with useless filler thrown in.

So glad I cancelled this subscription. Paper straws and a pom pon? Lame!

After being a subscriber for over 2 years I was so aggravated that I finally had to cancel. My Nov Box arrived well into Dec (and only after I contacted them twice) after a shipping label was created on 9 Nov. I have gotten so tired of the “fulfillment problems” and “waiting on an item” excuses. I don’t know exactly which item was the cause of this months delay– certainly not the paper napkins or straws. The tassel looks like a child’s art project– I don’t even know what I will do with it. The bracelet and the bar are just OK. And this is now my 3rd jar of scrub. The boxes used to come right on time during the 1st week of the month– I think that in the past year this had only happened once. The quality and service have gone downhill– paper straws, napkins and tassel all look like Dollar Store items. Payment has already been taken out for Dec so we’ll see how late this will be– no tracking has yet been sent

I am STILL waiting for a mystery box I ordered in SEPTEMBER!! When I reached out to CS I was told it is at their processing facility, and out of their hands. I’m furious! I receive a lot of boxes (popsugar, FFF, cause box, birch box, Ipsy plus, look fantastic, BeautyFix, and peaches & petals and Boxycharm) and have never dealt with a company like this. It’s almost like they don’t want customers! I would not order from them ever if they were selling $20 for a penny, it would never arrive 🙄
