Now, on to the items!

Look Fantastic December 2018 pillowspray back

THIS WORKS Deep Sleep Pillow Spray, 10 ml - Estimated Value $3.87 (Buy the full size 75 ml here for $29.00)

I love me some essential oils! This award-winning blend of lavender, chamomile, and vetiver is said to truly assist with lulling yourself into an easier and quicker sleep. I am not the ideal candidate for this because I can fall asleep on cue. My husband is the insomniac in our home so he was the test subject for this. He did reflect that his sleep was more pleasant simply because the smell of this formula is amazing. He wasn't sure it helped him fall asleep any faster but he enjoyed the scent so much he plans on continuing to test it out. I did find that it made our night routine feel much more spa-like and relaxing.

Look Fantastic December 2018 serum with box Look Fantastic December 2018 serum back Look Fantastic December 2018 serum detail

Dr. Botanicals Pomegranate Superfood Brightening Eye Serum, 15 ml – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $25.50

This eye serum is infused with raspberry seed oil (an amazing fatty acid for skin) and pomegranate extract. The pomegranate is the star of this bottle, boasting tons of antioxidants. This oil has no real scent, and a little drop went a very long way. I recommend it more for evening use, as it is too oily for use under makeup. Toss it in the fridge for some depuffing!

Look Fantastic December 2018 primer with box Look Fantastic December 2018 primer open Look Fantastic December 2018 primer bottom

Illamasqua Hydra Veil Primer, 7 ml – Estimated Value $10.50 (Buy Full Size 30 ml here for $45.00)

A clear gel primer? Whaaaaaat? I am very into this uber glamourous little pot! Sometimes I find even the best of primers can interact with my foundation in unexpected ways depending on how dry I am or how humid it is outside. This gel absorbs quickly into my skin, and since it is not a cream it doesn't pill at all! It also smells fresh and lovely.

Look Fantastic December 2018 scalp detox Look Fantastic December 2018 scalp detox back

Grow Gorgeous Scalp Detox, 50 ml – Estimated Value $8.95 (Buy Full Size 190 ml here for $34.00)

If you read my reviews (and if you do, I thank you!) you know I am generally pretty positive regarding most products. I truly like most things! On the off chance I am not super into a product, I make myself use or test it out twice, just to make sure. I know a lot of people put work into the items that end up into my hands and I want to give them a fair try! This product I could not test twice. I do not understand this formula at all. I have SUPER thick hair and this detox is heavy and full of little microbeads. I had so much trouble getting the formula down to my scalp and then getting the little beads out of my hair was impossible, even after 3 additional shampooings. I am still picking them out or finding them on my clothing. The formula without these particles would be stellar, but I will never use this again. If you are looking for great hair detox, give the Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt a try.

Karl Lagerfeld x ModelCo Brow Pencil, 0.05 oz – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $22.00

How did the universe know I needed a new brow pencil? I really love the color and formula of this one. I am blonde but I tend to fill my brows darker, so this medium/dark pigment was just fine by me! The texture is a little sheer and a little waxy, but very buildable. In addition to giving my brows a little color and drama, the waxiness also helps sculpt them into place and keep them there.

Limited Edition Look Fantastic Beauty Sponge

Another tool on my want list! This box is killing it. This sponge feels a little denser than my older one, and the cranberry color is so festive and matches the box this month. I love little details like that. It also has a bunch of different shapes to use on different areas of my face.

And this box includes the latest issue of  Elle UK Magazine:

Huge Zoe fan here!

Those brows tho!

Look Fantastic December 2018 elle magazine images

The Verdict: This month's box has a value of at least $70.82 not counting the magazine or the sponge since I could not locate its exact retail value. This is an exceptional value for a $19 beauty box, but this comes as no surprise, as Look Fantastic seems to always deliver value as well as new and innovative products. Though I absolutely would never touch the scalp detox again, every other product was something I either had on my to buy list already or something like an eye serum that I always find a good use for.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, but not for long! (This page will let you know what box is currently available.)

Value Breakdown: At $19.99 for this box, the average cost of each of the 6 items is $3.33.

I also like the Christophe Robin. The trial sizes in get in boxes last me for a long time. I use a dime size and it cleans scalp and gives texture to my hair as well. If I ever ran out of trial sizes I would most likely buy the smaller of the full size. I do have very short thin hair that only needs washing no more than twice a week so that helps. The formula this month I will pass on it.

Hi! I recently received my box and also thought I got a bad batch of the scalp detox. I’m definitely not happy that many of you gals had the same experience, but am somewhat glad to know I didn’t misuse the product somehow and that many had similar horrid experiences. Mine is getting thrown out as well. Happy New Year to all of you <3

Honestly, I was kind of disappointed in this box. They’re not items I find very useful except the Llamasqua. The sleep spray is okay but I’ve gotten it several times in other boxes (I only get the Look Fantastic box now). The scalp scrub will get tossed. I hate to be wasteful but it sounds like it wouldn’t even be good to gift to my niece.

I actually really liked the scalp scrub, but I also used it while in the bathtub, so that might have helped with the beads not getting stuck in my hair.

are you guys using this scalp detox for like itchy scalp or flakes? I mean in the winter I get an itchy scalp sometimes (and I have a huge head of hair) and I just use head and shoulders & let it soak on my scalp only… If I get product build up I use suave clarifying shampoo and scrub the hell out of my scalp. I do use oils & dressings on my hair… but micro beads and bumps and pustules on my head sound like a nightmare I would be freaking out in the emergency room =( I feel bad for the pending swap I have with someone I think I should link these comments =/

Also still waiting. Was kinda glad to see others still waiting. Not that I don’t want others to get their box, of course.

It wouldn’t surprise me if some boxes run behind this month because of the holidays. I hope yours arrives soon! <3

I still haven’t received my box either. I checked my account and the delivery window date was like the 14-24th. I’m always super paranoid though because packages get stolen around my neighborhood regularly though. We bought a PO BOX but this was the last package being sent to my house.

i echo a lot of the other reviews about the scalp scrub being very hard to wash out. but the biggest issue i have with the scalp scrub is the scent. it’s very perfumey and it lingers long after your hair dries.

Jamie

The beads are very hard to get out and I have super thin and fine hair. I have to wash 3 more times and they were still some. I threw it away. I want to try the DP HUV apple cider one. Anyone try or and have anything good/bad to say it would be appreciated. <3

I developed huge, fluid filled cysts all over my scalp after using this for a couple weeks (they weren’t zits, different and worse). I used it as instructed, and it was the only change in my hair routine. It took months for them to heal up and go away. I haven’t developed any new ones since I stopped using it. I know people seem to love it, so I was very disappointed. Never again will I use that kind of product. I’ll just do a rinse with plain apple cider vinegar instead.

Megan K.

I like strong scents, and this one agreed with me. It was just those darn beads!

What are the little beads made out of? Are they like micro plastic particles? That’s really terrible if so!

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

I thought they might melt with scrubbing, but they never dissolved. I was actually surprised since they were oil based. The whole process confused me.

Anna

The beads are castor oil

I received the Grow Gorgeous scalp detox in another beauty box and call me crazy, but I never noticed the little balls. I do have rather thin/ fine hair and maybe this product is more for people like me. I had no problem applying it to my scalp and it rinsed out easily. I am looking for any hair products that may assist in preventing any further thinning and so far, so good. Just yesterday, I received a scalp serum from Grow Gorgeous and can’t wait to try that too.

Megan K.

They were hard to miss for me, but I do have SUPER thick and long hair. If it weren’t for those balls I would have really enjoyed it.

I was going to buy a detox for my scalp.. I Ty you for your honesty….Love everyone’s reviews from MSA…🦋😀🦋

That Christophe Robin stuff is INCREDIBLE. It is rather expensive so I recommend buying the smaller version to make sure you like it. And you are welcome! I try to be really transparent. <3

I have thick wavy hair and the first time I used the detox it didn’t work out as I applied to my palm and attempted to distribute. The next time I applied a little to my fingers tips and applied directly to my scalp. You do not need a lot of this product when you apply directly to the scalp. I love this product and have swapped for extras.

Megan K.

I am glad you liked it Kristin! My experience might have been user error, but I still can’t stand the thought of the beads in my hair again. I absolutely loved the formula otherwise!

I honestly don’t think scalp scrubs do anything. There are much more effective ways to deal with a flaky scalp, product buildup, and dandruff than attempting to physically exfoliate your head. Unless you’re bald. Then it might work.

The rest of these products look great though.

Megan K.

The only other one I have ever used was that Christophe Robin one, so my sampling pool is super small! That stuff was incredible though. It absolutely did something but I did have to use a ton of conditioner after.

I got the scalp scrub last year in the advent calendar. I thought I wasn’t doing something right. So after reading this, I’m happy to say, i’m glad its not just me… : ) the micobeads are annoying and do stay in your hair. i don’t feel like i am even getting to my scalp as my hair is so think, so I agree with you totally. I hate wasting product, so you may want to try using this for a foot scrub instead. I’ve incorporated it into my pedicure routine at home and it seems to do a fine job with that. …

Megan K.

Jessica, you are a straight up genius. Thanks for the tip!

Darn, the scalp scrub was the product I was most excited to try. Hopefully my hubs won’t have a problem getting the beads out of his short hair.
This was a pretty good box.

I feel like if you have short hair it might be a different story. I have a lion’s mane of hair so it wasn’t for me.

That scalp scrub sounds like a nightmare!

I did not enjoy the experience.
