Ecocentric Mom December 2018 Review
We received this little card that includes a link to this page where we can filter by age to see the products from our box. This is great to check out if you are considering this subscription as you can see what items you might receive in another age group. This month we also received a coupon for 2 weeks of unlimited online yoga classes.
Green Sprouts Sprout Ware Plates (set of 3) - Retail Value $9.99
These little plates are nice and gender neutral and are actually great to throw into a diaper bag to use at restaurants! They are small, lightweight, and durable as well as BPA and PVC -free. They are top rack dishwasher safe, but it is recommended that you hand wash them for longevity. They are also made of plant-based materials and food-safe dyes which makes them pretty unique. These aren't necessarily something I needed, but I'm happy to have them for traveling!
Zatik Naturals Nutri Face Serum - Retail Value $28
This face serum is made with black cumin seed oil and rosehip extract. It actually smells a bit spicy at first and then you get more floral notes all of which are very light. I applied this to my face before bed last night and it absorbed into my skin wonderfully without any real residue like others I have tried. In the morning my face felt smooth, soft and moisturized, so I'm happy to add this to my nightly routine! This certified organic formula is vegan, non-GMO, biodegradable, and PH balanced as well as free of gluten, soy, and alcohol. This is exactly the type of product I'd expect to receive in an eco-friendly mom box!
Earthley Wellness Breathe Well Salve – Retail Value $6.99
This congestion relief salve comes in stick form and is about the size of an oversized chapstick at 0.5 oz. It is made with olive oil and candelilla wax as well as a blend of child-safe essential oils: lemon, rosalina, mint balm bush, and clary sage. I have a similar product that I use for the kids at home, but this one has a much more mild smell and I love that I can use it while I'm nursing and on infants as young as 6+ months. This will definitely come in handy this cold and flu season when the kids are congested and the size and style of this will make it easy to apply. It is also natural and free of parabens, sulfates, and fragrances.
Marama Naturals Leave-In Detangler & Conditioning Spray - Retail Value $9.99
I have actually received this product before and currently use it as a detangler for my daughter who has some wild curls. We love this product so I am thrilled to have a new bottle for when we run out. I love that it is natural and it is very light so her hair never has a greasy feeling afterward, but is soft and more manageable. The scent is light and clean and I like that it is formulated without parabens, phthalates, or artificial fragrances and is cruelty-free.
Verdict: This month's Ecocentric Mom box was not particularly exciting to me, but I think that there were a lot of useful items such as the detangler and congestion stick. I wish that there was just one more item in this box to make it feel a bit more special, but as far as the value goes, it was definitely there at $54.97. This is great for a $32.99 box, but a lot of that value came from the Nurti Face Serum, which is one of those products that people may feel strongly about one way or another since skin care is super subjective! Luckily, it worked well for me and it says it is suitable for all skin types, so hopefully, the value is there for anyone else who receives it as well.
